Looking at the tiny fox that was walking towards her, Xu Yue couldn't help but frown.

"Do you like this form so much?" asked Xu Yue as she picked up the fox into her embrace as her attempt at secluding herself was once again destroyed by someone.

"This form is pretty good, but you like it a whole lot more than me don't you?," asked Hulli Jing as she felt Xu Yue scratch her under her ear.

Hearing that, Xu Yue couldn't help but let out a deep sigh.

"This is really awkward," mumbled Xu Yue as she stared at the little fox in front of her.

As she heard Xu Yue say that, anger couldn't help but flare up on Hulli Jing's face.

"If you feel that it's really so awkward then why are you so seductive?" asked Hulli Jing as she suddenly jumped from Xu Yue's hands before returning to her human form.

Looking at Hulli Jing's dangerous-looking eyes, couldn't help but be entranced by them.

Without any warning, Xu Yue suddenly used her newly regained strength to push Hulli Jing down and land on top of her.

"Since you are trying to seduce me so badly then you deserve a reward for your efforts," said Xu Yue as she looked into Hulli Jing's eyes once again.

Several days later,

As Xu Yue tried to get from the bed, suddenly, a soft arm wrapped around her waist and held her in place.

"You are trying to escape again aren't you?" asked Hulli Jing as she brought Xu Yue back onto herself.

"We have only been this way for a short amount of time and you are actually trying to maintain the status quo, you Xu Yue, really are afraid," said Hulli Jing as she tightly embraced Xu Yue.

If any other person, at any other time had said this, they would have faced Xu Yue's wrath but at this time, Xu Yue could only respond with one word.

"No..." mumbled Xu Yue, with frustration visible on her face.

"No, you really are afraid, afraid of this little thing," said Hulli Jing as she touched a red thread that tied both of their ankles together.

"Is this thread controlling you, or is it just showing you the truth? You don't know," said Hulli Jing as she lightly touched the thread, bad as expected her finger went through it, as no thread existed in the real world.

Unbeknownst to Hulli Jing, as she was saying this, the red thread on Xu Yue's ankle was slowly untying itself.

"Even though there is only a slight possibility that this thread was actually affecting both of us, and you can ask someone that knows the truth, you still don't dare face me," said Hulli Jing, causing Xu Yue, whose chin was placed on Hulli Jing's shoulder to slightly move.

"If there is only a slight chance you are being controlled, you still are so resistant, doesn't that show the fact you are afraid," asked Hulli Jing as she held Xu Yue in place.

As words continued to come out of Hulli Jing's mouth, the thread on Xu Yue's ankle seemed to become looser and looser.

"Are you scared of loving me or what?" asked Hulli Jing, causing Xu Yue's eyes to suddenly become colt as the red thread on her ankle fully untied itself.

Suddenly, Xu Yue began raising her head, but just as Xu Yue was about halfway to getting up, she managed to get a good look at Hulli Jing's face.

"We have only known each other for just over a decade, aren't you too attached already?" asked Xu Yue as she suddenly approached Hulli Jing before licking some of the tears coming out of Hulli Jing's eyes.

Contrary to her calm and collected voice, tears streamed from Hulli Jing's face, causing Xu Yue to smile.

"You really are too cute, my little fox," said Xu Yue, emphasizing the word 'my' as she tasted Hulli Jing's fresh tears.

As soon as those words came out of her mouth, Xu Yue suddenly found herself to be the one sitting on the bed, with Hulli Jing being the one on top of her.

Without any warning, Xu Yue's robe was suddenly torn to pieces.

"Did you really have to do that?" asked Xu Yue as she suddenly saw her Heaven Ranked robe be torn to shreds.

"I had to do that, If you need any warmth, you can get my help," said Hulli Jing as seven tails wrapped around Xu Yue.

...

Several days later,

"You know, you never really answered my question," said Hulli Jing with a smile on her face as she watched Xu Yue take out another robe from her spatial ring.

"You are my fox, isn't that enough?" asked Xu Yue as she put on the robe just as Ming Yun walked into the room, causing the latter to somewhat grimace.

Suddenly, another robe, one identical to the one that Xu Yue was wearing emerged from the spatial ring.

"This fox is really too lazy, you should go help her," said Xu Yue as she handed the robe to Ming Yun.

"I can dress myself you know," said Hulli Jing as she looked at Xu Yue, who was walking out of the room with a smile on her face.

Even though she seemed calm, a storm was set off inside of Ming Yun as soon as Xu Yue handed her the robe.

Looking at the robe that was identical to the one Xu Yue wore, a somewhat bittersweet smile appeared on Ming Yun's face.

"I really didn't have much of a chance," thought Ming Yun as she remembered the dream she had when she first heard of Xu Yue, before she became her maid.

Back then, Ming Yun wanted to accompany Xu Yue side by side, maybe even as a Dao Companion.

But as she looked at the lazy fox-woman in front of her and thought about her senior sister, Ming Yun couldn't help but smile.

"Senior sister Jing, can you get up so I can help you?"

Hearing that, Hulli Jing couldn't help but take another look at Ming Yun, who seemed to always oppose her back when the three of them were traveling.

As she looked at Ming Yun, Hulli Jing couldn't help but feel something was off about her.

"Being in the shadows is enough," mumbled Ming Yun, causing Hulli Jing's gaze on her to suddenly become quite complicated.
