《A Second Chance At Romance》Nineteen

After a very awkward breakfast with Mason, I was finally back at home where it was silent from Lexi being gone. That meant it was going to be a long week but at least I had work to get me through it all.
Today though I had Liam to get me through the rest. Except I have to wait until this afternoon to see him so in the meantime I guess I'll take a nap or watch a movie whichever I felt like doing.
I know my life is boring when I'm not with Lexi.
At least I didnt have to straighten up since my house was already clean.
Movie it is then, although I am kinda tired.
Although I'm not sure what I wanted to watch. There's an option on Netflix to shuffle movies and that's what I decided to use, and thankfully it chose something good.
But about thirty minutes into the movie I was interrupted by my mom calling.
Wonder what she wants this time?
Last night she had called me and went on about her and my dad's date like I needed to know about how romantic and heated it got.
Yuck.
I mean who tells their daughter about that?
Pushing that thought out of my mind I picked my phone up off the coffee table and answered it placing it on speakerphone and then sitting it back down.
"Hey, mom."
"Hi sweetheart just wanted to call and check in."
"Oh well I'm fine, I'm just sitting at home by myself since Lexi is with Mason so that's about it. You know my life isn't really interesting,"
I didn't mention Liam at first because I wanted to ease into the conversation or maybe I'd just say it when we got ready to hang up and then I'd end the call. She'd call back but I could ignore her...
No can't do that it would be too mean.
"Lexi sure is rambunctious so enjoy your peace and quiet I know I cherished my time alone whem you and Jeremiah use to go to Gran's house."
"Your dad and I use-"
No, I can not handle knowing about their relationship.
Like a child, I cover my ears and hummed loudly so I didn't have to hear her tell me what they did. Eventually, she carried on talking changing the subjects from her and dad.
Thank gosh.
"I know she's a little hyper sometimes but I still miss her when she's not around."

Out of nowhere my mind drifted back to when Mason, Lexi, and I use to all be a family and I thought we'd be a family forever never having to go through custody arrangements.
Yet here we are.
"I know you do but just think if you play your cards right you might have another little one to keep you company including you know who."
Oh goodness I hadnt even let my mind think about having more kids. I mean sure I thought about it with Mason but not since the whole divorce.
"Yeah, maybe but I'm not thinking that far ahead. I'm going to take things slow between us."
I don't want another repeat.
"Good for you wanting to do that...wait hold up are you and him dating?"
He didn't know what I had decided yet but I guess I could officially tell her we were.
"Yes, Liam and I are dating," I said with a smile creeping onto my face at how happy I was to finally say it out loud.
I don't care if it's rushed I feel like it could go somewhere so why not see where it goes?
"Ohhh that's so exciting Savannah! I knew you would make the right decision and agree to date him."
How did she know he asked me to date him?
"Thanks, mom at least I know that you are happy with what I've decided now you can tell dad. Besides, how did you know that he asked to date me?
I was curious to see what she was going to say.
"No need to worry about telling your dad he already knows and that's because when Liam was here he asked your father and me if it was okay to ask you out. As if you can't make your own decisions but it was still sweet of him to ask our permission."
It was sweet indeed.
Could Liam get any more perfect?
"The both of you are going to make the cutest couple." She gushed over the phone like a teenage girl.
"If you say so."
I thought so too but I was going to admit it.
"I do say so and you should agree with me because I'm your mother."
The part about agreeing with her only because she was my mother was funny so I laughed at the part before telling her what she wanted to hear.
"Okay fine I agree with you. Liam and I do make a good couple."

"See I knew you agreed."
Yeah if I didn't she'd go on and on about it so this was just a way to move on from that.
"Uh huh sure did."
The line went silent for a second as I heard hushed tones coming from my mom's end before she spoke up and said, "Listen I've got to go but I'll talk to you later."
I told her bye before I hung up the phone and went back to the movie I was watching having missed a few parts of it.
Sometime during the movie, I drifted off to sleep and didn't wake up until I heard the doorbell ring.
Let me just tell you it scared the crap out of me.
Getting up off the couch I made my way over to the front door and swung it open revealing Liam in a t-shirt and jeans.
He looks so hot!
I swear every time I see him I can't get over how good he looks.
How in the world was he single before we met?
"I'm sorry I'm early I had texted you and I never got a response so I just thought I'd show up which now that I mention it sounds kinda pathetic. You weren't busy were you?"
I wasn't going to complain that he was early at all. I like having him around.
"Liam it's okay I promise and it's not pathetic that you came when you did because I wasn't busy at all."
He looked relieved once I told him it was fine as I opened the door wider to let him in.
Once he was inside he and I went over to the couch and took a seat fairly close to one another and I felt nervous like I was fifteen again bringing home my first boyfriend except now I lived alone with just Lexi.
I shouldn't be this nervous because he's been to my house before and we've hung out more than once.
"You look pretty today." He spoke glancing over at me with that perfect smile of his that would make any girl swoon and hopefully that was only going to be me.
"Thank you." I smiled at him in return, "and you look very cute."
Cute?
Did girls tell guys that they look cute after they compliment them?
Oh well, I don't care because I did it anyways.
He chuckled at the last part while he said, "not as much as you but I'll take the compliment anyway."
"Good."
What the hell I can't deal with this small talk anymore I'm ready to tell him about what I've decided.
"You know your smile is so pretty that it's hard to restrain myself from kissing you." He states looking deeply into my eyes and I try to not give in to kissing him until I've told him.
But if I kissed him maybe it would tell him that I was ready for there to be an us.
Ah, what the hell.
"Then do it."
He raised his eyebrow like he was waiting for me to explain but I was done talking instead I grabbed him by the hem of his shirt pulling him closer.
I kiss Liam with everything I have and I make sure it's memorable for the both of us.
And it was!
His hands were tangled in my hair and his tongue was in my mouth and it was great. It had been forever since I was kissed this good and of course, it had been with you know who but this kiss was ten times better.
We came up for air a minute later and I was ready to kiss him again but we couldn't spend the whole night kissing no matter how much I wanted to.
"That was.."
"Amazing, hot, passionate." I listed as he nodded his head agreeing with me.
"All the above," he confessed making me happier than I already was, "So that kiss we just shared what does it mean?"
I thought it was pretty clear.
I wouldn't mind using my words to tell him though.
"It means that I'm all in. I'm ready to be your girlfriend"
The emotion from him that I witnessed in front of me was worth telling him out loud he was now grinning from ear to ear and it was so darn cute.
"Really? You mean it?"
I nodded my head smirking at him and that was all I needed to do to confirm it.
And instead of talking with words after that he crashed his lips down onto mine telling me how happy he was and that's how we spent the remainder of the evening.
