Chapter 1

Many, many years ago, the moon goddess created the supernatural creatures. Among the many creatures, she created few with a different kind of blood. They fought differently. They thought differently. They knew what to do to survive. They knew how to do the right and just thing for the sake of others. They were the strongest of their kind. All of them were leaders by blood.

Hence, the moon goddess assigned each of them their own kind of people of whom they should take care. They were the people these leaders should fight for and guide during the dark hours they would face because of their special abilities.

These creatures included werewolves, vampires, witches, giants, fairies, demons and so many more powerful creatures. To ensure their continuity, the moon goddess gave them mates. Mates were the ones with whom they would feel a connection at first sight. Not just any connection, a love connection that would bind them together for their life. They were each other's other half, a piece that they would cherish till their last breath. They were there to complete each other, to love each other unconditionally and guide each other. Along with mates came a family and with family came children.

Just like all supernatural, the leaders had mates and children. Having the blood of the strongest of their kind running through their veins, the children were already leaders as they took their first breath.

All these powerful creatures together were a force to reckon with and with the wrong guidance, they could turn the world into hell. The leaders were there to ensure peace not only between the creatures but also between the human world and supernatural creatures. They had to ensure that the thin line separating these two worlds would not be crossed from either side.

Under no circumstances should humans know about the existence of supernatural for they would hunt them down. On the other side, supernatural creatures should not prey on those with no special abilities nor should they prey on each other, risking to erase the existence of each other. These two major rules kept the balance between the world and prevented the scale from tipping to one side.

However, as time passed by, everything was bound to change and the lives of these creatures were no exception. Starting from when the first supernatural creatures walked the Earth till now where they roamed freely all over the earth, there had been a drastic change in their ways of living and beliefs.

Mates, despite being such a pure connection has been neglected by many. Rejections kept arising between mates, causing severe pain to each other, tainting the once pure relation in the process. As they grew hungry for power, they forgot about what gave real happiness- their family. They neglected the latter and fought for the former. Even if there were plenty who still had faith in mate bonds, it was not how it once was.

The leaders were no different. The first leaders were passionate, honest, caring, loving and just but now, the leaders are only hungry for power. Being born as the leader's children, they knew the throne was theirs. They became over-confident and looked down on those who were not as lucky as them to have that fate.

They ruled by inciting fear in the people they were supposed to protect. The people feared the leaders more than they feared the real threats. With this new way of ruling, the blood of the leaders lost their importance.

Where they once meant strength, intelligence, and loyalty, now they just meant a small boost of power. Time passed, cruel leaders ruled and then left, great leaders ruled and then left. It became the new cycle of life.

They awaited the death of cruel leaders and the rise of great leaders. In this power-driven world, not all hope was lost.

Werewolf Kingdom *Present time*

In the dark hours of the night, everywhere was surprisingly calm. The calm and slow breezes shook the leaves of trees while the moon shone brightly in the dark night, its rays casting a serene glow over the trees. But little did the people know it was the calm before the raging storm awaiting them that would cause the scale of balance between human world and supernatural world to tip on one side. Most surprisingly, it would not be because of humans. It would be the supernatural creatures who would be their own downfall.

In the midst of the night, King Gabriel -The king of werewolves- sat in his office, a piece of paper in his hands. Every time he read the paper, he grew more frustrated for it was a threat. A threat that could make him lose his kingdom, his people and his family. Not being able to re-read the words again, he crumbled the paper and threw it across the room, a low growl escaping him as his wolf got agitated, causing his eyes to change colours.

With his kingdom at the brink of war with other supernatural creatures- the vampires- his anger was justified. A fight among the different creatures was a rare occurrence but when it did occur, it left its imprint with thousands of death, destruction and new enmities being formed. This new war would a difficult one to win but he could never surrender for his pride.

A knock resonated in the room, pulling him out of his trance. At the sight of his mate, the king visibly relaxed and so did his wolf. After all, mates were also there to keep each other in control. Queen Isabella was a beautiful woman with the perfect height, slender figure and sharp facial features but underneath all of this, there was a woman who only loved power.

Queen Isabella always craved power. Being mated to the king provided her with all she ever desired. As a queen, she should have been compassionate to others in her kingdom and offered any help she could to less fortunate but, she was the opposite. She kept to herself and was only in the company of others who had a high rank. She looked down on those of lower ranks. During the rare times she did help, it was for her reputation.

Despite being a bad queen, she was a great mother and mate. She would do anything for her family since she loved her mate and her twins dearly.

"Is everything alright?" She asked as she stood behind Gabriel, giving him a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. He relaxed under her touch and placed his hand on Isabella's hand that was resting on his shoulder.

"I'm afraid no." He sighed, sounding defeated. "It's another note from the vampires. It's time we deal with them."

Just as the queen was about to speak, another knock interrupted her and in walked her twins- Rayan and Rayna- along with Ivory- Rayan's mate.

"Hi dad." The twins said at the same time.

"Hello King Gabriel." Ivory spoke

With a motion of his hand, he said, "Drop the formalities dear. You are part of our family now."

Ivory nodded shyly and proceeded to stand next to Rayan. Ivory was no different from Isabella. Both were beautiful but power-hungry. Both loved their mates but it was different for Ivory. Her hunger for power overpowered her love for Rayan. Given the choice between being with Rayan or being the sole ruler of the werewolves, chances were she would choose the latter in a matter of seconds.

"Take a seat." Gabriel said. "We have to talk about some important things."

"Is it about the vampires again?" Rayan asked. Rayan was the next in line to be king, being the eldest child of the king and queen. Just like many others, he thought having the royal blood made him fit for being king but in this new world, it only meant a small boost of power. He may be good at fighting and planning strategies but there were others who could easily defeat him simply because of his overconfidence.

King Gabriel nodded and Rayan spoke up again. "But going into that war would be like suicide. We would either lose or lose too many people. Winning would not matter if we had no one to left to rule over."

"I see only one person who could help us." Isabella spoke up. "Your mother had been part of such a war long ago and we won it. Maybe she could guide us." She addressed the king.

"Yes but it was against the demons. Not the vampires" He replied and began contemplating the idea. "But maybe you are right."

"Are we going to go see her or not?" Rayna asked, impatiently. She was always on for adventure but she always created troubles- grave ones- but was never held responsible for she was the princess. Despite her sweet, innocent and caring exterior, she was nowhere close.

"That's our only option." King Gabriel said before getting up and heading to their indoor garden accessible only to members of the royal family with the other behind him. Standing in front of the big double glass doors, the king motioned the guards to open them.

During the past years, the garden has not changed. The king made sure it was taken care of regularly. The garden was not big but not small. Vines grew around the pillars and continued on the ground to the neatly cut grass. Green bushes, adorned with beautiful flowers grew on the sides of the garden along with big trees in each corner.

In the middle of the room, there was a white coffin, placed on a big white concrete structure, surrounded by rose bushes. Petals fell on the coffin from the trees. Next to the structure, stood a beautiful white pedestal with golden lines and transparent gems creating an intricate design on the structure with a white bowl on top of it, the edge decorated with golden flowers. A concrete pathway connected the structure to the double glass door, where the king and his family stood.

They made their way towards the coffin. The king brushed away the fallen petals. On the coffin "Natalia Royal" was written in bold, golden letters and golden lines created a beautiful, ancient style.

"Are you sure about this?" Rayan voiced out. "There was a reason why put herself under that spell."

"He is right." Rayna supported her brother. "We did promise to not wake her up so soon."

"If we win the war, it will be worth it." Gabriel said before taking the pocket knife he brought with him. Since the spell could only be broken with a royal's blood, he slit his palm, letting a few drops of blood fall in the white bowl.

The blood started swirling in the bowl and the golden lines started glowing, lighting the once transparent stones in the process. The glowing lines ran all the way from the pedestal to the white concrete structure on which the coffin was placed, finally reaching the coffin, making the golden lines as well as the name written to start glowing. A magical glow could be seen around the structure and the royal family watched, feeling anxious. Once it stopped, the king proceeded to open the coffin, revealing a pale yet beautiful woman.

"She is not waking up." Rayna commented.

"It takes time for the spell to wear off." Queen Isabella replied. They shifted her to her room and did the only thing they could- wait.

A few hours later, as everybody sat in the office of the king, the door busted open, revealing a frantic maid. "Sorry for not- knocking your highness. Your mother is up and she- she is really angry and- and breaking thi-things." She said, breathless.

Not wasting anytime, they dashed towards the room, the sound of objects breaking becoming clearer. As they entered the room, Gabriel had to pull the others back just in time as a vase went flying past them, crashing into small pieces upon impact with the wall. "Mother, calm down" Gabriel said. If there was anything scarier than his mother, that would be his angry mother and currently she was more than angry.

Being woken up from the sleeping spell, Natalia felt angry, tired, frustrated, betrayed and sad.

Angry because her peaceful time came to an end

Tired because of the effect of the spell as well as the thought of what awaits her in this harsh world.

Frustrated because of not being able to get back under the spell to get away from reality

Betrayed because the promise her family once made was broken.

And finally sad. Sad because of the fact that her broken heart was still as broken as it was when she first went under the spell.

"How can I calm down?" She exclaimed. "You broke the promise you made. You knew why I was under that spell but still." She left the last part hanging and Gabriel visibly flinched at his mother's words.

"We did not have any choice mother." Isabella spoke up. "We are in dire need of your help."

Natalia calmed down a little upon hearing that the kingdom needed her help. Even if she was no longer queen, they were still her people and she would do whatever she could to help them. "What happened?" She finally asked.

"Do you have any idea how to defeat them? You did defeat the demons once." Gabriel asked as he finished explaining her everything that happened.

"During the war against the demons, our main strength was our unity. Not only unity among us werewolves but with the other creatures. We should get more allies and fight as one."

"I will get right to it." Gabriel said.

"One more thing, the entire royal family should fight side by side not just you four." All of them looked at her in confusion

"What do you mean?" Rayna asked. "We are all here. Ivory is also with us."

"Analise." Natalia said.
