《The only one of his kind》Chapter 58 good to see you Hope

3rd pov
Nick was now in the parking spot beside his car. Everyone was already in the car, except him and Hope who was standing beside him.
Jed saw the two and came out with a smile plastered on his face. ''good?''. ''what?'', Nick asked him. He laughed. ''was it that good, that you forgot?''. Hope rolled her eyes. ''we didn't do anything''.
Nick caught up to the two. ''man can't you just shut up for once and focus on your own life''. Jed's smile turned to a smirk. ''well, I can but it's much more fun to focus on yours''.
Lizzie rolled up the windows. ''Jed get your ass back in the car and shut up''. ''thank you Lizzie'', Hope said to her. She smiled towards the tribrid. ''of course Hope''. As she was rolling up the window she managed to say something. ''I want all the details later''.
Nick sighed ''we didn't do ANYTHING''. Everyone heard the hybrid and had their eyes widened at his statement.
Landon rolled down the window. ''okay bro. We heard. Just take a breath and get in the car, so we can go to the beach'', his brother said. Jed laughed, then he came closer to Nick and whispered in his ear ''it was that good''. With that he backed away. Nick looked at him and flashed his werewolf eyes, for Jed to knock it off. He saw that and got back to the car.
Hope looked at her boyfriend. ''what did you do?''. Nick looked at her with a smirk. ''well, I may have flashed my eyes at him. But hey he's lucky I didn't do anything else''. Hope rolled her eyes. ''let's just get in the car''. ''of course''.
Nick opened up the door and sat himself in. He looked at the tribrid. Gesturing with his hands to come and sit on his lap. She sighed a little before she sat herself on him.
Nick smiled as she sat down.
''okay beach time. No hanky panky there. Salvatore and Mikaelson''. ''funny Jed, very mature of you'', Hope said in a sarcastic tone as she looked at the werewolf.
''Jed knock it off, will you or else you won't get just flashing eyes next time''. ''yes Nicholas'', Jed said as he himself rolled his eyes towards the hybrid. Nick rolled his eyes as well.
----
Nick's pov
It has been like ten minutes into the driving. So, we still have thirty minutes. Everyone was quiet while the radio was playing. I was looking out the window before I felt something on my chest.
Hope laid herself on me, with her head into my chest. I looked down and smiled at her. She had her eyes closed.
''Nick?'', I heard Jed calling. I looked up at him ''yeah?''. ''is she asleep?''. I looked back down to Hope, she still had her eyes closed. ''I think so''. ''the others?''. I looked back and saw the twins sleeping and Mg, but Raf and Landon were awake. ''the twins and Mg is asleep, but not me and Lan'', Rafael said from the backseat.
''okay'', Jed answered him. I turned myself around. I looked back at Hope. I couldn't help, but smile at how she's sleeping.
3rd pov
Jed looked at Nick and Hope, he saw Nick looking at his girlfriend with a smile. He chuckled then turned his gaze back to the road. ''you really love her, don't you?''.
This made the hybrid look up at his best friend. ''yeah I do, very much'', he said as he looked at her again with a more smile on his face. Jed himself smiled.

''you two are soulmates'', they heard Landon say from the back seat. This took Nick a little of guard, he turned around to be met by a smiling Landon. ''I saw it from the start you know. When I came to the school. I saw how you and Hope were towards each other. I noticed there was some distance between you, but still you could see there were something there. I was jealous, so I tried almost everything to get Hope's attention. I always knew she had feelings for you, but I ignored them and telling myself that she likes me more. But I knew the truth, I just didn't want to see it''.
''wait, you were jealous?'', Nick asked. ''yeah I was. I didn't always hide it, if you noticed''. ''well, I noticed but I didn't think it was because of me. I just thought you were feeling angry or whatever. I didn't know it was jealousy and because of me''. ''well, it was brother but I see the way you two look at each other and she didn't ever look at me like that. However, I'm happy for both of you''.
Nick nodded and smiled towards his brother. He turned back and started thinking. To the day Landon came to the school.
Flashback
3rd pov
Nick was outside the Salvatore school. He had just finished his homework and told his parent he was going to visit his friends, since it was a party at the old mill. His parents didn't like it, but they couldn't deny the boy to have a life.
He pushed the button. ''hello Nick''. ''hey dr S, how did you know it was me?''. ''come on Nick. You are almost here everyday. It's not that difficult to guess''. Nick just huffed at the man's response. ''okay, so going to let me in or?''. ''of course''. With that the gate was open.
Nick came inside and got met by Ric. ''what up dr S?''. Ric looked at him and smiled. ''you really love it here''. ''yes I do. It's a shame I'm not a supernatural. Then I'd get to live and go to school here''.
At that statement Alaric cleared his throat. ''well, you know your way here. Have fun''. ''thanks dr S''. Then he left to meet up by the others.
----
He was at the old mill, and spotted Josie with two guys so he walked up to them.
Josie saw him ''Nick, you came'', she said as she gave him a hug.
''of course Jo'', he said hugging her back.
They broke from the hug and Nick saw the boys. ''hey my name's Nick Salvatore'', he said as he took a hand out. They both shook it.
''I'm Rafael and this is Landon''. ''cool, you two new I guess?''. ''well, Rafael is but Landon's not'', Josie answered. ''oh, why not?''. ''I'm a human, and something called compulsion didn't work on me so I got locked on the dungeon'', Landon answered the boy. Nick gave him a sympathise smile. ''it's actually a werewolf transition cellar, but that's not relevant. Anyway sorry to hear that bud''. ''thanks'', Landon answered him back.
It went quiet, but then Josie spoke. ''Raf here is a wolf''. Nick looked up at the wolf. ''cool''. ''yeah, without the bones breaking''. ''right, sorry forgot about that part'', Nick muttered. ''I should go'', Landon said. ''let me follow you'', Raf said. ''no you stay here Raf. This is here you belong'', Landon said as he patted his foster brother's shoulder. Then he walked away. ''I'll go after him. don't worry'', Nick said.

''Landon wait'', Nick yelled. Landon stopped and looked behind him. ''why are you following me?''. Nick rolled his eyes. ''if you haven't figured that out. This is a supernatural school, and I don't think you should go alone''. ''good point'', he said towards the unknown hybrid.
Both of them were walking. ''so, you don't go here?'' ''no, unfortunately I'm not supernatural, I'm a human''. ''yeah, me too'', Landon said while he huffed. ''so, um where do you go?''. ''mystic falls high''. ''oh, I went there''. ''you did?'', Nick asked. ''yeah before I moved''. ''oh, I don't think I have seen you around''. ''it's okay. I wasn't the most popular there'', Landon answered. ''yeah me neither''.
The boys stopped as they heard a something snap. Nick looked into the forest. ''Landon run'', he said as he saw eyes in the dark. Landon did as he was told.
It wasn't long before the wolf jumped ignoring Nick and went to Landon. Nick hurried and saw the wolf was going back to their normal self.
As they did, he saw a girl. A girl that he knows very well. ''Hope'', Nick said. ''Hope turned around and looked at Nick. ''Nick''.
Nick saw she was naked so he turned himself instant. ''uhm yeah. Here take my jacket''.
Nick looked at him and saw he himself was just wearing a shirt. As he forgot his jacket at the mill. He took of his shirt and gave it to Hope without seeing.
Hope took the shirt on, and it was long. So, it covered her very well. She turned to Landon, who also had his face turned.
''what the hell were you thinking, I could have killed you''. Landon turned back around ''sorry'', was all he said. She rolled her eyes and looked back to Nick. Noticing he didn't have anything on him on the upper part. ''you don't have anything on you''. He looked at himself. ''yeah I forgot my jacket at old mill, but it's cool I can handle it'', he said giving her a reassurance smile. ''come on let's get you inside before you freeze'', she said as she took his hand which made Landon a slight jealous.
---
Nick got a shirt from Mg. It didn't quiet fit right as he was a little more physical build then Mg, but it worked.
He went to the library to go and find the two, but they weren't there. So, he went to the transition cellar to see if they were there.
He was right. When he went down the stairs, he saw them. He saw Landon getting closer to Hope, that their lips smashed together.
His heart broke in two. It was like someone was right there beside him and took a knife in his heart, splitting them in two.
He looked down at the floor and left.
——
He was outside and devastated at what he had walked in on. He didn't know, but as started feeling that. His eyes glowed.
He was out there for about a minute, before he felt someone touch his shoulder. He looked behind him to see the girl that gave him a broken heart.
Hope's pov
''so, you and Nick a thing?'', Landon asked me. ''no, he's um he's my friend''. I heard him sigh. ''didn't look like it. The way you took his hand''. ''oh, no. Me and him are just friends. We've known each other for a long time''. ''still, people can like each other even though they are friends''. ''yeah, but... but we are just friends''. Landon looked up to me. ''okay since you and him are just friends and I won't remember anything tomorrow, right?''. ''yeah right. What is it''. ''then I can do this''. Before Hope could do something. Landon kissed her.
Landon just kissed me and I liked it, but there was also something that bothered me. I don't know what though. I said good night to him and went back up. As I stepped outside I saw Nick looking at the light on the sky.
3rd pov
She didn't know why, but it warmed her heart.
She touched him and he turned around.
Nick's pov
''Hope, hey'', I said with a hurtful tone. ''what's wrong?'', she asked. ''nothing''. ''there is something Nick. I have known you for a long time, to know something is up''. Nick sighed. ''Hope I'm fine let it go'', I said as I turned around to walk.
I got stopped as Hope pulled me, but I pulled back. As I did, she fell. She fell on me which resulted, I fell too. She fell on top of me and I under her.
I looked up to see she was starring at me. Our faces were only inches away from one another.
We came closer and closer, that our lips almost touched. Then she pulled away, before anything could happen.
She got up and I got up.
She didn't say anything and I didn't say anything.
I was looking down, as I noticed she looked in another direction.
I broke the silence. ''good to see you Hope. Have a good night''. And with that I left.
End of flashback
Nick's pov
''hello earth to Nick'', Raf said. ''yeah, sorry must have zoomed out''. ''yeah we saw. what were you zooming out for?'', Landon asked me. ''just um, when you and Raf came to the school''. ''oh, I remember. You were nice and that's when...'', then he got cut off by me. ''when you kissed Hope in the transition cellar''. ''you knew?''. I chuckled ''yeah I was heading down when I saw you came close and kissed her. I went outside and wasn't all happy about it. Then she came and saw something was wrong. I refused and was going to go, when she pulled me back which resulted I pulling back and we both fell. Then we both almost kissed, but she pulled away''.
''oh, damn. That must have hurt''. I looked at Jed. ''yes Jed it did''. ''Nick I'm sorry. I asked her if you and her were together, but she said you were friends. I didn't believe it, but I thought since I was going to forget. I could kiss her. So, I did. I didn't know you were there''.
Nick looked back at Landon. ''Landon it's okay. Like you said you didn't know, even though you didn't do anything wrong. Me and her were not together anyways, we were just friends at that time. Or at least we talked sometimes''.
''okay, enough with the past. Let's just live in the present as we also look at our future. So, now we are going to have some fun'', Rafael said.
''yes, I'm with that. Nick has finally gotten the love of his life so now stop talking about the past'', Jed said.
3rd pov
''okay, okay. I understand Jed. You're right I am happy. I am a supernatural, I go to the Salvatore school and most importantly I told Hope my true feelings and now she's my girlfriend. I couldn't be more happier''.
As Nick said that, he didn't know that a certain tribrid girl were listening to all of what's been said. She was smiling brightly as she laid on her boyfriend.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

The Chronicle of a Witch
It is a story about a young girl that abruptly transmigrated into the body of another young girl (at least in appearance) in another world filled with Magic. She notices that she becomes a Dungeon Master and for a thousand years... she lives a lazy life. However, one day, she lost all of her power and she is kicked out of her Dungeon! And the world's changed that video games level and classes governed the power system of the new world! What will she do as a weak and fragile girl? Will she get her power back? How will she survive in the harsh world? Author's note: I will update daily if possible and each chapter is around 2,000 words. Gores, Sexual Contents, and Traumatising Contents are limited and I try my best not to write them. However, for the progress of the story, I can't help but write some of them in the latter part of the story. However, don't expect them too much ^_^ English is not my native language, so there might be grammatical errors (maybe a lot), but I'll try to fix them, so constructive critiques will be appreciated (^_^)

Love, Napalm & Homicidal Fairies
When Nasilain started traveling between worlds, she hadn’t expected to get caught by a police officer. Nasilain: Traveling between worlds always filled Nasilain with dread. All those men with their friendly smiles and hundreds of questions. What was the last movie she watched? What music did she like? What country was she from? If Nasilain could use magic in this world, she would’ve blocked the flow of calcium ions in their jaw muscles just to shut them up. The scientific knowledge she could find on the internet using the free Wi-Fi in one of the local coffee shops forced her to tolerate the occasional interrogation. But even hipsters were better than Seth, the beefy police officer that caught her teleporting. Apparently, she wasn’t allowed to lie to him, which was fine as long as he didn’t ask about the clone. Seth: Seth had seen his share of bad luck. On normal days, it manifested as a shoulder injury that got him discharged from his SEAL team or wounding a civilian while on the police force. But landing in a parallel dimension with elves in neon green pants, a cute mad scientist with magical abilities, and swarms of carnivorous fairies? That was a first. At least Nasilain promised not to use her magic to split atoms. Content warning: This book DOES NOT contain zombie fairies. Everything else is fair game though.
