《To Be Loved By A Mikaelson | Hayley Marshal》MR. RE-WRITTEN PAST

A girl with long brown hair wearing a white night gown frantically runs for safety towards a large white door. Gabriel is shirtless and covered in blood. He slowly stalks towards her, an emotional less expression on his face as he hears her whimpers from fear. She desperately attempts to open the door.
When she turns around, its revealed that its Hayley. Who looks back towards him with a terrified expression as she continues to pound on the door. Her bloody hands staining the white door.
Gabriel finally grabs her by the arm and turns her toward him, but it's no longer Hayley, it's Marie. He grabs her by the hair and turns her neck toward him before vamping-out and feeding on her as she cries in protest.
—
Gabriel wakes up, still chained in the crypt and looks around in confusion as to what he just saw. He uses what little strength he has to yank on his chains but they don't break
Esther walks in drinking a cup of tea. "Have you forgotten where you are, son? Save your strength. My chains don't break so easily."
She points above his head and Gabriel's body slumps as he sees a large poppet hanging from the rafters, magically preventing the chains from breaking. He knows there's no point.
"Having sweet dreams?" She taunts.
He lunges for her but the chains restrain him from getting even close to her. "Get out of my head."
Esther smirks. "I'm not in your head, dear. You were screaming. Go ahead, get your bearings. We have much to discuss."
She leaves the room and he continues to try to break the chains.
—
"Who were you dreaming about ripping apart when you woke earlier? Was it your new little plaything, Hayley? Or, was it someone else?" Esther questions.
He continues in his attempts to launch at her but its no use. "Oh, stop fighting, Gabriel! I brought you here to listen, and you're not going anywhere until I've said my piece."
"So speak." Gabriel spats venomously.
"I want you to rejoin our family, but as a witch only. I want you to leave behind the grotesque savage vampirism and being a werewolf has made of you. Take the body of a mortal, and we can all be happy again. Start over." She offers.
"You do know you're entirely demented, don't you?" He dryly muses.
She laughs. "Am I? I'm not the one who pulls the wings off of every beautiful butterfly that he finds. Like the woman who flits across the edge of your nightmare."
"Let me go. Now." His bright amber eyes shine.
"Hmm. How quickly you slip back into your more savage self. The moral son I raised is now but a mask worn to hide ancient demons." She hums.
"You know nothing!" He spits. "This is coming from the woman that has ruined each and every one of her children for her own selfish gain."
Esther ignores his last statement. "See, that's where you're wrong. I know more about the secrets you carry than you do. Shall I list them? I can begin with the first little butterfly you destroyed. The sweet young Pedro a from our village who caught your eye when you were still human."
Gabriel looks unfazed. "I am not my little brothers. You can not haunt me with memories that I do not miss. that woman was an annoying, nagging, harlot."
"And what of Marie Claire?" She questions. Smiling in satisfaction when his entire face turns red.

"DO NOT SPEAK HER NAME FROM YOUR DIRTY MOUTH!" He yells.
"How did she die?" She curiously questions.
"I presume you already know." He scoffs. "She was killed for being a witch."
"I know that's what you believe... which is precisely why you are here." She says and he narrows his eyes in suspicion. "I need to show you the monster you really are. When I do, you will beg for salvation, and happily I shall provide it."
She casts a spell on a long white candle she had picked him and he's transported into a flashback.
Esther and Gabriel stand in a the shadows of a memory he recalls so often. But this time they can hear the whispers of the Coven elders.
Gabriel lifts Marie up and spins her in the air, her innocent laughs ringing through out the small field away from the cemetery.
"She's fraternizing with a Mikaelson!"
"She's becoming too powerful."
"Her family will not allow her to participate in the harvest!"
"We need to get rid of her with out starting a war."
The elders watch as he leans down to give her a chaste kiss. Getting down on one knee he looks up with bright hopeful eyes. "Marry me?"
Esther blows out the candle, breaking the flashback as Gabriel attempts to shake himself out of that daze. He hadn't heard the whispers that day. He had never been more confused in his life. Her family and most of the coven supported them, they said he was nothing like his family. Or so he thought.
"But, that was just the beginning. A brief moment of happiness. That is how it always begins. A butterfly lands upon your finger, unaware that it will lead to her tragic end." Esther whispers.
Gabriel shakes his head. "Her tragic end came when the unknowing humans accused her of being a witch>"
Esther sighs in frustration. "Actually, Gabriel, your memory doesn't serve you at all. You just don't realize it yet." She caresses his face and he jerks away. "But, by the time we are done here, you will."
—
Hayley arrives to Marcels loft and sees him pouring himself a drink. "So, those werewolf kids you helped get out of the Quarter made it to the safe house up north."
"Great! My good deed for the decade." he hands her a drink.
Hayley holds her hand up declining the drink. "No, I'm good. Maybe the vampires and us free wolves can work together after all."
He smiles in amusement. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend!"
"Anyway, thanks... for helping." She trails off awkwardly, never expecting to thank marcel of all people. Though she had come to appreciate his presence.
He shakes his head. "Don't thank me. Thank Gabriel."
Hayley frowns looking to the ground. "I would have, but I can't get a hold of him. I went to the compound, thinking he'd be there... and his apartment."
"Really? I thought you always have tabs on him?" Marcel looked genuinely surprised.
"I mean, we haven't really been on the best terms lately. That's my fault but He wouldn't just disappear, though." She says quietly.
Marcel thinks back to earlier in the day. "Uh, last I knew, he was gonna keep the wolves distracted. Your boy Oliver was gonna help."
Hayleys head snaps up in worry. "I couldn't track down Oliver, either. If they're both missing..."
She realizes they were both in trouble and turns to leave. "Where you goin'?"
"To find them." She says determined.
"Not on your own, you're not. Gabriel would murder me." Marcel sighs.
Right when they're both about to leave the loft she grabs his arm to stop him. "Oh, and Marcel? He wouldn't murder you. He still thinks of you as a son."
—
Gabriel starts falling asleep just as Esther re enters the crypt. "You're hungry, aren't you? It's been hours since you fed. What an awful thing, to feed upon the blood of others. For this, I blame myself. And your father. We tried to make you children strong. But, instead, we cursed you all."
"I fail to see your point, here." He deadpans.
"You're magic is a fickle thing." She randomly states.
"What are you going on about now?" Gabriel sighs in exhaustion.
"No vampire should be able to have magic. Let alone a werewolf. And yet here you are... all three. Nature always finds a balance. How do you have your magic?" She ponders. "What are your weaknesses?"
Gabriel simply rolls his eyes, tired of her mind games.
"Could your magic be manipulated?" She guesses. " The week leading up to Maries death... Did your younger brother need your help? Perhaps help in the form of that little necklace you two share?"
Gabriel looks up in surprise. How would she know that?
"When you transfer your magic through the necklace it leaves you weak. you're magic doesnt recover as fast as a normal witches but its so much more powerful." She shakes her head. "When your magic is weak your mind is weak. What could happen when your mind is weak? When a strong coven takes advantage of you? You think you have it all under control? You do things you'd never think you'd do. People you wouldn't hurt. But, you're wrong. That is what I'm here to show you."
Gabriel sprints to the middle of the field where Marie lay, beaten and bloody. A group of humans all running off from the girl. "Marie!" He shouts as he picks her up. "Please be okay."
"Get away!" She screams with tears leaking down her cheeks.
"It's just me darling." He whispers.
She shakes her head, trying to pull her weakened body away from him.
"You knew how special she was! I always thought you would protect her. Watching you two from the other side. She was supposed to be your wife, one day I might have called her daughter! Instead... " She trails off.
"I didn't hurt her!" Gabriel screams in anger.
"You've taught yourself to hide from who and what you are for a thousand years!" She raises her voice at his struggling form.
" I did not hurt Marie! I could never!" He shouts.
"But you did!"
"Gabriel!" Marie shouts as he falls to his knees in pain holding his head. "Gabriel what's going on?"
They had been going on a night stroll in the gardens. She was wearing a white night gown and he was wearing his night pants. They were about to go to bed but she suggested going for a walk beforehand. All of his siblings had gone to the opera, Gabriel and Marie denying their invitations.
"Marie!" He shouts in pain. "I don't know what's happening to me."
His canines extend and his vampire face came out. "AH!" He screams in agony.
"Oh, my beautiful boy. No more hiding. It is time, now, for you to remember it all." Esther whispers to him.
Marie places her hand on his shoulder when he suddenly slumps and his screaming ceases. As soon as her hand comes into contact with him his head snaps up and Marie backs away in terror.
His face was blank of emotion, no signs of the love and adoration he usually showed when he looked at her. Suddenly he screams again scrunching his eyes together in pain. "RUN!" He screams.
"G-Gabriel what is happening?" Marie yells in panic. Tears springing to her eyes.
"Somethings trying to enter my mind, RUN MARIE!" He screams and she flees with tears rolling down her cheeks.
"You didn't want to hurt her. You loved her." Esther cooes.
No matter how fast she ran, Marie's speed was no match to his.
Gabriel caught up to her in the forest where she had fled as far as she could and he grabs her by her hair, yanking her head back to expose her neck.
"But, you couldn't fight what you had become. What I had turned you into! What the elders made you do." She continues.
Gabriel ferociously bites into her neck, his hands bruising her neck and hip as well in a terrifying grip.
" A predator. And she became your prey!" Gabriel yanks himself out of Esthers grip and glares at her. "The humans killed her! I wont listen to another word."
Esther stares at him blankly. "You don't have to listen, son. All you have to do is remember."
—
Hayley and Marcel had gone to the parking garage where the three men had last been and all that was left was a traumatized Elijah and dozens of dead wolf bodies.
She calls Klaus as a last resort. "Uh, I'm a tad busy. What is it, Hayley?" Klaus answers.
"Something has happened to Elijah. His eyes are open but he isn't responsive he looks traumatized. He and Gabriel were supposed to be our decoy last night, and now he's vanished and Elijahs in this state. There's blood everywhere werewolf and vampire. There's a trail. I need you to help us track it." Hayley whispers as Marcel places Elijah over his shoulder.
Klaus sighs. "Well, as much as I might like to help you find my brother, I have more pressing matters as the moment."
Hayley looks around desperately and frustrated. "What's more important than your own brother?"
"My life? Davina had Mikael on a magical leash, and it broke. Now Mikael has Tunde's blade, the white oak stake, and Cami." Klaus explains. Marcel looks up, enraged at this news. "I'm gonna get her back. And then, I'm gonna end this. Either Mikael or I will be ash by day's end. And, if you do find my brother, please, tell him I could do with a hand?"
And he hangs up.
—
"You're distorting my memories! It was the humans who killed Marie!" Gabriel yells in a raspy tone. "You can't rewrite history!"
"No, I cannot. And I did not. It was the elders." She explains. "After taking over your mind they erased all memories you had of the event and replaced them with new ones so that you would not hunt them all down."
"You had cleaned yourself up. And you pretended to come back that day, with no knowledge of her death." She says.
"STOP!" Gabriel pleads.
"How long before it's your beloved Hayley's corpse behind that door? The white door that hides everything bad you've done but couldn't face?" She says again.
"Stop." He begs in a whisper.
"You must be afraid that... that loving you will destroy her! As it destroyed Marie. Take my offer. Both of you. In new bodies, you will be alive again! You could give her a child, to replace the one she lost." She offers.
That's when Gabriel snaps out of the allure of her offer. "You will not break me."
" Oh, you are already broken, my dear boy, but not beyond repair. I am here to fix you. I am here to fix you all." She smiles.
—
"No more." Gabriel begs.
"I'm afraid we've just begun. You will hang here, remembering. Every atrocity you've hid behind that door will emerge to haunt you. And, as you grow weaker, you will be ripped of your strength, your will, your hope. And, as you rot here, alone, you will reconsider my offer. A new life. A way to be freed of your demons. A chance at peace." Esther nearly teases.
Hayley speeds into the crypt, biting esthers neck and feeding on her until she falls to the floor. Hayley glances up at Gabriel with a relieved smile. "Huh! That's about enough of that, don't you think? I would have ripped her heart out, but she would have just body jumped."
She walks towards Gabriel who was sagging from relief and attempts to break his chains. "How do I get these off?" She questions.
He weakly points at the object above him. "The doll, up there. Break it. She's using it to bind me."
Hayley reaches up and grabs the doll, tearing it in half. She then breaks his chains and kneels in front of him to check his health. "You need to feed."
Gabriel whips his head away from her. "I can't..."
"You're weak." She simply says, proceeding to bite her wrist and place it near his mouth.
"I can't! I crave you. My hunger, it could overwhelm me." Gabriel gasps looking at her wrist in hunger.
Hayley softly caresses his face. "Look at me. I'm not afraid."
She leans forward and pulls him into a kiss. Gabriel begins to have trouble resisting her neck and she moves her hair to the side to expose her neck to him.
When he sees her pulsing heartbeat he bites into her neck to feed.
In reality Vincent was kneeling in front of a sleeping Gabriel, waving his hand in front of his face. His eyes were still open but they were blank. "What'd you do to him?"
"I let him dream." She simply responds.
Finn stares at Gabriel. "That's... considerate of you."
He stands up, joining his mother at the table looking conflicted. "I cannot lead him out of darkness by simply exposing him to the horrors of his past. I have to let him bask in his version of a better world to come."
Gabriel stops feeding on Hayley staring at her as she pants in pleasure. His veins in his eyes darken again and he feeds from her once more as she tightly grips onto his shoulders, allowing him to continue.
"And by the time he wakes, he will know the only way to find peace is my way." Esther continues to watch the man dream but Finn looks concerned.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)
