The tension in the air was noticeable as the day of the Pokémon world championship tournament finally arrived. The grand stadium was filled with cheering fans from all over the globe, eagerly anticipating the battles that were about to unfold. As the tournament began, trainers from all corners of the world stepped onto the battlefield, each one determined to claim victory. But the competition was fierce, and only the strongest and most skilled trainers would make it through to the group stage.

The official list of trainers who would be moving on to the group stage was finally announced, and the crowd erupted in cheers as the names were read out. Among the elite group were Alain, Alder, Ash, Bonnie, Cynthia, Diantha, Drake, Gary, Gladion, Iris, James, Kiawe, Kukui, Lance, Max, Paul, Ritchie, Sawyer, Steven, Tobias, Trip and Wallace.

The trainers were then divided into two groups, with group 1 consisting of Alain, Ash, Bonnie, Cynthia, Diantha, Drake, Kiawe, Kukui, Iris, Paul, and Sawyer. Group 2 was made up of Alder, Gary, Gladion, James, Lance, Max, Ritchie, Steven, Tobias, Trip, and Wallace. The environment was electric as the trainers prepared to face off against one another, each one determined to come out on top and claim the coveted title of Pokemon world champion.

The excitement continued to build as the tournament progressed. News channels were filled with coverage of the event, with every channel airing a helicopter shot of the Vertress City Stadium, where the grand finale was set to take place. The stands were packed with fans, each one cheering for their favourite trainer. The energy in the air was electric, and the atmosphere was truly one of a kind. It was a scene that would go down in history, as the greatest trainers from around the world came together to compete for the ultimate prize. The league had truly begun and the world was watching.

As Ash sat in the audience, his eyes were glued to the news screen where the scores would later be displayed. But as he watched the helicopter shot, he caught a glimpse of something mysterious.

"What could it be?" Ash thought to himself, but Serena was quick to notice his change in expression.

"What's wrong, Ash?" Serena asked.

"Oh, nothing. I just need to use the restroom," Ash replied, leaving with Pikachu on his shoulder. But as soon as Serena turned back to the screen, Ash quickly changed direction and headed outside.

He could sense a Pokémon sitting on a tree through his Aura. Ash approached the tree and the Pokémon spoke.

"What do you want?" it asked, irritated.

"What are you doing here?" Ash questioned.

"That's none of your business!" it retorted harshly.

"Well, if it's none of my business, then stop spying on me, my friends and my family," Ash replied. The Pokémon slowly revealed itself, it was Mewtwo, Giovanni's Mewtwo.

"I'm sorry, I killed many people and Pokémon, including your father. Will you forgive me?" Mewtwo asked. Ash smiled at the Pokémon.

"So, what do you say?" Ash asked, still with a bright smile.

"I want to learn what being human means," Mewtwo replied, its eyes filled with sincerity and its aura pure.

Ash was confused by the Pokémon's decision, but he picked up an empty Pokéball from his belt and enlarged it. Mewtwo touched the Pokéball, turning it into energy, and the ball absorbed it. Ash waited for the confirmation and Mewtwo was captured, but the ball disappeared as Ash exceeded the limit of six Pokémon.

Ash and Pikachu smiled at each other and returned to the stadium, but to their surprise, the match had already started and Sawyer wasn't holding back.
