《To Be Loved By A Mikaelson | Hayley Marshal》MR. LOVER

"He takes care of everyone but himself."
scrunching her nose in disgust at the scene in front of her.
"So this is what you do the first time we're all back together?" She says watching her three brothers sit on the couch each reading a book. "Read together as a family vampire book club?"
"Reading edifies the mind sister." Klaus says simply, not looking away from his book. "Isn't that right Elijah?"
Gabriel rolls his eyes subtly at his brothers attempt to get under Elijahs skin.
"Yes that's quite right Niklaus." Elijah replies barely sparing his younger brother a glance.
"And what's this business?" Rebekah says waving a hand towards the dead female on the coffee table.
"That, little sister is Klaus' peace offering to Elijah." Gabriel joins the conversation, giving Klaus a pointed look. To which Klaus ignores.
"I presumed after spending so much time desiccating in a coffin, that my big brother may be a bit peckish." Klaus says with an innocent expression, though everyone in the room knew it was anything but.
"So I explained to my little brother that forgiveness can not be bought. I'd simply prefer to see a change in behavior that indicates contrition and personal growth." Elijah says waving a hand nonchalantly. "Not this nonsense."
"Well, I couldn't very well let her go to waste. Now could I?" He says mock smiling towards Elijah.
"Yes. Yes you could've Niklaus." Gabriel says annoyed with his siblings banter. When he last left them to get some time on his own was when they all decided to go to New Orleans. After Mystic Falls he needed a break.
"Well I suppose I'll fetch the rubbish bin, because she's staining a two hundred year old carpet." Rebekah fumes stomping away to get cleaning supplies.
Gabriel chuckles quietly to himself at his younger sisters behavior as Elijah closes his book glancing at the blood stained carpet. "Ah, yes"
Hayley walks through the living room into the kitchen too sleepy to even pay any mind to what was going on. Elijah watches his elder brother glance in her direction before continuing his reading.
Elijah gets up walking into the kitchen to join Hayley. Klaus watches the interaction with insecurities instantly running through his head. Gabriel wouldn't take his child away from him, but Elijah would.
Gabriel saw the look on his younger brothers face and narrows his eyes. "Don't even Nik." He warns.
"Shouldn't you be the most concerned, you are pining after the wolf after all?" Klaus says innocently, with worry underlining his voice
"No, I'm not. Because I know Elijah doesn't fancy her. She's mine." Gabriel replies, practically snarling towards the end of his statement daring Niklaus to say otherwise.
Whenever Gabriel fell deep In love he was majorly possessive. Everyone in his family knew that. They knew not to mess with what was his. Klaus learned that lesson many, many years ago.
In the kitchen Elijah leans in the doorway watching as Hayley Rummages through the fridge. "Good morning." He says simply.
She pops her head from behind the fridge with a small smile in greeting. Elijah was the first person to be nice to her when she was first taken by the witches, she appreciated him. "Hi."
Rebekah walks in the double doors leaving them open and Hayley raises a brow. "Listen I know I'm the only one in this house that actually drinks milk, but would it kill for any of you to make sure it's on the grocery list?" She says slightly annoyed, forgetting that it was Gabriel that went shopping last.

"Speaking of, add bleach." Rebekah says walking into the living room to collect the dead corpse.
Gabriel walks into the kitchen seeing Hayley pull out ice cream and other junk food. Elijah hands him a bowl and cereal as he walks by and he sets them on the counter heading towards the fridge.
"You know I do hope my siblings were hospitable to you in my absence." Elijah says smirking towards his elder brother, Gabriel sends him a desperate scowl but his face softens when Hayley glances towards him.
"In your absence as you like to call it, which is a way too polite way of saying your brother put a dagger in your heart. I have been attacked by French quarter vampires, I've had to live in a house with a secret dungeon that has a secret room full of coffins, and I was nearly murdered by a group of witches." She says getting so deep into her rant that she hadn't noticed both men were staring at her in amusement.
Hayleys eyes narrow as Gabriel suddenly grabs all the junk food out of her hand and off the counter and puts them back. He grabs milk out of the back of the fridge and pours some into her bowl. "Oh milk. Right." She whispers slightly embarrassed. "They've been fine. They've been weirdly protective and I think I have you to thank for that." She says towards Elijah and quickly glances to Gabriel who leans on the counter watching the interaction with a raised brow.
"Actually I believe you have Gabriel to thank." Elijah says smiling, her cheeks automatically heating up looking towards the tribrid.
Gabriel opens his mouth to answer when his phone buzzing interrupts him, he sends Hayley an apologetic glance and without looking answers the phone.
"Hello?" He says simply still looking at Elijah and Hayley who were watching the man curiously.
"G-gabriel." A female stutters on the other line. With her wolf hearing and the originals enhanced hearing the two other people perk up at the females voice in even more curiosity.
"Caroline? What's wrong?" Gabriel says his eyes automatically turning worried, he turns his back towards the pregnant wolf and his brother for some sort of privacy.
Elijahs eyes narrow towards his elder brother. He knows they had something going on while his family was in Mystic Falls but she rejected him claiming she couldn't be near him because of their family. It hurt his brother so much that he decided to take his leave from the family early instead of following them to New Orleans.
"I-I just really miss you. And I'm sorry about what I said all those months ago. My mom she uh, she was just diagnosed with cancer. And they don't know if she's going to make it." Caroline croaks out in a way that makes Gabriel's heart clench.
Gabriel's whole body tenses. Though he gave up on the blonde ever replicating his feelings he still majorly cared for her. He knew her mom was the most important thing in her life. "I'll be there tomorrow darling." He sighs and hangs up the phone.
Elijah mentally face palms at his older brother while Hayleys face drops in disappointment and sadness. She never should've gotten her hopes up. No one could ever love someone who was pregnant with their brothers child.
Turning around Gabriel sees his younger brother shaking his head at him and walking out of the room with out a word and he mentally rolls his eyes. Hayley just stares down at her food playing around with it. Clearing her throat she says, "So you and Caroline Forbes?"

"It's not like that anymore." Gabriel reassures when he senses the sadness in the wolfs words.
"Your siblings say that when you love someone that you love deeply." She says doubtfully refusing to make eye contact with the original.
Gabriel can basically see the sadness and doubtful ness all over her face making him let out a low sigh. Walking over to the pregnant she wolf he grabs her hand and ignores her questioning stare, leading her out the back door.
"What-" Hayley gets cut off when Gabriel places his lips on hers and grabs her by her hips pulling her impossibly closer to him. After getting over her initial shock she kisses him back with passion she didn't know she had.
Slowly pulling away much to Hayleys dismay, he leans his forehead on hers with a bright smile. "Caroline Forbes is in my past. I'll always care about her, but you my little wolf. Will be my future." He whispers.
Hayleys cheeks redden and Gabriel can't help but smile widely at her response to him.
"I'll come back to you." Gabriel promises with his forehead still on the wolf's.
Her lips suddenly pull into a small frown and it hurts Gabriel's heart more than he'd like to admit. This little wolf had him so smitten it was scary.
"You promised you'd come back last time and you never did." Hayley whispers, attempting to pull away from Gabriel. Her trust issues coming into play from being abandoned her whole life.
Not willing to let her slip away upset before he left he tugs her back into his embrace before she gets even less than a foot away from him.
"Don't turn away from me, love." He whispers into her ear making her shiver. Not willing to let her guard down just yet she pushes away the urge to stay in his arms forever and refuses to look him in the eyes.
"I will come back to you." He says as sincerely and serious as he possibly could.
"Actions speak louder than words." She says with her head held high, Gabriel took a moment to admire the head strong female and when she starts turning around he debates whether or not to let her leave but quickly changes his mind.
Grabbing her hand one last time he spins her around bringing her into another breath taking kiss catching Hayley by surprise once again.
Hesitating for a second she melts into the kiss and wraps her arms around the back of his neck eagerly.
Pushing her face into his as much as he could with out hurting her in desperation for her to believe him. He would never be able to leave if the she wolf had doubts about him.
Only pulling away when Hayley gasps for air neither let go of the other.
"I have to speak to my siblings before I leave but I'll see you soon love." He whispers not wanting to disturb the moment.
Hayley nods wordlessly as he leaves a long chaste kiss on her forehead before disappearing into the house.
Walking into the living room his siblings suddenly act like they haven't been innocently listening. Rolling his eyes he motions his hand in a 'get on with it' expression already knowing what was coming.
"You love her already." Rebekah smiles at her brother.
"Knock it off Bex." He warns though she knew it held no form of threat so she rolls her eyes.
"Why are you going to Mystic Falls for Caroline if your so smitten on Hayley?" Klaus questions with a mocking voice, though he was truly happy for his brother.
"Caroline will always have a place in my heart Niklaus. Just because we don't have a romantic relationship doesn't mean I'll stop caring for her." He says blandly towards his younger brother.
"I always hated that Whiney wench." Rebekah mutters under her breath.
"We all know that Bex." Gabriel rolls his eyes, thinking back on all the times her and Caroline would get into cat fights over the dumbest things.
Getting back on the reason he came to talk to his siblings he looks straight at Elijah in the eyes. "I'm going to see the Claire witch before I leave. Do not, under any circumstances let anything happen to her Elijah."
At hearing his brothers authoritative voice all the siblings straighten in their seats. Only Gabriel could get this reaction out of any of them.
"If anything is to happen to her you will all face me. Niklaus if you so much as breathe by her I will lock you away in a dungeon never to be seen again." He stares each and every one of his siblings in the eye to show how serious he is.
Elijah is the first to speak up, "You have my word nothing is to harm Davina."
Satisfied with his brothers response he nods and turns towards his sister. His serious expression fading away. Opening his arms for her she immediatly jumps into her favorite brothers arms.
Both younger Mikaelsons rolling their eyes at the blondes antics. She acted like a spoiled brat anytime their elder brother was around. Though every one of them knew there was nothing anyone could do about it. Anyone who dared would die by Gabriel's hand.
It was still unbelievable to Klaus and Elijah how over protective Gabriel was towards Rebekah. Even when she acted like a brat or did something wrong Gabriel always stood at her side, making her physically untouchable. Rebekah often gloated to all of her siblings, daring any of them to do any wrong to her.
"Don't be gone for long." Rebekah sternly says, though her watery eyes prove how emotional she was already.
"I won't be long Bex. I could never leave you alone for long. Do stay away from Marcellus." He says making Rebekah instantly sadden. She never disobeyed Gabriel because he rarely asked her of anything. Gabriel knew she still loved the boy more than life itself. All her antics were just a product of jealousy and hurt. But he knew said boy was not done playing king yet. And his little sister would end up in the cross fire.
Nodding her head she sniffles a bit backing away as he says goodbye to his brothers leaving the house.
Rebekahs taken out of her thoughts when her phone buzzes.
Rebekah smiles brightly at her phone making the two men in the room perk up curiously.
"What's got you smiling so much right after your favorite brother just left." Klaus mocks with a sly smile.
" My favorite brother of course." She smugly says.
Arriving at the church that held so much dark energy Gabriel shivers in disgust. This was where his dead lovers ancestor was living, not for long. Not as long as Gabriel had a say in it. And he sure as hell did.
Walking up the creaky stairs that lead into the attic he knocks on the door softly already sensing the mass amount of magic coming from the Claire witch.
Hesitating and frightened, Davina slowly opens the door ready to protect herself on high alert.
When she sees the tall and very handsome man her eyebrows furrow in confusion and then she senses the magic coming from him. But it was way more than what came from the other originals. This must have been Gabriel.
"Hello Davina." He greets with a sweet smile.
"Um hi." She replies nervously, she didn't take Elijah seriously when he said that Gabriel would care for her well being.
"May I come in?" He questions politely, careful not the scare the girl more than she probably already had been in her life.
Searching his face for any sign of threat she eventually nods her head and slowly opens the door.
"I presume you know who I am?" Gabriel questions with a neutral face.
Though as he stares at Davina he starts to see the way her body tenses and the way her eyes are so guarded. As if she's been fighting for her life for years.
Meekly nodding her head Gabriel takes a seat on her bed. "Whether you know it or not your safety is one of the most important things to me, besides a couple other of things."
"Why? I mean Elijah told me the whole story but she's gone. You didn't have to keep your promise all these years." She asks confused. Most people would have continued living their life and eventually gave up after a hundred years.
His lips quirking in amusement he takes a moment to think his words through with out responding. "Marie Claire was one of my greatest loves in my very long life. When she died the only thing I had left was her younger brother who wasn't even ten yet. With out even knowing it, he helped me through a very dark time in my life. I swore to protect her decedents not because she made me, but because they became my family."
"What happened to her younger brother?" Davina asks in curiosity, her eyes suddenly looking like a young child listening to a foreign tale.
"When I feared my families enemies would cause him harm I found a family of witches that I was sure would take care of him. He grew up to get married and have children and grandchildren." He responds with a fond smile.
"This is no place for a child Davina, no matter how much the world likes to forget you are still just that, a young child. I do apologize for not being here for you sooner it seems my informant disappeared a couple years ago." He says with narrowed eyes staring at the wall in thought.
"Thank you." Davina stutters out with tears in her eyes. "For caring."
Bringing the young girl in for a hug by surprise she tenses but eventually hugs back.
"You deserve to be cared for Davina. Your parents failed you but I will not. I must be going now I have some business out of town but I will be back. In the mean time I have some people looking after you." He says being vague about the 'people' knowing she wouldn't like it.
Giving him a small nod with a thankful smile Gabriel returns the nod before leaving.
Getting into his car he sets his mind on Mystic falls with a small sigh emitting from his mouth.
It was going to be a long couple of weeks.
