What is a bond? That’s a question that’s been on my mind ever since I arrived at the Ministry… Sister Carolina always tells me that a bond is a strong feeling of friendship, love and respect from us humans…

A bond can be something we share with any other living and spiritual people…I remember that I…Estrella Rossi…am trying to figure out what a bond really is…it all happened a week after Uriel went on a mission to save his friend in the land of the dead…however…he was supposed to have a bond with his sister Valerie…but he left her behind…and ever since then…Valerie has been depressed and has never been the same since that day…

I woke up that day and looked in the mirror…my brown skin, white hair and dark blue eyes were in place…I looked at my body and everything seemed fine…huuuhhh…and my boobies didn’t grow an inch today either…sorry I lost focus…I decided to put on my clothes…

A dark blue skirt that goes down to right before their knees, white buttoned shirt, a red ribbon and a dark blue jacket, that’s our school uniform for the girls…I combed my hair and put some perfume that Valerie gave to me…

I walked downstairs to see how I could help my sisters…I saw my sister Mariana heading towards the dining room…Mariana is my sister that has white skin, light brown hair, and also light brown eyes

“Good morning Estrella, how are you feeling today?” She smiled at me like always, I replied to her that I was feeling better…lately, I’ve been very sick because of the excessive amounts of mana that my body has…

Uriel and Father Clemente sealed my Shadow Tamer abilities and as a consequence…my mana has a hard time to be released…

“Hey Estrella…you’re looking cute as always…” Abril sneaks up to me and hugs me from behind…I shoutes; “GGYYAAHH….DON’T DO THAT!”

“You’re so funny…” Abril looks at my red face and runs towards the dining hall. Abril is also my sister who has brown skin, black hair and light brown eyes. As I arrived to the dining room, Fabiola was already there, she looks at me and smiles:

“Good morning…Estrella…”

“Good morning Sister…” I replied to her as I headed to the kitchen to get something to eat. Fabiola can be considered my older sister, she has white skin, blonde hair and dark blue eyes.

As we ate breakfast, our teacher Maria came to talk to us; “Girls…I have a favor to ask of you…”

Maria is one of the strongest people here, she is also Uriel, Daniel and Valerie’s mother, she has light brown skin with red hair, she has reddish colored eyes.

“What happened teacher?” Abril asked her, Maria looked at the window, we looked outside and saw Valerie sitting at the bench with a somber expression. She’s been that way for almost 1 week. Ever since Uriel left her behind to travel to the Land of the Dead.

“Would you girls mind helping me out…Valerie needs some cheering and I was hoping if you could take her to the mall after you finish with school today…”

I immediately stood up and nod in agreement, surprising everyone; “I want to help her…she feels sad and I don’t want her to be like that…after all, she is the happiest person here…”

It’s true…Valerie is always so cheerful and happy…I want to help her feel better na while I’m at it…try to understand what a bond is…

Maria smiled at me and hugged me; “Thank you…”

“We want to help as well…” Mariana and Abril also stood up with confidence. I felt relieved as I knew my sisters were going to help me. Fabiola sighed and looked at her right:

“Well…if we have no choice…then I will also help…”

Fabiola acts in a way my sisters call her a tsundere? I don’t understand it that much but my sisters make fun of her by calling her that. Maria hugged the four of us and gave us some money to spend…As we headed out, we saw Sister Carolina standing at the hallway:

“Have a great day girls…”

Sister Carolina is my teacher and she has black hair and brown skin with dark green eyes. She was recently unconscious for almost two months. She woke up a week ago when Uriel and Sister Griselda brought her back…I don’t know much of the details…all that matters is that she’s doing better…

I heard that Sister Griselda returned to Tapatio for a couple of days…and Father Clemente is at the Cathedral… We headed to school, as I passed by Valerie, she had hollow eyes…the same eyes I had before I met everyone…I made up my mind to help and I made a promise that I would…

After school, my sisters and I gathered outside the building…My friend Naomi was out of town that week …that’s too bad because I wanted her to come with us to the mall…maybe she could’ve help me understand what bonds are better…but oh well…

We decided to wait for him…at that moment, he approached us…Mariana and Abril suddenly blush, I can also feel my heart beat rising…the only that doesn’t is Fabiola:

“You’re late…Daniel…”

“Be grateful that I came…” Daniel replied as he walked past her. Fabiola got mad again…I know that Daniel likes to make her angry…Daniel is the coolest guy I know…he has white skin, reddish hair, and green eyes. Daniel turns around and looks at us:

“I heard that you will go with my sister to the mall right?”

We nodded at him, Daniel sighs; “I know this is difficult to ask, but please…cheer her up…she really needs you…” We looked at him surprised, it’s the first time that he ever asked for a favor…He turned around and left the school…and in a blink of an eye…he disappeared…

At that moment, a beautiful girl was approaching us…she immediately got everyone’s attention because of her beauty…however…her eyes were filled with sorrow…As she got closer, she smiled and waved at us:

“Hey…I’m over here…”

We waved back at her, she immediately ran towards us and proceeded in hugging me for some reason:

“Ready to go girls?”

We waved at her, Fabiola smiled at her; “Sure…let’s go Valerie…”

Valerie is the most beautiful girl here, she has white skin with blue eyes and light purple colored hair.

We decided to go to the mall to try and cheer her up…At that mall, Valerie immediately changed her attitude…she was super excited to have us try different clothes in the shops…

To be honest, I felt a little embarrassed because I am not used to having these types of clothes but oh well…I wanted Valerie to feel happier…

So the fashion show began…First it was Abril who had a pair of blue jeans with a beautiful yellow blouse, along with a light red scarf and sunglasses, she had some low heels to match…Abril is not shy and likes to act like a model…

The next was Mariana, she had a short blue dress with some necklaces around her neck and long boots…Mariana is very shy so she was really red when she was posing…she looked so cute…

Fabiola was next…she isn’t someone who likes those sorts of things but she went along…she decided to wear a black skirt with a sleeveless blouse, she had a black tie and long black socks with high heels…my sisters and I were surprised that she looked very cute in that outfit…

It was my turn next…and I was a little nervous, I chose to wear a pair of tight jean short shorts, with tight leggings and mountain boots. A red T-shirt with a white jacket, I also wore sunglasses because I was embarrassed…Everyone was surprised by my appearance that they were telling me how cute I looked…I was really embarrassed…

Finally, Valerie wore a short purple dress with the bottom part loosen and no sleeves. She looked really pretty with her hair combed and grabbed with a band…however, looking at her face, I know that she is still depressed…

As we ate in the food court, Valerie gained the courage to speak to us:

“Thank you for doing this…I know that it’s hard for you to do this…and I’m sorry…”

Valerie once again showed those sad eyes. Fabiola sighed; “Well…it’s not ike we did it for you alone…I mean, I also like to wear some new clothes…that’s all…”

“Hahaha…there she goes again to the tsundere Fabiola…”

“Stop calling me that Abril…”

“Well…you do act like that…it’s pretty obvious…”

“Mariana…not you too…”

Everyone began to laugh…we continued to chat about girl stuff…and talked about boys and fashion…Valerie gave a lot of advice on how to be confident and look pretty…however, she still had those sad eyes…

As we went to the movies to see the latest movie of “Survival Games”, something unexpected happened…in one of the scenes, the main protagonists “Kat” was left behind by her brother in order to save their childhood friend…that’s when Valerie immediately stood up:

“Sorry girls…I have to go to the restroom…be right back okay…”

She passed by me and I clearly saw tears in her eyes…I immediately stood up with a determined expression; “I’ll be right back…”

Fabiola nodded in agreement as she looked at my determination…I immediately followed Valerie … As I caught up to her…I saw her, she was crying, sitting in one of the benches outside; “Why did you leave me behind…why Uriel?”

Valerie noticed me and wiped her tears off and tried to make a fake smile:

“Estrella…I was just yawning and I…”

I immediately interrupted her by giving her a hug…my body moved on its own…I just wanted her to be okay:

“It’s okay Valerie…I can see right through you…there’s no need to hold it in…I know that you’re in pain…please…let it out…you don’t have to suffer alone…I am here as well…I know how it feels to be left behind…please…let it out…”

At that moment Valerie began to cry, she hugged me tightly; “He left me…he broke his promise to me…I feel so useless…why…why…”

It was at this moment, that I felt the real Valerie…also at this moment, I began to understand what a bond really was…it’s the joy and the sadness that one shares with the people they care about…After a while, Valerie stopped crying…she looked at me and apologize:

“I’m sorry…I was just devastated when my brother left me behind…I felt that he didn’t trust me and that our bond was broken…”

“Don’t say that…you share a great bond with him and the reason he left you behind was to protect you because you are her little sister after all…I am sure that Uriel feels a strong bond between you…so please be the cheerful Valerie as you have always been…because you are also my friend…”

“You know what…I guess you’re right…I guess I have been blaming myself for not being too strong…that I guess I never thought that he really cared about me…but still…” Valerie puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms:

“He owes me lunch for all the days he’s gone…and also he will have to take me to Europe and Japan…as his punishment…”

We both laughed…I could tell that she was calm…she hugged me once more:

“Thank you…I guessed…you saved me…we also share a special bond…”

“You really think so?”

“I do…Estrella…you’re a great person…”

I felt so calm and warm in my heart…someone telling me that I am a great person…I guess this can be considered a bond as well…

As we returned, we finished the movie and walked home together…everyone was having a great time…even Fabiola who is always strict, was laughing at what Valerie and Abril were telling us…

It was the first time I felt like a normal person…and it was the first time that I saw how bright the soul of a person can be…I wonder how Uriel is doing…I hope he comes back soon…
