《Just Friends // Pierre Gasly》The Choice

Being in Milan with Pierre was just what Y/n needed to reassure her he was okay. After Japan the tension he had seemed to have fallen away and the few days that had already passed since being in Milan were delightful.
Although they'd been together all the time, Y/n still managed to talk to Claudia Woods and see if the plan would work. They agreed it would be discussed but she hadn't heard back from them yet and each passing day without hearing anything wasn't a good sign. If they didn't give her an answer by tomorrow night she'd have to make the choice or forfeit the offer.
Y/n's thoughts ran wild as she gazed out of the car window. Pierre had planned a romantic dinner before he would get busy training for the last two races again.
Pierre: A penny for your thoughts?
Y/n smiled and looked over to Pierre.
Y/n: Just thinking about Se- the last races.
Pierre: I'm the driver between us and I'm not even there mentally yet, why is it worrying you ma Chérie?
Y/n: I'm thinking about Charles. He's done so well and I don't want him to put too much blame on himself if things don't work out...
Pierre: I'm sure his races will go well, and even if they don't go how he wants, he's loved the opportunity to battle a Red Bull again this year.
Y/n: Yeah...
Pierre: Come on, dinner will be the perfect way to clear your mind.
Pierre stopped the car and guided Y/n into the restaurant to a table in the back. They settled and ordered drinks. The air hung heavy with the elephant in the room that Y/n had so avoided until she knew more but Pierre addressed it.
Pierre: I know you're worried about Seattle, not just Charles. I know they want an answer tomorrow night... I support you Chérie, no matter what. I'm proud of you for everything you've accomplished.

Y/n gave a wry smile at this.
Y/n: Thanks love. But let's not let that be a topic at dinner. Let's just enjoy tonight.
The couple sat talking for ages and their laughter filled the air. It was a special night, almost 4 months of being together, and Y/n couldn't think of a better way to spend it. She laughed at something Pierre said but froze when a flash went off.
Y/n: What was that?
Pierre: You looked beautiful. It's worth the world seeing.
When she looked again she had been mentioned in Pierre's Instagram story.
Y/n: Aww Pierre! I love you so much!
Pierre: I love you too Y/n
As she stared down at her phone, reposting the story, a notification popped up.
She froze. This was it, the answer to her plan. She stared at it for a second longer before putting her phone down. Whatever the answer was it wouldn't change between now and later, it can wait until home.
Pierre: There's something wrong?
Y/n: Not at all, just a bit tired though.
Pierre: Want to head out?
Y/n: If you're ready.
Pierre: Yeah, let's go home.
Once they'd arrived home Y/n went straight to the room. She was anxious to open the message but wanted nothing more than to see the response. If all goes well the decision will be a simple one. She took out her phone and hesitated before selecting the notification.
Okay, you're approved.
Her heart jumped. Okay? Okay?! I'm approved! She never thought she would've gotten through to them but clearly she had. Her excitement led her to forward the message to Max informing him it worked and that she could easily make the call. She dialed Claudia's number and it picked up on the first ring.
Claudia: Miss Summers! I take it you're happy with our response.

Y/n: I am! And Claudia, thank you so much for this opportunity. You probably know what I'm about to say but I, Miss Y/n Summers, am accepting the offer!
Claudia: Wonderful! We'll see you soon. How does Monday sound? You've got all week and weekend to prepare.
Y/n: Uh, sure.
Claudia: I sense you are hesitant to start so soon...
Y/n: No no, it's just... well it's the last race of the season that following weekend and I would hate to miss it.
Claudia: Miss Summers...
Y/n: I know, I know... no distractions.
Claudia: Let's see what happens once you're here and we can fully discuss that plan of yours. Good night.
Y/n: Good night.
Once she put the phone down she held it to her chest and smiled. I can't believe it worked! She felt it vibrate and answered the call.
Y/n: Hey Maxi V
Max: Hey Summers, so it worked
Y/n: Yip! Thank you Max, I couldn't have done it without you!
Max: Of course, I'm always happy to help. So I take it you took the offer?
Y/n: Yeah I did.
Max: Have you told Pierre yet?
Y/n: ...No... I want to tell everyone together. Maybe we can organize a dinner party or something before the race. I can't leave it till after because... well they want to see me Monday.
Max: Oh, well dinner is easy to organize
Y/n: Thanks Max, I'll see you soon.
Max: See you soon. Don't worry, it'll all work out.
Y/n: Thanks
She ended the call and noticed the house seemed very quiet. She hadn't heard Pierre come in the room or even heard him passing by. She got up and went to look for him. He was looking down at something in his hands while standing outside on the little balcony of his apartment.
Y/n: Hey Love, everything okay?
He pushed the item in his pocket before turning around and smiled.
Pierre: Yeah, everything is perfect. I have my beautiful girlfriend staying with me.
Y/n: Well you're beautiful girlfriend wants to get to bed but can't sleep without you next to her.
Pierre: Aww let's go to bed...
