《To Be Loved By A Mikaelson | Hayley Marshal》Mr. To The Rescue

Gabriel, Caroline, and Klaus rush down the busy road during a giant parade where everyone is wearing red marching the streets. "We've searched the entire French Quarter. Finn has vanished. I can't remove the barrier that has you trapped until I have my hand around his throat." Klaus spits into the phone.
Gabriel hears Marcel sigh. "I was hoping you had a Plan B."
"Davina. She doesn't know it yet, but she's going to help me break his spell. Your job... Keep Kol alive. At least until we learn Rebekah's whereabouts." Klaus says.
Gabriel rolls his eyes snatching them phone from his obnoxious brother. "My daughter will have a choice, you're not forcing her to do anything and as for you Marcellus keep my brother alive at all costs if you would."
Gabriel's annoyance dials down as he hears the mans slight wince over the phone and his quite sigh. "Marcellus, is everything alright?"
The two other people following him down the street pause their movements along with Gabriel. "Yeah. Listen... when I was getting the werewolves out, I got bit."
Both Gabriel and Klaus close their eyes in sync feeling beyond stressed. "Either Klaus or I will get you our blood. Just hang on, ok?" And with that he hangs up, meeting eyes with a sympathetic Caroline that reassures him with a squeeze to the shoulder.
—
Klaus paces around the front of the church while Davina sets up a magical circle with runes made of salt on the floor in front of the pews. "Haven't you found Finn yet?"
Davina ignores him and sends her dad an annoyed look.
"Niklaus." Gabriel groans in annoyance as well.
"I must say, for a witch of your caliber, your spells are not particularly efficient little witch." Klaus barks but winces when Gabriel smacks him hard enough to leave a bruise on a human. "I apologize, I'm frustrated is all."
Davina sighs. "Finn is blocking my locator spell. So, I'm trying something new. But, I need to concentrate, and it would help a lot if you would stop standing over me like a stalker."
"No need to get testy, love. We both have the same goal." Klaus sighs.
Gabriel takes a seat in the front row of the pews and pats the spot next to him for Caroline to join as they watch the two bicker back and fourth.
"Don't you regret not becoming apart of this family?" Gabriel sarcastically mumbles to the blonde.
"There are certain aspects I miss." Caroline genuinely responds with a twinkle in her eyes that makes Gabriel glance back twice.
"And what is that?" He leans in, in curiosity.
"The Mikaelsons protect each other no matter what. You all are constantly fighting but ready to go to war at any time to save each other. It's admirable." She confesses.
"It's tiring." He corrects. They both zone back into the witch and hybrid when they hear chanting.
"We du le mon ennemi en temps. We du le mon ennemi en temps." Davina slightly gasps As she chants, Gabriel immediately stands outside of the circle ready to catch her if she should fall.
When her eyes snap open she looks extremely concerned and looks towards her father. "I saw glimpses of him. He's combining sacred objects. Totems. Representational magic."
"Where?" Klaus questions eagerly.
Davina dives back into her visions and a few seconds later she responds. "Lafayette No. 1. The Lyonne tomb."
"What's he using, little witch?" Gabriel softly questions.

She's quiet for another couple of seconds before snapping her head up to her father with wide eyes. "He's channeling your parents!"
Klaus has a comical smile on his face and claps loudly, "And here I thought I was the poster-child for least grateful offspring. Well, then. Shall we go crash their little party?"
"Caroline stay here." Gabriel says as he starts walking forward. But Caroline's hand quickly stops him.
"Stay here?! Why can't I come with?" She glares at him.
Pinching the bridge of his nose he exhales as Klaus and Davina watch from behind them. "Because my brother is very clearly unstable, he will do anything to hurt us. And frankly I'm not putting you up for grabs so-"
Gabriel suddenly stops talking, his brows furrowing. Davina notices Klaus' breathing get heavy.
"I'm not a fragile China doll Gabriel." Caroline huffs, before seeing him stumble. "Gabriel?"
She catches him before he falls and Davina just barely manages to make Klaus' impact a bit softer. Smacking his cheek lightly she starts to panic. "Gabriel!"
Klaus' phone behind to ring so davina pulls it out of his pocket and realizes it's Cami. "Is everything okay?"davina immediately answers, worried about the baby but unwilling to say it out loud on the off chance that someone was listening to them.
"Davina? Why are you answering Klaus' phone?" Camille questions in confusion.
"Because I can't wake him up. Dads down too"
"What? Elijah collapsed, too. What's going on?" Camille states in panic.
Caroline and Davina meet eyes as she has a dawning realization and groans. "Ugh, I'm an idiot! The spell Finn used was to trap his brothers... Meaning Kol's in trouble."
Caroline had already softly placed Gabriel's body on the ground so that she could call Marcel to ensure Kol's safety. Kol wasn't a very big priority on her personal list but he was important to Gabriel and Davina.
"What do we do?" Camille gasps.
"I have no idea." Davina sighs looking to a helpless Caroline for help.
—
Meanwhile in the astral plane Gabriel was about to fall asleep from his brothers nonsense.
"At the very least, this prison is a bit more comfortable than the box you held me in for... almost nine hundred years?" Finn states with venom laced in his voice.
"Give it a rest." Gabriel groans.
Klaus gestures to the walls. "The heads are a nice touch. Let me guess... .. I'm the big, bad wolf? Kol, the wiley fox. Elijah is the noble stag, and you, fittingly enough, are the boar! Bit obvious, as far as symbolism goes..."
"Oh... and I the Mother bear." Gabriel grumbles.
"Why are we here? Don't tell me... It's about Mother? I didn't force her to drink blood and betray everything she holds dear. That was her choice." Klaus rants.
Meanwhile Gabriel was staring at Kol's necklace pleading in his head that there was still at-least a small amount of magic left seeing as Kol was very human at the moment and it would be very easy for Finn to take him out.
"This isn't about Mother, this is about you. I want you to know how it feels to be powerless! So, I'm going to take the thing that matters most to you: the city you've come to love so much."
"Are we quite done here? You will release us now." Elijah demands.
Finn chuckles. "I will! After sundown. Because at sundown, when the marchers of Carillon Eve take to the streets, my barrier spell drops. Marcel and his hungry vampires will be unleashed to kill their way through the Quarter! I imagine that, after their atrocities, the supernatural community of New Orleans will be forced to find another place to call home."

"Where did I go wrong with all of you?" Gabriel mumbles to himself.
"Look, I don't care about the city. What I care about is that my very human body is laying at the feet of some very hungry vampires. Your fight is with them, it's not with me!" Kol exclaims with a slight plead in his voice.
Finn narrows his eyes at the youngest brother of them all. "All you care about is your own fragile mortality. But, what if you were made vulnerable? What then? What if your big brother couldn't protect you?" Finn flicks his wrist, and Kol's body tenses up, unbeknownst to them all Gabriel had done a little flick of the wrist at the same exact time as Finn reflecting the hex off of his brother and into the necklace. Kol's nose began to bleed and Gabriel's body relaxes as he subtly wiped the blood from his own nose.
"Will dear brother be able to save you from this one? Have you ever wondered if it came down to it who would Gabriel choose, you or his dear baby sister Rebekah?" He taunts.
Kol grunts. "Okay. Point made. Now, nobody loves a joke like old fox boy here, but if you could just get me back to my body..."
"I must confess, I rather enjoy watching you twist in the wind." Elijah muses as he hands him a handkerchief. "Not unlike the way you left Rebekah, I imagine."
"Yes! What did you do to Rebekah?" Finn points at Kol.
Kol shuffles nervously under the stare of all his brothers. "For goodness sake, she crossed me, so I crossed her back! Look, if you could just get me back to my body, I will tell anybody anything that they need to know!"
Finn laughs. "How narrow-minded of me! Rebekah. You don't know where she is, and the only thing standing between you and our sister is this selfish fool. Maybe it's time for you to go enjoy the rest of your mortal life while you still can." Finn makes a fist with his hand, which sends Kol back into his body.
—
"So, what shall we talk about while we wait for nightfall? Oh! I know! Let's talk about our parents." Finn mockingly gasps.
Gabriel gestures for klaus to stand from the couch which he does, only to elicit an eye roll from the hybrid when he sprawls his body across the couch and closes his eyes as if taking a nap.
"You know, I figured you wouldn't be kind to Mother, but imagine my surprise to learn that Mikael met the same fate! Bravo, brother." Klaus deviously applauds.
Finn shakes his head. "You see, the parent I was interested in talking about was your father. Your real one? I mean, you longed to know him your whole life, yet at the first opportunity, you murdered him! Why, I wonder?" Finn hums in curiosity.
Gabriel hears Klaus' footsteps near Finn. "Possibly the same reason you took out Esther. Severing parental ties has a way of freeing one up to recognize one's true potential."
Gabriel zones them all out until he hears Finn. "...You know, if I didn't know better, I'd say you were hiding something from me. Something big. Something dark. Maybe your real father found out what it was, and you had to kill him."
Gabriel sits up and gets ready to intervene if needed. Klaus's face becomes furious. "You want to know why I killed my father?"
"Yeah!" Finn yells.
"Because when blood relations let me down, I don't stop to reason with them, I remove them." Klaus spats.
Finn's face falls and he humorlessly chuckles. "So, the secret is there is no secret? You long for nothing, care for no one? The problem is, brother, I don't believe you. It's clear to me that you're hiding something. And, as I control your presence here, we've got all the time in the world to figure out just what that might be."
Finn walks away from the brothers and Gabriel sees klaus' face become one of fear and anger. When his brother meets his eyes he subtly shakes his head letting his brother know not to worry.
—
"It's a shame, really, for you to lose New Orleans. You've worked so hard to make this city a home. On the other hand, this city hasn't given you much in the way of good fortune. You have Marcel's betrayal, Father's attack, the loss of your child..." Finn continues to goad him.
Elijah looks towards his brother in worry. "It is a delicate craft. Representational magic. One must be ever so precise. If you misrepresent us, the very enchantment that this room was built upon would collapse, would it not?"
"I assure you, you have not been misrepresented." Finn narrows his eyes.
Elijah gains Gabriel's attention with his next sentence. "Well, that depends upon how well the hunter knows his prey. This façade, this illusion that I have created over the course of my life, the noble stag... Is nothing more than a deception. To myself. To everyone." He turns to klaus. "If I were a truly noble brother, I would not withheld from you a vile deed. One that I, like a coward, allowed Mother to erase from my memory. It was I who killed Tatia."
Gabriel's eyes widen, even he didn't know that. Klaus is stunned by this confession, and the room starts to shake and warp. I hunted her down, and mercilessly, I feasted upon her flesh. I tore her from us. Mother took the blame. "Brother, I felt certain if you knew, you would in no way forgive me."
Elijah looks ashamed of himself and klaus looks at him sadly. In attempts to console his brother he places a hand on his shoulder.
"The act may be reprehensible, but your admitting to it proves you to be the man I thought you to be! My magic stands!" Finn gestures around the room, though you can see him become slightly nervous.
"Does it?" Klaus smiled weakly. "It turns out my brother is even more depraved than I am. He is the noble stag no longer. Indeed, another altogether different beast is creeping through the cracks. And you have also failed in your representation of me, because there is one thing you have never thought me capable of."
As Klaus looks to elijah with a small smile Gabriel couldn't be more proud of his brothers in this moment. "Forgiveness."
The room begins to shake and Finns facial expression becomes one of fright. Gabriel stands. "Finn, I am not the mother bear." Though he keeps a straight face as he stares at his brother all of them can see the sorrow behind his eyes. "I failed to protect you, and I failed to protect her. For that I will forever be sorry."
Finns eyes widen when he hears him and Elijah and klaus look towards him in confusion.
"While I'm sorry brother but You, Finn, have remained a boar for centuries, but here is where your true fault lies: You never learnt that the bonds of family far outweigh anything else! Such bonds trump petty jealousies. They overcome ancient feuds. And, yes, they are capable of allowing one monster to pardon the great sins of another." Gabriel finishes.
All of the animal heads except the boar suddenly go up in flames.
Finn looks stunned. "How is this possible?"
"Your magic is as flawed as your perception of your own siblings. I wonder, just how untouchable are you?" Klaus teases as him and Elijah lunge at him but before they reach him Gabriel channels the magic from the room and returns them all to their bodies.
—
As soon as Gabriel awake Davina gives her father a tight hug with worry etched on her face. "What happened? Is Kol okay?"
Klaus scoffs from beside the three. "I'm fine, thank you for your concern. The same, however, can not be said for your friends and the people of the French Quarter. Now, I can stand here and explain to you the specifics, or you can show uncle Nik a little trust and come with me."
Davina glares at him jokingly and sassily grabs her coat. "I'm the one who's been waiting for you to move your ass. Let's go."
She pushes past Klaus and heads for the compound and he's quick to follow.
"Language!" Gabriel scolds and caroline simply chuckles and pulls the pouting man along.
—
The four arrive around the parade of marchers and look around for anything out of the ordinary.
"Everything's fine out here." Davina confusingly states.
"That's even more worrisome" Gabriel utters.
"You look around, I'll see if I can track them down." Klaus says to his brother and Caroline.
As Klaus starts to leave Caroline notices Davina running towards Kol and kissing him. Gabriel face turns to one of horror and he opens his mouth to yell at the two but Caroline speeds the two in the same direction Klaus had left.
—
Gabriel grunts in annoyance and a bit of sadness when they stop just outside of Marcel's loft where Klaus had gone inside. "Caroline-" He groans but stops when he sees her stern expression.
"Gabriel Mikaelson! She loves that man and you have no right to keep them apart. You understand me?" She glares with her hands resting on her hips.
He deadpans at her for a couple seconds before she yelps in surprise when she's slightly pushed against the wall.
She gapes at him as he firmly holds her hips to the wall and stares down at her small figure. "I wasn't finished!"
"I am." He utters before smashing his lips against her own. She gasps but kisses back nonetheless.
He groans when she burrows her hands into his hair and pulls.
A throat clearing makes Caroline gasp in horror and shove Gabriel away, whom simply loudly sighs and rolls his eyes.
"Yes Aiden?" Gabriel growls in annoyance.
"I'm here to speak to Klaus..." He nervously states looking between the two.
Klaus walks out with a sarcastic smile. "Ah! The cavalry has arrived! And right on time. No doubt eager to save your precious Josh. Don't mind my brother out here, he has some pent up anger."
Caroline's face sightly turns red and Gabriel flips his brother off.
"Yes. Just tell me what you need." Aiden slightly nods, ignoring the last part of the hybrids statement.
"You can start by questioning your wolves. Find out what Finn has done with Marcel and his vampires." Klaus demands with a slightly impatient look in his eyes.
Aiden sighs. "Well, I would, but most of the wolves took off for the Bayou, waiting for Hayley and Jackson to finish their wedding trials."
At that Gabriel's heart slightly plummets and he pushes away any sadness he may feel. It's her decision, he needed to live with it.
"And what trials might those be?" Klaus curiously questions.
Aiden shrugs, not realizing what he was going to potentially cause. "Your basic old-school werewolf stuff. They go out into the woods and smoke this blue calamus root out of a peace pipe."
Klaus and Gabriel's face becomes concerned. "Blue calamus? A rather specific plant. Known by many for its unique properties as a truth serum. In generations past, it was used as among the wolves for divulgement rituals. Ancient rites where secrets are confessed. I don't suppose they mentioned such a thing?"
Gabriel finally lifts his head to meet Caroline's eyes in realization.
"They just said they had to do a bunch of rituals and ceremonial stuff." Aiden huffs, annoyed with all the questions.
"And where exactly did Jackson take Hayley?" Klaus innocently questions.
"No, Niklaus." Gabriel takes a step forward.
"Back country. Deep Bayou. Why?" Aiden looks towards the three suspiciously.
"That'll be all. I'm going to have a little chat with the bride-to-be. Remind her that some secrets need to stay buried." He spats.
Before Gabriel even blinks his brother is gone and he ushers the blonde vampire next to him to follow, all three leaving a very confused wolf standing near the loft.

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw
