✨Friends by The Carters ✨

☑️

"Bestie!" Lay gripped her olive green PINK book bag tighter as she happily fast walked towards Samaria. She was waiting for her in the student union of Emory University. It wasn't her first choice but her parents weren't going to let her go to Clark Atlanta as she had wanted.

"Hi, bestie boo!" Samaria stood up, smiled, and embraced her best friend. The two had been close since they were roommates in the first year of college. Samaria was in her last year of nursing school while Chalynn was going to graduate with her degree in paralegal studies. If she liked that, she would go another three years to get her full law degree.

"You look cute as hell." Chalynn examined her best friend.

"Why thank you. You look like you ran here but wanted to look cute doing so," Samaria pointed her finger up and down at the attire she had on. "Let me guess. Dorian?" Samaria rolled her eyes.

"Girl yes. We're supposed to go work out today but, only after I meet with you for our 'study' session." Lay finally sat down across from Sam at the table.

"You say study like we don't study. Even though this is summer school and we only have two classes. We still study." The two girls had taken two extra classes over the summer to boost their gpa's and get ahead so they could cruise through senior year.

"So you say. What exactly do we study?" Chalynn raised her eyebrow at her best friend who had a hard time coming up with an answer.

"Easy. The gossip around these bitches and niggas who act just like bitches." Samaria had a point there, niggas were definitely the biggest bitches of 'em all.

"You never fail to crack me up miss ma'am. Look at you being a great friend." Lay noticed a venti Pink Drink and cheese danish warmed sitting in front of her.

"I do what I can." Samaria shrugged her shoulders and pulled out her Macbook.

"Back to you though. You seeing Toosie after this?" Lay pried, she loved hearing about Sam and Toosie. Mostly because she was dating a celebrity and them trying to keep it private due to her going to school was her favorite part.

"You know I am. I'm not sure what he has planned but I'll call you afterward with the details." sam stuck her tongue out and did a little dance.

"How do you do it, Sammy? Thousands of bitches throw themselves at him every day. How do you not get mad?" Chalynn asked seriously, she really was happy to know that he treated her with the utmost respect but how do men turn away women? Especially with that level of stature.

"They will never be in a position to get close enough to my man." She shrugged, and Chalynn nodded her head understandingly.

"Don't be mad at me but I have a question for you," Lay smirked clasping her hands together.

"Girl, what do you want? It better not be any rude shit either. Cause we can fight like we did freshman year." While Lay won the fight she didn't walk away without a busted lip and bruised eye.

"You have jokes today. But, I know I said I would never ask but Larry has really been on my ass and I need this job. Can you ask Toosie to come in for an interview? It would really help me get my raise." Chalynn smiled at her best friend sweetly and provided award-winning puppy dog eyes.

"Lay you know how I feel about asking Toot for stuff like that!" Sammy sighed but the look on her friend's face caused her to cave in, "Fine, I'll ask him but only because I know Flo will kick yo ass if you lose one of your jobs."

"Yes! Thank you so much." Chalynn reached over the table and hugged Samaria as they pulled away she kissed her forehead.

"MoMo?" A light skin girl walked over to their table, her skirt was hiked so far up you could see everything if she bent over. Chalynn looked over at the girl before responding.

"Oh my gosh. Breeze! You look just like you did when we were kids." Chalynn stood up before wrapping her arms around the girl nd taking another look at her.

Samaria didn't like her off rip, but she was far from a judgemental person. Breeze carried a permanent smirk on her face and Samaria felt her energy before she walked over to the table. Her outfit was the icing on the cake but the way she eyed Chalynn before walking over here and how Lay's body language tensed up at the sound of that nickname she knew the girl was trouble.

"Momo, me? Look at you, fine as ever even in work out gear. How've you been? Ian seen you since you came out the hood." Samaria studied the interaction but she decided to back down at how excited Lay looked to see her old friend.

"I've been good. Studying law here at Emory, what about you?" Chalynn didn't like speaking about her prior upbringing. At all. She so badly wanted to correct Breeze and tell her not to call her Momo anymore but she couldn't find the strength to do so.

"Me? Oh, I study um," Breeze looked around the student center at the different posters on the walls. "Psychology." She finished her statement with a smile and an assured nod.

My ass. Samaria thought to herself.

"Are you going to introduce me to your friend?" Samaria asked smiling as sweet as she could.

"Bree this is Samaria, my best friend. Bree and I go way back to pig tails and ponys." Breeze stuck her hand out to Sam who respectfully declined.

"As a nursing major, the amount of germs that come from shaking hands is ridiculous. It was nice meeting you though. Chalynn, you ready?" Samaria was now ready to go. The intruder wasn't trying to leave so she was going to make it a mission too. Chalynn looked at her best friend with a frown, Sam was typically a sweet girl so for her to give Breeze the cold shoulder meant something was off.

"Well, as a psychology major. I can tell when somebody is lying. It was nice to meet you too. Momo do you want to exchange phone numbers? Maybe we can catch up another time." Breeze rolled her eyes at Samaria who rolled her neck and crossed her arms. Chalynn exchanged numbers with Breeze before she and Samaria ended up sitting back down.

Breeze watched as the two girls laughed and enjoyed one anothers company. Chalynn was going to be her friend again.

Just wait and see.

✨Pressure by Ari Lennox✨

☑️

"Hey, Faith. Where yo pencil head brother?" Faith began to giggle as they did their typical handshake.

"Right over there. Be warned though, Dylan is here and she's in her complete bitch mood." Faith nodded her head toward the two who were sitting in the office, the conversation looked heated.

"What's her problem today?" Chalynn asked adjusting her gym bag on her shoulder. Her hair was currently in its natural state slicked up into a curly puff with her edges laid down.

"The usual. You are so pretty. I don't see how you deal with my brother and his madness." Faith expressed shaking her head. She stared at her a little longer before adverting her gaze. Faith had always liked girls for as long as she could remember, she just couldn't act upon it because of how strict her dad was.

Dorian played by his own rules, clearly.

Dorian and Dylan both came out of the office a little bit upset. Chalynn eyed the situation, even though she didn't particularly care for Dylan, she still wanted her man to be okay.

"Hey, baby. How are you? Dylan." Chalynn acknowledged both of them, she stood on her tippy toes placing a small peck on Dorian's lips burning Dylan's ass up completely. Dorian who didn't care what his wife thought at the moment pecked her lips a few more times.

"Good love and you?" He smiled at her, seeing Chalynn made his entire day, she was definitely one of his favorite girlfriends. He never kept more than three women by his side. All the women knew about each other and could quit at any time but they weren't allowed to see anybody else. There were a couple more rules too but we'll get into that.

"I'll see you at home?" Dylan asked mugging Chalynn. Dorian also made it very clear that he would never leave his wife. Some of the women before Chalynn couldn't withstand the pressure of being a third woman but for Chalynn, the perks that came with it were worth it. At least until she was ready to settle down but who knows how long that would take.

"Come on baby." Dorian grabbed her hand and gave Faith a wave to let her know that nobody should disturb them. He took her up the stairs to a different office where they would have more privacy than they would in the downstairs one, clearly. He locked the door and sat down in his chair.

Dorian kept all of his spaces clean, the mahogany teakwood candle she bought him for his birthday illuminated the room and left a scent that lingered in the air. His files were kept neatly on his desk, and everything was wiped down and vacuumed daily.

"I missed you," He said pulling her into his lap and kissing her neck softly. "You look good too girl damn," Dorian said making her smile. He loved everything about her, if he could he would marry her but it was something about Dylan he just couldn't let go.

"I missed you too baby but I saw you yesterday." She giggled turning around to look at him.

"That's true. Pull up a chair, let daddy rub your feet." He smiled, her little workout gear was cute and definitely flattered her shape but it had him wondering what it looked like off of her.

"Mhm! You know I love a good foot rub." She smiled getting up from his lap, but then he stopped her. "Actually, step aside lemme grab that chair for you." Dorian stood up and grabbed the chair for Chalynn and brought it close to him.

"Look at you being a gentleman." She joked sitting down in the chair, taking her shoe off, and setting her foot in his lap.

"Only for you. Tell me about your day bae." Dorian liked to spend one time with each of his partners. It helped with the intimacy and the girl's confidence in their arrangement. He was very attentive.

"I met up with Samaria at the student union and we did some work for our summer classes. You know nothing out of the ordinary. Oh, then this girl Breeze from my old neighborhood ran into me at the union and bae when I tell you it looked like she and Samaria were about to duke it out. Of course, I would defend Samaria by all means but Breeze got hands too." Lay closed her eyes, and her brown slender fingers gripped the side of the chair small moans left her mouth as he massaged her foot just right.

"Baby girl, focus," Dorian's throaty laugh let Chalynn know what she had done to him, not purposely though walking on her feet for what seemed like forever left her feet aching and he was hitting all the right spots. "Breeze, when's the last time you had spoken to her?" Chalynn's foot tensed as her brain processed the question, a question she didn't want to answer.

"It's been a long while." Dorian focused on Lay who had relaxed again under his touch.

"By the way, you tensed up. Do you think it's a good idea to be in touch with her again?" He asked causing her eyes to flutter open.

"That's something I would have to ask God about bae. Cause I'm not sure." Lay sighed rubbing her temples.

"Sam isn't my biggest fan but she's never been rude to me. Maybe there was a reason for her being defensive with that girl. I would definitely ask." He suggested rolling her chair even closer to him.

"Maybe I will." She smirked trying to take off the top to reveal her bra.

"Uh uh. Yeen ask me how my day went." Dorian mugged her, they were on the same page but he wanted to tell her about his day too.

"I'm sorry daddy. How was your day?" She cooed sweetly rubbing his goatee. He went on to tell her about some shit she didn't care about yet she listened to every word. Provided advice when needed and reassurance. Dorian caught Chalynn by surprise when she was talking. "Thank you, babe." He grabbed both sides of her face and kissed her.

"You welcome pooh." Dorian stood up again but this time he closed the blinds to the office. Chalynn's eyes began to drool as he lifted his white tee over his head.

It was time to work out but not in a typical way.

✨We Are Family by Sister Sledge✨

☑️

Chalynn reminisced the entire time she was in the bathtub soaking. Dorian had a schedule, on a certain week he would set it aside for that specific girl. You could see him whenever you wanted to, sleep with him, he would take you on dates. You could spend the night but when the clock strikes 12 am at the end of your week you had to be elsewhere so that he could be prepared to meet with the next girl and do the same thing.

It took Chalynn some time to get adjusted but the dick, gifts, love, and affection she received from her made it worth it to her. To her, men were going to sleep around anyways. Why not have an agreement about it?

Deep down inside though, she craved monogamy. She wanted a man all to herself, she wanted to get married and have kids and she couldn't do that with Dorian and that made her sad. She tried to keep her chin up about it though and live in the current moment.

Chalynn soaked in her bath a little while longer before draining the water and cleaning her body in the shower. Tonight was spaghetti night in the house which meant they had to eat dinner as a family. There were no if and or buts about it. If you weren't there for family dinner then your ass was grass.

Florence was known to be a little physically and emotionally abusive to her kids. Not so much now that they're older but during the child growth stages. It was horrible.

She stepped out of the scolding hot shower after drying herself off and walked out of the joint-connected bathroom into her own bedroom.

"Ouu you were freaking that nigga again weren't you," Marlee smirked crossing her legs and arms as she sat on her older sister's bed.

"Rode 'em like a racehorse." Lay twerked a little bit in her towel and stuck her tongue out. "Sike nah, he ate me as if his life depended upon it."

"Ayeee nasty bitch. I love it." Marlee got off the bed and began twerking with her sister both of them hyping each other up. "Anyways mom told me to come up here and tell you to hurry up. You have fifteen minutes." Marlee hugged her sister who started to scramble to get ready. She shoved the morning-after pill practically down her throat when Marlee finally left. Dressing in plain pajamas she scurried down the stairs to the dinner table.

"Hi pops!" Chalynn kissed her stepfather's cheek, ever since her own daddy had been gone he had stepped up to the plate to take care of Florence and her two kids.

"Hey, baby girl. We missed you at the firm today." Richard picked up the salad bowl and began to load his plate.

"I know I was at the student union. You know finals are coming up in a few weeks for these summer classes. Plus I told Kathy last week to switch my days for the next couple of weeks because of finals." Chalynn explained, he owned his own law firm while Flo was a stay-at-home wife.

"Yeah, babe you know how Kathy is. I keep telling you to replace her." Her mother chimed in, Kathy was an old racist bat she was family though so while Chalynn was in office she kept her racism to a minimum.

"I can't fire my mama Flo. You know that." Marlee loved when her parents argued, it took the heat off of them.

"So, Marlee. Do you need to go school shopping before school starts?" He asked her pouring parmesan on his spaghetti.

"Actually I do. I'll need new track shoes and training wear." The family made small talk about their plans for the week.

"Remember I have to go volunteer at the soup kitchen tomorrow. Marlee you coming with me?" Chalynn faced her sister who was slurping her noodles. Their mother took a wooden spoon and slapped the fork out of Marlee's mouth. Her lip began to bleed slowly so she sucked on it while she held back tears.

"Answer your sister." Chalynn's blood began to boil. She was sitting forward focusing on her breath. One wrong move and the salad bowl would've been upside Florence's head.

"No. I'll be at the library." Marlee blinked rapidly, her eyes glazing over with tears threatening to spill out of them. The rest of the dinner was quiet until they were dismissed to their rooms.

Chalynn was currently on the phone with Samaria who was catching her up on how Toosie had her bent in 25 different positions.

"Oh and guess what I talked to Jour and he said no." Samaria hid her face from the camera to keep from smiling.
