"Get off me!" A girl shouted, pushing the drunken man away.

"Oh come on baby, don't be like that." He slurred, pushing some hair out of her face. "You're so pretty, you were basically begging for it."

The girl whimpered slightly at the man's touch, hoping that a miracle would happen as the man started attacking her neck.

"I don't think she's enjoying that very much."

The victim and the drunk looked over, seeing a girl with chestnut brown hair and piercing eyes staring at them. Her arms were crossed as she slowly walked towards them.

"Hey baby, you wanna join in on the fun." The assaulter stumbled over his words, pushing off the girl. He was too wasted too even notice the red flags.

"I suggest you don't talk about my baby-sister like that." A man's voice shot through the opposite side of the dark alley. The drunk quickly looked behind, seeing nothing. He chuckled before turning back around, only to see the strange man in front of him rather than behind him.

"How'd you-!"

"That's for us to know and you to find out." The mysterious girl chimed. She then faced the young woman, raising a brow at her. "You can go now."

The victim nodded quickly, whispering a meek "thank you", before running out of the alley-way. As the sound of heels disappeared, the pair smiled wickedly at one another before looking back the drunk, who was shaking with fear at this point.

"What are you gonna do with me?" He asked, his voice shaking as much as his body.

"Well we would tell you," the boy began.

"But that would ruin the fun." The sister finished, a cat-like grin appearing on both of their faces.

Before the predator now turned victim had a chance to react, the brother had disappeared behind him, caging his arms so he couldn't leave.

"So you think it's a game to make helpless women your prey?" The sister chimed, now in front of him. She delicately caressed his face with her king nails, making the man in front of her shiver. "How does it feel to be the helpless victim now? Being held against your will as others toy with you? Not so fun is it?"

"Wh-Who are you?" The man whimpered, shivering under the touch of her cold skin. "What are you?"

"Well I suppose it's only fair we answer your questions, you're going to die soon anyways." After that sentence the man jerked, trying to run, only to be held still by the brother's iron grip. "My name is Anastasia Clark, and this is my older brother Thomas as you may have presumed." Icarus shot him a grin, tightening his grip on the man. "And we aren't like you, weak little human. We are something more. Something that can rip you to shreds in the matter of five seconds."

"Quit teasing Ana." Thomas chimed, giving his sister a hard look. "Josie will be expecting us home soon."

"Oh brother, let me have my fun." She waved him off before looking at the man, licking her lips. "I'm afraid it's time to get straight to the point! We are vampires, sir. And by the time I'm done with you, you'll be nothing but a shriveled up grape!"

The man started fighting against Icarus' hold once more, failing to get out. "P-Please, I have a wife! I- I have children! Let me live and I prom-promise that I'll never hurt anyone e-ever again! I swear! I won't tell anyone either." The man blabbered on, pleading with the duo. Ana rolled her eyes a bit before slamming her hand over their victim's mouth.

"Silence pig." She growled before sticking her sharp fangs into the man's neck. The last thing heard from him was a sharp scream that the city of Manhattan ignored.

"You seemed to have a little too much fun with him." Thomas chimed leaning on the doorway of their flat's bathroom.

"What can I say? It's fun to toy with my victims, give them a taste of their own medicine." She shrugged, wiping the blood off of her chin. "And I didn't rush you with your victim earlier, just saying Tommy-Boy."

"Well I know how you get with your meals." He rolled his eyes, handing her a towel to dry her face off. Ana caught it with ease, nodding at him before drying off. Once she was done, she smiled at herself in the mirror.

"There good as new."

"Are you two alright up there?" Josephine yelled from downstairs.

"Yes darling, we're coming right now!" Thomas replied, disappearing downstairs. Ana rolled her eyes, shaking her head at her brother, before looking back at her reflection.

Ana never quite understood the whole "mate" thing. How can fate just bring two people together and make them fall in love with each other like that? She didn't know. But she did witness it with her brother and Josephine, so she couldn't say it wasn't real. But even though she may not understand, she wished that fate would hurry up on the process of her life. While she loved her brother and sister-in-law dearly, just watching them coddle each other makes her heart sink. She could feel that her life wasn't complete, she longed for her soul to feel whole once more. And she knew that only the strong bond that her and her mate would share could only fix that missing piece.

"Ana, are you coming?" Thomas called to her, snapping her out of her small daydream.

She sighed, hurrying downstairs. "Yes, I'm right here. How was hunting?" She sat down, noticing that rain had started up. Sighing at the peacefulness of the rain, she laid her head back.

"About the same as usual." Josie replied, sitting down on the couch gracefully. "Although I'm my hunting habits aren't nearly exciting as yours." Unlike the siblings, Josephine Clark (neé Lavigne) had a different diet. Instead of feasting on humans, she decided to settle with animals instead. Hence why instead of blood red eyes she wore a pair of bright golden ones.

But that didn't make Thomas love her any less.

"Oh darling, I'm sure it was exciting! After all, you're the one that has to deal with mountains and all sorts on wild creatures."

"I just went to the park and snatched up a few deer and a rabbit darling." She pointed out, looking at her mate like he was crazy. Before Thomas could give a cheeky answer back, a knock came from the door. Ana immediately stood up, her eyes locked on the door.

"Are we expecting guests?" Thomas asked, passing by Ana to the door.

"I don't think so darling." Josie hummed, her eyebrows in a scrunch. She was standing next to Ana now, hands on her shoulders.

Thomas shrugged a bit, slowly opening the door, to reveal a familiar face with two strangers behind him, all soaked from the rain but looked unbothered.

"May I come in?"
