《To Be Loved By A Mikaelson | Hayley Marshal》Mr. Hurt

Standing in Klaus' study Gabriel intently watches as his brother gives Genevieve a few pages out of Esther's grimoire that tells her everything she needs to know to complete the moonlight rings. Genevieve analyzes the papers, only looking towards Klaus after a few moments. "Your mother's spell is as complicated as it is elegant. She was clearly a very gifted witch."
Gabriel, too stressed to laugh like he normally would've done when Klaus snatches the page from her hand and points at it, stares down at the ground in contemplation. "Is this the bit, here?"
Genevieve glares at the hybrid and snatches it back in annoyance. "Hey! Like I said, it's complicated. She bound protection magic to black hyanite stones. A werewolf with the stones is free from turning on a full moon."
"And what of the improvements?" Gabriel finally breaks his silence. He was impatiently waiting for this witch to leave, he just needed her out of ear shot because he and his brother needed to have a very serious conversation.
"This spell will enhance speed, strength, and agility." Genevieve assures the both of them. But Klaus is unsatisfied. "There should be something in there about fangs, it's what our mother used on us when she turned us into vampires."
She shakes her head. "Not just fangs, you said you want venom, so the bite is still lethal to vampires."
Klaus smiles, victoriously as Genevieve places the pages back onto the table. Looking towards Klaus again, Gabriel can see the jealousy in her eyes. "Here. It should make a nice gift. I'm sure Hayley will be thrilled."
"Not just Hayley. You'll be making quite a few of these. Lets call it an even hundred." He smirks.
Genevieve frowns, taking a slight step back. "That's not the deal I made with Elijah."
Gabriel blocks out the rest of their terrible bickering as he tries to find a solution to all of his problems. He only zones back into reality when the red headed witch stomps out of the room. "Niklaus." He whispers, only lifting his head to show his brother how serious he was in this moment.
"What is it now?" Klaus sighs in frustration.
"I have a bad feeling about today." He confesses.
"I thought I was to be the paranoid one, brother." Klaus rolls his eyes.
"I have a bad feeling about today." He states again, only with all of his worry and seriousness showing. "And I am weak. I transferred most of my magic and strength to Kol on the other side so that he could evade or possibly beat father." Gabriel admits, staring down to the ground in thought as Klaus' jaw drops. It's not that he regretted giving Kol his strength. He would never take back anything he's done to protect Kol or Rebekah. It just couldn't have come at a worst time.
"The man is dead Gabriel." Klaus stresses, all of his plans shifting in his head. "And when we may need you to fight the most as well."
"He saved your child and its mother have some respect!" Gabriel seethes, immediately stopping Niklaus' before he could go into a whole rant. "And he is still our brother, mind your manners. Maybe he wouldn't despise you so much if you didn't treat him like garbage."
He takes a deep breath to calm himself down while Klaus stays silent. "Davina is up to something, I don't know what it is but she is part of this family now. She is a part of my family. So whatever happens whether it be today or next month... You do not harm her. Am I understood?"

Klaus' brows furrow when he hears about the little witch he had slightly bonded with over painting sessions, though they've both been too busy to indulge in any in a while he did hold a small fondness for the child. Wordlessly he nods his head, agreeing that he wont hurt the witch for his brother.
"If something happens today, you will be the strongest of the family to protect Hayley and the baby. I would die to protect them and I know that you would too. But today, of all days, I need you to step up. I can't guarantee their safety today so you need to." He rubs a hand down his face. Completely flushed from all of the stress.
Klaus places a hand on his brothers shoulder and squeezes it in comfort. His brother always held the burden of being the strongest, of protecting their family, and solving all of their problems that they caused. For today, he would gladly shoulder those burdens. "I promise, brother."
—
Gabriel comforts Hayley as she stresses about Jackson and Oliver still not being back, leaving the job of calling Klaus to Elijah. "We'll find them Hayley." He rubs her back.
"How are you so sure?" Hayley questions with an angry sigh.
"Call it a hunch." He shrugs, backing away when she whips her head around to glare at him.
"It appears our wolves have gone astray, brother." Elijah says through the phone.
Hayley jumps up. "They should have been back hours ago."
Gabriel can hear Klaus sighing on the other end of the phone. "Well, that might be a bit tricky. You see, we've located their car on a back road in the middle of nowhere. I suspect they've been shanghai'd."
Elijah's eye twitches in annoyance. "And you didn't feel the need to share this information?"
"It was my intention to present you with a problem only after I had found an appropriate solution." Klaus defends.
"Do enlighten us." Gabriel says bored.
"I'm closing in on it as we speak. The only person who would be bold enough to snatch my wolf allies is the one who has the most to lose." Klaus hints.
"Marcellus." Gabriel groans.
"No, he'll kill them!" Hayley looks at the two in panic.
"Genevieve assures me that Marcel has procured a cloaking spell. The only witch who will aid Marcel is Davina. I just need to get one last bit of leverage before I pay her a visit. And there it is." Can practically hear Klaus' smirk from where he stands.
"Niklaus!" He shouts in anger. Hayley jumps in fright, not expecting his reaction.
"I will keep my word to you, the little witch will not be harmed." Klaus sighs before hanging up the phone.
—
Hayley paces back and fourth around the compound worried about Gabriel and the two wolves that he and the two younger Mikaelsons had gone to save. She had noticed Gabriel was a little on edge today and not as affectionate as he usually is. He also scared her when she had gone from calm to filled with rage at the mention of Klaus going to see Davina. She hadn't heard him talking to or about Davina since the day of the explosions in the Bayou and she was now wondering why.
"Gabriel should have called by now." Hayley murmurs to herself in panic, but Genevieve who was kind enough to offer to watch over the pregnant wolf while they were gone had heard her.

"Worrying isn't going to help. You should sit down, try to keep calm." She advises.
Hayley frowns. Giving her a judge-mental side eye. "What are you, now, magician slash zen-life-coach?"
"The treatment of pregnant women has advanced remarkably since I was a nurse, but even I know high blood pressure is bad for you, and your baby." Genevieve calmly explains.
Hayley sighs, taking a seat on a bench. "Especially now, since you're so close to term."
"I hate this. I feel completely useless." Hayley admits to the witch.
"Don't you get it? You're the point of all this. Gabriel, Klaus, and Elijah running all over town? It's all for you. I'm a bit envious."Genevieve bitterly remarks.
"Great. Lucky me." Hayley sarcastically responds. Though deep down she does feel lucky, she knew from all of the siblings that whenever the family has ever started problems like this or need help with their schemes he doesnt help them unless their own lives were in danger. He hated making enemies unlike his family and he preferred to live as normal of a life as he could. Though Hayley supposes that all came to an end when he met her. There was nothing normal about what's been going on in her life.
"Is there anything I can get you?" The witch offers.
"How about a moonlight ring?" Hayley raises a brow.
"The spell can't be performed until the full moon reaches its apex. And, of course, I need the stones, which will be here soon enough. Have a little faith!" She laughs but Hayley doesnt find the situation amusing so she gets up and walks away.
—
The three brothers arrive at the warehouse and find Jackson still tied to a chair and a bag covering his head but no marcel or Diego in sight. Klaus pulls the bag off of the mans head and the wolf flinches but sighs in relief when he realizes who it is. Grabbing his face Klaus stares at the man intensely."Accolades to Marcel, he did quite a dance across the bridge of your nose. Where is he now?"
Gabriels eyes trail down the chair only to see explosives attached to the legs of the chair, on top of that there was a crater underneath the chair with an even larger bomb attached ed to it. "Nowhere to be found. Although, he did leave us a delightful parting gift." Gabriel groans when he opens another crate to find an explosive.
"What about the stones?" Klaus raises an unamused brow, like his brother, completely annoyed with the situation at hand.
Jackson stares at him like he's gone insane. "I don't know. Untie me, I'll help you find them!"
"Sit still! You'll be freed as soon as it's safe." Elijah scolds as he examines the triggers on the chairs.
Gabriel goes along with Klaus to look inside all of the other craters. "Our focus should be the stones. Considering Jackson's competition for Hayley's affection, I think you'd agree." He smirks as he directs the last part of his sentence towards Gabriel who just rolls his eyes.
Elijah turns towards Jackson. "Disregard my brother. Over the course of the last millenium, his capacity for tact has somewhat diminished."
"Well, that's typical, isn't it? Marcel fills a room with dynamite, and yet, I'm the tactless one." Klaus scoffs.
"I recognize these explosives from the attack on the bayou. Could you remind me, again, why you believed that Marcel was innocent?" Elijah questions though Gabriel is the one to respond. "The boy is innocent of the bayou bombing Elijah."
Gabriels phone begins to ring and he pulls it out of his pocket to see its Hayley. "Hello, love." He casually greets.
"What's going on?" She questions.
"The mutt is fine. He's...a little tied up right now. Can we call you back?" He smirks as Klaus laughs at his elder brothers joke, Elijah simply shakes his head.
He turns when he hears Jacksons angry voice. "Are you trying to kill us?"
Gabriel watches klaus pick up the folded note. "Gabriel tell me what's going on, now!" Hayley demands.
"This is for Thierry" Klaus whispers. Gabriel makes sure Elijah grabs Jackson before they all sprint as fast as they can out of the warehouse just before the whole building explodes.
—
Hayley is pacing around when all of the an return home, covered in ash and dirt. "Thank god you're alive!" Hayley yells in relief as she brings Jackson into a hug and thanks Elijah for carrying him in. Hayley sits Jackson down to tend to his wounds and all of the brothers watch as Jackson stares at her with a tender look in his eyes.
Elijah and Klaus hesitantly glance towards Gabriel to gauge his reaction of Hayley basically forgetting his existence and Jackson's loving looks and nearly wince when they notice the distant look in his eyes.
In attempt to break the tense silence Hayley seemed to be oblivious to Klaus scoffs. "I'm fine, too, thanks for asking."
"What about the stones?" She questions.
Elijah sighs. "Scattered across the bed of the Mississippi, I'd imagine."
Klaus pours himself and his older brother a drink, silently feeling sympathy for his older brother, the one sibling of his he didn't find the least bit of joy from when it came to his suffering. and he knew currently, Hayley was digging herself a hole. "Marcel's not a fool. He knows an empowered werewolf army would mean the end of vampires in New Orleans. The explosion is his way of saying he means to prevent that. For all the good it'll do him."
Gabriel takes the drink from his brother as Hayley scoffs. "Well, it did him pretty damn well, didn't it?"
"This is my fault. I'll find a way to fix it." Jackson says with guilt lacing his voice.
Hayley rubs his shoulder affectionately. "No, Jack, you're hurt. No one's blaming you."
Gabriel looks away, his face slightly scrunched up, only fueling Klaus' anger. "I'm blaming you! Those stones will be hard to replace. Fortunately, I always have a backup plan."
—
Francesca walks into the compound with five other men, with one holding a suitcase.
"You can't seriously mean her! She's a gangster!" Hayley looks towards klaus in anger.
"I see her more as a means of procuring rare items at short notice. [to Francesca and her entourage] Greetings, Ms. Correa! I see you've brought company." he innocently replies. Not feeling bad at all towards her reaction seeing as she was currently hurting his brother.
"These are my brothers. I always include them in delicate business matters.Fellas, meet Mr. Mikaelson." The dark haired woman introduces.
Klaus smiles at the group. "Please, call me Klaus. All my friends do."
"I don't know if I'd call us friends." She reaches into the briefcase and pulls out a small bag of what Gabriel had to guess the moonstones were in. "But, if you and Marcel are planning on having a little throwdown, I'd prefer my family to be on the same side as the inevitable victor."
"Then, you have what I asked for?" Klaus raises a brow.
She holds out the bag. "Not enough for an army, at such short notice, but it's a start."
Elijah jumps into the conversation with a sense of anger in his voice. "Strange, I wasn't aware that she was familiar with our plan."
"My price for doing business is full disclosure. Your brother complied." She simply explains.
"And what does the Human Faction stand to benefit from all of this?" he wonders.
"I only want us to solidify our allegiance to the ruling class. It's good for business." she smirks.
"Marcel is being especially vindictive. I'm worried he might come after me, or my family, just for meeting with you. It might be in our best interests if we combine our efforts." She admits.
"So be it! The more bodies we have to defend the compound, the better. Let's get started, shall we?" Klaus claps happily.
—
Gabriel walks up the stairs into the room where Hayley had just finished patching the wolf up. "Seems I owe you yet again." The wolf nods to him in acknowledgment. "You made sure Elijah got me out before you left."
Gabriel simply nods his head, watching as the wold leaves. "Elijah tells me he risked his life to save his friend. He's a good man." He admits to Hayley.
Hayley stands up and takes a deep breath. "Yes, he is. Gabriel...there's something that I need to tell you. My family...wanted me..I was supposed to be betrothed to Jackson."
Gabriels breath hitches and he takes a step back. I wanted to tell you sooner, I-I just didn't know how, it's this insane custody-" Gabriel cuts her off.
"You don't need to explain yourself Hayley. If you wanted to, you would have. Were not dating, what you do is completely your business." He sighs, feeling his heart practically tear in two.
"Come on, Gabriel." She sighs. "I wanted to tell you but there was just never time and i- I just want you to say something that doesnt include something along the lines of 'it's your choice'"
"What would you have me do?" Gabriel leans against the wall, looking up to the ceiling counting the cracks.
"I just told you that I'm betrothed, according to some backwater arrangement by people that I never knew. Tell me that you think betrothals are stupid! Tell me that I have a choice!" She snaps in disappointment.
He takes two steps towards her, their chests touching from how close they are and he leans his mouth so close to hers that she can feel his hot breaths. "Today out of all days Hayley, I do not have it in me to fight. I will always make sure you have a choice. So it's up to you. Him or me. I cant beg you, not today, to choose me. If you really loved me, there'd be no room in your heart to even begin to fall for another let alone even think about marrying another." He stares into her eyes that have become quite conflicted and sad. Leaning in, he pulls her into a hard kiss. Wrapping his large hand gently around her throat he pulls her as close as their bodies allow them to and bites her bottom lip as they pull away. "It's all in your hands."
—
Genevieve has begun arranging everything for the spell around the table. Right before Gabriel and Klaus walk into the room Klaus grabs his brothers arm. "Are you alright?" He questions.
Avoiding his eyes he sighs. "What are you talking about Niklaus?"
"I remember what today is. Whether your off on your trips or not you're not near us for this one day of the year. Maries death date. And yet I know you stayed in hopes of protecting Hayley, and I know that you know we heard everything that was said upstairs, not to mention the girl you adopted into our family has distanced herself from you so, ill ask again big brother. Are you okay?" He slowly pronounces each word when he says his last phrase.
Gabriel tenses, not expecting his brother to remember what today was nor bring up him and Hayleys conversation upstairs. "I-I will be." He says honestly. And that's enough for klaus who nods his head and enters the room with the witch. "I trust you're ready?"
The witch sighs. "The last ingredient is personal. As the spell is designed to control transformation, I need the blood of a werewolf who doesn't turn on a full moon. My first thought was Hayley, because of the pregnancy..."
Klaus glances at Gabriel. "Out of the question. I'd just as soon limit the mother of my unborn side to the side-effects of your witchery. I am half-wolf, I control my form, use my blood." He holds his hand out for her but before the knife in her grip can reach his skin he roughly grabs her arm. "If you fail to hold up your end of the deal, the consequences for you will be apocalyptic."
"You say the most romantic things." She nervously replies, the drips his blood all over the stones. You can hear the hiss from the stones and she begins the spell.
Hayley and Elijah join them in the room to watch the witch with careful eyes. Gabriel stands on the opposite end of the room from Hayley. suddenly Francesca rushes into the room. "My people say Marcel is on the move, and he's bringing friends."
Gabriel glances towards Klaus with a look and then Elijah. "Get Hayley to safety." And with out another word to anyone he rushes off.
