Death is something everyone must face

An inevitable figure

That will one day knock on your door

And mine

I often find myself opening the door myself

To invite death in early

For what comes before won't ever matter

These moments quickly become memories

The days go by swiftly

And any happy moments now

Will turn to sad memories

And then will fade to nothing

And when life gives you nothing but suffering

An internal struggle

Permanently inescapable

What is one moment of physical suffering

What keeps me grounded is reminding myself

That my actions affect others

That a moment of suffering for me

Could be a lifetime for them

Even after I'm forgotten

So I keep living

Living with my suffering

So no one else has to

Live the way I do
