《I Died and Got Summoned to Another World as a WHAT?!?!》Ep. 706 The Islands Part 15

Nala and I finish our food and curl up to go to sleep, but Brightfire doesn't join us. From the looks of it she is still playing around with her new system and is too excited to sleep. Then again, this is probably something she has wanted for a very long time.
Brightfire is still awake when I fall asleep, and in the morning when I wake up she is still awake. She has dark circles around her eyes, but that bright smile is still on her face. When she notices I am awake she quickly serves breakfast and afterwards she finally goes to sleep.
Leaving Nala to guard her while she sleeps, I head out to do some exploring. Now that I am alone I go back to the original plan of following the river into the depths of the island. To avoid becoming something's lunch I move up into the trees and jump from tree to tree.
While this puts me at bite height for the bigger things, I am hoping I am small enough to go unnoticed. After all the movies I have watched, I am most worried about raptors finding me. On the ground I would be hard pressed to deal with a full pack of them.
Even though it would be a pain to run into them, I still want to see them with my own eyes. Velociraptors were always my favorite dinosaur, closely followed by the T-rex. Both of which I would like to see, neither of which do I want to fight in my current state.
However, after moving a few miles from the lake I come across something else. While it isn't as big as a T-rex, it is still big enough to eat me in one bite, an allosaurus. It is basically a smaller version of the T-rex, only standing about twelve feet tall.
It's hide is a dull red in color and it is currently drinking from the river ahead of me. My first thought is to sneak past it, but as I am looking at it my mouth fills with saliva. For whatever reason, my new instincts are now telling me that I need to eat the allosaurus.

These are the same instincts that told me to play in the storm so I am inclined to trust them. The problem is, how can I kill a dinosaur that is twelve feet tall and can eat me in one bite. I obviously can't fight it physically, I barely come up to its ankle.
So, my only real option is to use magic to defeat it, but at the same time I can't let it attack me. After a quick look around I spot a tree with an extra dense amount of leaves. I quickly make my way over to it and hide in the leaves, this way the allosaurus shouldn't be able to spot me.
Once I am in position I start gathering all the heat out of the surrounding air using mana. I slowly and carefully build up a massive fireball directly above the allosaurus. Then, once it reaches the limit I can control, I drop it directly onto the dino's head.
There is a huge explosion and under the boom I can hear the allosaurus roaring. However, when the smoke and dust clears the allosaurus appears to be unhurt. In fact, its red hide is now much brighter and even giving off a low level glow.
That certainly isn't a dinosaur trait, but then again I am in another world. It is my own fault for thinking these would be the same as dinosaurs from my world. This allosaurus is obviously a fire type beast and I just gave it a great big meal.
The allosaurus is turning and roaring in every direction looking for its attacker. Luckily it doesn't spot me, hidden in my tree, or if it does it ignores me because I am small. Either way it gives me a chance to try again, but this time I won't use fire.
Instead I let my mana slip into the ground under the allosaurus and start gathering the natural static electricity. When I can't gather anymore I let it go and a lightning bolt rips up out of the ground. It passes through the allosaurus on its way to the sky and the dino twitches and whines as it does.

However, that isn't enough to kill it, but it does fall over after the bolt passes through it. Seeing that it is still alive I start gathering another bolt, but it takes a minute. The allosaurus gets up and starts walking away from the river, it has had enough it seems.
However, I am not about to let it get away, so I move the gathered energy after it. This time my aim is better and the lightning bolt passes right through the head of the allosaurus. It drops to the ground, twitches for a few minutes, and then goes still.
1 Allosaurus defeated! 250,000 Exp gained!
Once it has stopped moving at all for a minute I get down from the tree and slowly approach it. Only once I am completely sure that it is dead do I move in and start cutting it open. The hide is thick and takes me a minute to cut through with my claws.
I had planned to go straight for the heart, but as soon as I open it up I lose control. My first bite of the exposed flesh is a reward all in itself, it tastes absolutely amazing. All other thoughts vanish as I eat my way into the body, I can't bring myself to stop until I am stuffed.
The problem is that I stuff myself so much that I end up taking a nap right next to the body. My nap is rather rudely interrupted by scavengers coming after the body. Luckily, they aren't hard to scare off, but now I need to figure out what to do with the body.
While I would like to take it back to the cave, it is far too heavy for me to move it. Then I want to kick myself for being an idiot, two casts of Transport Barge later the body starts floating. I grab the tail and start pulling the body along behind me as I head back to the cave.
Brightfire comes outside and the look on her face when she sees me is hilarious! Nala looks excited when she sees the body of the allosaurus, she even starts wagging her tail. Of course, I had already planned on sharing it with her, but first I want to skin the beast.
As soon as she realizes what I am trying to do, Brightfire shakes out of her daze and moves to help me. Once we remove a portion of the hide Nala starts eating the exposed flesh. I get frustrated using my claws and shapeshift to help Brightfire finish the skinning.
Once the hide is removed, scraped, and put into the pouch we turn to butchering. The bones don't have any value, so we focus on claiming all the usable meat. As soon as that is done I drop shapeshift and start eating the heart, which I share with Nala.
Devour Activated: Strength +70, Endurance +40!
While the boost from devour is nice, something else starts happening after I finish eating the heart. My stomach starts warming up and the warmth quickly spreads throughout my body. The warmth quickly makes me sleepy so I go into the cave and take another nap.

Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
