I've read my New Year's resolutions and feel like a failure. This is something I wrote in response.

A stranger to myself,

I know not who I am,

Lost in a sea of thoughts,

A stranger to my own land.

I look in the mirror,

And I see a face,

But the person staring back,

Is one I cannot replace.

Memories, like shadows,

Haunt me in my mind,

A past that I once knew,

But now is hard to find.

I am a stranger to myself,

In a world that's full of noise,

I'm searching for my identity,

But it seems I've lost my voice.

I feel disconnected,

From the person I once knew,

And I'm struggling to find my way,

To start anew.

But I know that with time,

And with a little grace,

I will find my way back,

To the person I was meant to be,

And I'll be able to look at myself,

With love and acceptance, and see.

A stranger to myself,

But that's okay,

For I am on a journey,

To find my true self today.
