An Eerie Realization

The shield looked as if it was almost separated into three different segments.

The giant's gray almost lifeless skin was covered under tattered brown rags. Black greasy hair running just past its shoulders.

“Come break my shield you little shits!”

“This guy sure has an attitude.” I said looking at it like this was beneath me.

The first one to go was Leo. Being around made me realize that his fire isn't the only thing hot about him. He is just as hot headed as his fire. Always going after whoever we fight first.

He enveloped his sword in flames and slash not at the sword but the giant's neck. The giant swatted Leo like a fly. Smashing straight into the ground. He was surely hurt being swatted at that speed. But Leo got up like it was nothing.

“Do you not feel pain?”

“I haven't felt pain in here yet.”

“Makes sense based this is supposed to be a trainer” Ty said

He was holding a sniper rifle aiming at the shield

A loud boom and I watched one of the three segments fall to the ground and fall through the floor like it wasn't even there.

“Haha, you fools! If you only break only one or two it'll only get harder to break the shield!”

‘You're awfully confident in that shield” Ty said chuckling

“Alright all three of us will attack the shield and we get out of this thing, easy.” Ty said

We all lunged at the shield and broke all three segments.

“Oh no my shield!”

This thing's face was so stupid looking I couldn't help myself from laughing.

“Why are you laughing at me!’

The thing looked sad, like it was about to cry. Right after it was.

“Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you cry. It's okay buddy, what's the matter?”

‘My shield, it was the last thing I had since my mother disappeared.” He said sniffling

“Do you know where she went?”

He looked at me with a sparkle in his eyes, then looked down and frowned.

“I did, but when I went to save her she was dead and a little guy was right next to her all bloody.”

“What did the guy look like?”

‘I- I don't remember '' He said right before balling his eyes out.

“I think this guy is a little kid in their race” I whispered to the others.

“Now I feel bad for going after the kids head at first”

Wait if this isn't real then why does this kid have memories of a mother?

This is so surreal.

“How did you get into this joint?” Ty said

“Joint?” The giant asked looking puzzled

“It means place Mr Giant. Also not everyone knows how you speak Ty.” Leo said looking embarrased.

“Well, first off my name is Elgor. I'm twelve years old, I think. I don't know what you mean by how I got here. How did you get here? You're in my home, well cave.``

As he said that it was like the world just generated into thin air, video-game-esque.

We were in a cave right next to a fire that had a huge animal being cooked over it.

Now what the hell is going on. First Elgors weird past, and now this? I thought this was a little simulation.

“I'm not tripping, am I?”

“Nah Ty… What the hell is going on!”

Seems like Leo and Ty are both just as confused as me. Elgor looked indifferent. He must have seen the same things as us.

“Warning, further disruption of the simulation will result in the termination of this sequence.” Vyrie’s voice said

Right after that Elgor’s body went limp and fell through the ground.

“‘YO WHAT THE FUCK!” Ty screamed

Both of them looked freaked out.

A familiar voice rang in our heads, different from the echoing of Kyrie.

“Yall just had to talk to one of the simulations. Just so you guys know, this is one-hundred percent a simulation. Just a… developed one. You guys skipped some levels and now you're onto the open world part. Don't blame me if you get youre ass’s kicked” Polo said

“Man this place gets more and more creepy by the minute you”

An eerie tingle crawled up my spine making me look backwards. Three archers launching a volley of arrows. My body moved instantly and made a gust of wind equal to the force of the arrows stopping them still.

Ty was oblivious to the people behind us. He was looking at some… mushrooms? It had a mouth and arms and legs. It was carrying a shield and hammer. It was about two feet tall and was trying to attack Ty. Ty didnt let that slide however. He convoked a pistol and blasted a hole through the roof of the shrine's body.

Leo was engaging a walking rock. What the hell is going on, are we supposed to fight all three of the fights on our own? Before I had time to think, another volley of arrows . I am nimble enough to dodge the middle archers volley but the other twos almost followed me. Heat Seeking arrows? What type of Art is this?

“Shit merge we lost function of thirds arrow control” All three of the archers said.

I watched as all three vibrated and merged into one. They, or He was much more muscular than all three of the archers. I guess that's what happens when you merge together. Before I knew it he blitzed me. Using an arrow as a dagger he was aiming toward my heart.

BOOM. A shockwave of wind blasted off from my right. It was Ty!.

“Thanks, that was close!”

“Don't mention it”

Leo was still fighting the rock, his sword and fire weren't an effective tool for defeating moving rocks. The archer got up and jumped into the air readying three arrows. Two of them shot and were heading towards me. The other was going at Ty. I was too close and slow to dodge them. I raised my forearms and tucked my head trying to create a shield for my body. To my surprise the wind came rushing to my defense. Stopping the arrows in their tracks. Ty was hit however.

“Yo what the fuck man! You let me get it !”

“I didn't do this, Ty! I didn't try to use my Arts to protect myself, it just happened!”

“Annoying brat, don't get too cocky just cuz you've stopped some measly arrows.”

“Yo kid, this guy fighting, he’s physically beyond Ty and You both, Use your Nyphen Ki, or else you'll probably die.”

“No, I gotta learn how to win fights with my own power. If I keep relying on you, will I really be the one getting revenge for my mother and find my sister?”

“Suit yourself kid”

I imagined him shrugging his shoulders and sitting on his throne of emptiness within me.

The archer was moving towards Ty, He had no time to react before a low blow in his gut sent him flying, crashing into the roof of the cave. Ty let out a grunt, coughing out blood.

“Shit!” I yelled.

I took a deep breath trying to ready myself for his next attack. I need more range in order to avoid getting hit. Holding my right hand out I condensed the surrounding wind and formed a Glaive out of only wind. The glowing green weapon infused with Ki and wind.

“Haha, nice little party trick kid..” The archer said. Pulling arrows out of his quiver and almost instantly preparing them to be shot and shooting them. I tried to dodge but he shot six different arrows all moving in different paths. Five hit me but the other one went to Leo?

Looked back and I saw Leo with the arrow in his hand. His eyes burning with a controlled rage. His body emintating an aura of flames. Behind him was a large pile or rock with deep slash marks.

“Leo took two looks and saw that I was on my last legs, literally and figurativly. He looked at Ty and seen him uncosncous with blood on his mouth.

“You will not get away with this Archer!” Leo said

“If you're like these two you should be light work.”

I pulled the arrows out of my legs and I used wind to lessen the load on my legs.

“I can help Leo!”

“It's fine, I'll handle him, you two are my friends!”

Leo jumped, his sword radiating distorying the air with heat waves. His strength was beautiful. I can sense the raw amount of Ki within him. He might even have enough to match me even with my Nyphen Ki.

“No boy, you have just that much Ki if not more, you just dont know how or where to access it. Do meditation to search your soul for where your Ki comes from.” Nyle said

I rolled my eyes.

Leo was within striking range of the Archer. Once he did inevtily reach him he slashes destroying even light with the flames. But as he landed that hit two more popped out of him. The body he slashed was for sure dead.

“Yikes, We might be in trouble, let's bounce!”

Leo didnt let that happen. Slicing the heel of the left one and stabbing the right one through the heart!.
