Where are we now?

My moves have been made,

And I'm just on automatic.

Where are we now?

Alongside eternity?

Are we just waiting?

Last I heard we cycled round,

There were several answers I was graced with,

But now we're back,

Doing it all over again.

And the people,

Still seem the same,

Still following the path,

And the people,

Within each contained,

A sort of confidence.

Well, at least I have it,

Maybe hell is still hell.

I feel as if I'm standing on solid ground,

But maybe in other places,

The feeling's still fresh.

I can still laugh,

Understand emotion.

Somewhere deep down,

I remember the yearning,

And sometimes,

I offer a prayer.

If hell does still exist,

This I would say,

As consolation,

As a time tested solution,

For the creek you’re crossing,

The car you’re driving,

Just follow the path,

Laugh when you can,

And don’t hesitate.

If hell still does exist,

You should know,

God built that road himself.
