She put on a song that she saved for only certain times. In front of her as she sat on her bed with comfy pajama pants and one of her father's shirts were pictures of her parents. Photos before she was born and after she was before they separated. Before they lost their spark in the fire between them.

The first photo she picked up was them in suits, arms around each other as they grinned widely at the camera. Life was obvious in their eyes but also love. She turned in over and saw one of her father's handwriting on the back stating 1995 Justin's wedding. Just after they started dating.

1996 New Year was the second photo she picked up. The photo showed her fathers locked in a kiss as fireworks boomed behind them. Smiles on both of their faces were noticeable. The way Chris held Jimmy with such gentleness around his waist while Jimmy's hold was strong around his back as if he would lose him.

1996 Miami, Florida. Their first vacation, as they told her. In the photo, Chris was covered with sand with only his head peeking out. Jimmy was next to him, patting down the sand over his body. Chris had an expression on his face that she couldn't describe. He looked terrified but he was grinning at the same time. Jimmy had his mouth opened, most liking in a roar of laughter.

Chris told her when she was younger that that day he went to pick out a ring for Jimmy because he knew he loved him and wanted to spend the rest of his life together with him. When she asked him why they divorced, his smile dropped and he looked out of the window next to them.

"Sometimes you love a person so much but you realize that it isn't going to work out. I loved your dad, I did. But it's now time for someone to love your dad. Not the way I did, but more of what I couldn't give."

1996 Christmas. In the photo was Chris's head coming out of a box as Jimmy had his hands up with a look of surprise and happiness. In the next photo, she saw them kissing hard, and even though it was hard to see, tears were running down Jimmy's cheeks.

Jimmy told her that Chris was gone on a business trip after they came back from the vacation in Florida. Chris told him that he would be back after Christmas but he ended up lying to him as he surprised him with a present.

1997 Proposal. Tears started to prick up in her eyes when she got to this photo. She always knew it was going to come but it still hit her hard. The photo showed Chris down on one knee in front of a sunset at the beach with Jimmy standing up, a hand covering his mouth.

She put the photo down to wipe her eyes before she moved on.

1997 Wedding. In the photo the two kissing hard as everyone around them clapped. Fairy lights decorated the scene as flowers laid freely along the walkway. Her grandparents were visible in the front row as they clapped and wiped away their tears.

1997 First House In this photo, they stood in front of her childhood house which was Jimmy's house now. They kissed behind a sold sign as they just bought it that day.

In the next photo, they were inside the bare house. Chris was carrying Jimmy on his back as they walked around the maze of boxes in the living room. Jimmy was grinning hard as Chris had his mouth opened wide, most likely in a fit of laughter.

1997 Christmas In the photo, they were in the now-furnished living room with a Christmas tree behind them. They were on the floor in matching pajamas with a present in each of their laps.

1998 Big Surprise! In the photo, there was a positive pregnancy stick with an ultrasound of a blob. It was her. Jimmy and Chris weren't in the photo, it was only just those new objects.

She asked how they felt when they saw the positive sign. Jimmy had looked at Chris with a smile. He had reached over to put his hand onto his and rubbed the back of it.

"Amazing. After three months of trying, we were about to give up but when that positive sign showed, we knew that it was worth it. I'm glad you are here with us princess." Chris had always given her that nickname for as long as she could remember.

1998 Gender Reveal Pink filled the air in the photo with Jimmy and Chris holding cannons in their hands. Chris was wearing a pink shirt along with Jimmy as their prediction of the gender before it was revealed. It was barely visible but a bump could be seen protruding from the shirt.

"Would you've been happy even if I was a boy?" She asked them a couple of years ago as they went together through the photos. Back when they were still together before they separated and got together with their now partners.

"Yes, darling. But we knew deep down, you were going to be the girl we needed and wanted." Jimmy had told her, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. She smiled at them and felt happy. Oh, how naive she was to think they would last forever.

1998 9 month mark Jimmy's last photo of the pregnancy. His bump was littered with bright red stretch marks along the sides of the bump he was supported. His hands cradled the underside of the bump to support it. When they got to that photo, Jimmy told her that they took the photo, and the next day he went into labor with her.

1998 Julia Morgan Tyson A newborn baby with her fists scrunched up and a face with a warning sign before she cried. A man's hands, found out to be Chris's, were around her tiny body.

She flipped to the next photo and saw Jimmy in the hospital bed with her wrapped up in a swaddle in his arms. He was engrossed in watching her sleep, with Chris next to him hovering over her. A grand smile was plastered on his face as he watched her.

She grabbed tissues to wipe her eyes when she set down the small stack of photos. She needed to pull through but her heart was breaking at the seams. She wanted her parents back together like they were when she was little. When they all held hands walking in the park or all of them laughing in the kitchen every night when they made dinner. When Chris moved out, she couldn't cook with Jimmy anymore. It was only right when it was all three of them in there, laughing until the food was ready.

1998 Julia's first Christmas In the photo, Jimmy and Chris were on the couch with a three-month-old baby. Julia had a pacifier in her mouth as she sat up against Jimmy's chest with his arm around her middle section like a seatbelt. They all had matching pajamas on, red and white striped. She was smiling somewhere behind the camera with Jimmy and Chris smiling at it.

"That was your first smile." Chris had commented. "Your grandmother got that smile out of you and we were so happy, especially her."

1999 Julia's first birthday The photo showed Julia in a high chair with a cake on the tray. She was just blowing them out with the help of Chris who was behind her high chair. Jimmy was on the other side, smiling widely at the moment.

1999 Christmas In the photo, they sat on the floor with Jimmy and Chris closer to the couch, and Julia near the camera. She was opening a present as Jimmy and Chris smiled widely at her.

She flipped to the next photo and saw Jimmy on the floor on his stomach as he played with the new toys she got. Julia was playing with him as Chris went around with a trash bag collecting wrapping paper.

2000 First family vacation In the photo, Chris had her on his shoulders while Jimmy walked next to him in the ocean. She had her hands on the sides of his head as they went deeper and deeper into the water.

They had gone to Florida for their vacation just for the beaches since where they lived, the beaches weren't as good. She was so young, barely two years old when they went. Jimmy had told her that she loved the water and sand so much, she threw a fit every time they tried to get her to leave the beach. She laughed, knowing that was probably true

2000 Honeymoon In the photo, Jimmy had his back to the camera as Chris hugged him from behind. The camera was close enough to see the boys and the pretty sunset as they stood on the beach, watching it.

She had asked them why they took three years to have a honeymoon. Jimmy had stopped and looked at Chris for an answer. He had cleared his throat and put his hand in Jimmy's.

"We wanted to get everything situated before we went. We wanted the house to be furnished, and we were supposed to go after it, but we want to start a family. You came along, and we haven't really found a way to go do it. We decided three years later since we didn't want to give your grandma any more trouble with you." Chris told her, looking over at Jimmy. He nodded and looked back at her to smile. She felt like they were lying but didn't press any further.

2000 Julia's First Day At Daycare The photo showed a room that was her first daycare with Jimmy crouched down next to her, kissing her on the cheek as she stood with her back to the camera.

"All you need was reassurance and a kiss before you went. I was surprised since I thought you would be crying and having a meltdown." Jimmy told her when they looked at the photo. She smiled and got up to go sit in Chris's lap. Out of both of them, she favored Chris more than Jimmy, always wanting to be near him. Now, she favored Jimmy more since she didn't get to see Chris a whole lot after the divorce.

2000 Julia's Second Birthday The photo showed Julia in a highchair as she dig into the cake that was placed in front of her. Chris was squatting next to the highchair with frosting on his nose. Jimmy was next to Chris kissing him on his cheek.

Another song started to play, a song that always broke her heart. She inhaled sharply, trying to get through it. She flipped to the next photo.

2001 Vacation In the photo, Jimmy was holding her as he pointed at the glass. They were at an aquarium in Florida where they always went for a vacation. She always loved the sea creatures, and when they could, they would bring her to the beach or an aquarium. She looked over at the stuffed turtle she had got from the gift shop that very same day the photo was taken. She grabbed it and hugged it tightly, his bottom lip quivering.

She dropped the photos onto the bed and got up, running to Jimmy's room. They were home alone that night; her stepfather and his two sons had left the day before to go hunt in the woods. Jimmy want to stay behind to spend time with Julia, so she knew they were safe.

She ran into the room and saw Jimmy on the bed with the remote in his hand. When he saw the look on her face, he got up and ran to her. Throwing his arms around her, he cooed in her ear, telling her she was okay.

"I'm not okay Dad. I want you and Daddy to be together again. Why did you divorce him? Why?" She wanted answers to why her family broke apart and strangers replaced them. She sobbed more, gripping the turtle hard.

"Oh, honey. Were you looking through the photos again?" Jimmy asked, gripping her hard as he felt her lose her grip on him and become weaker. She had nodded, nuzzling her nose into his neck. She gripped him, not wanting to lose him. "I'll go call Daddy."

"Please." She begged, letting Jimmy guide her to his bed. He placed her on the bed and grabbed the phone, dialing his ex-husband's number. He handed her tissues as he put the phone to his ear. He waited for him to pick up as he stared at her. He sat down on the bed and scooted close to her, wrapping his arm around her.

"Hey, Chris." He spoke as he picked up the phone. "Can you come over?" He had a short conversation with him before hanging up. Julia was playing with plush, tears still running down her face. She sniffled, blowing her nose.

"Julia, you know Daddy and I won't get back together. Why are you still crying over it?" Jimmy tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as he kissed the top of her head. She laid her head onto his chest as she shrugged. He rubbed her arm and sighed, deciding to be quiet.

A few minutes passed and the front door opened, hearing it close and footsteps thud down the hallway. Chris entered the room and looked at them. Ever since the divorce, Chris let himself go. He would dress plainly and his bread became unkempt and rough. He was starting to make an attempt at making himself look better, but he still needed a lot of help.

He went over to the bed and crawled onto it on the other side, wrapping his arms around her as she got off Jimmy to let Chris hug her. She then sat in the middle of them, letting them wrap their arms around her and hold her.

"Princess, why were you looking at the photos? Do you miss us being together?" She nodded as a fresh round of tears started. Jimmy got up and went out of the room, leaving Chris alone to deal with her. He hugged her tightly as he noticed the turtle. He put it on her chest and let her hug it.

Jimmy came back with the pile of photos that she was looking through and got back on the bed. He placed them on his bedside table and wrapped his arms around her.

"Can you guys please get back together? It still hurts and I hate the stranger that replaced you guys." She bursted into tears and buried her face into Chris's chest. Both the men looked at each other, realizing their big mistake.

"Hun, we can't get back together. I'm married now and Daddy had found another love. We've moved on." Jimmy told her, brushing back her hair. She bursted into more tears, getting Chris's shirt all wet but he didn't care.

"But who cares?! Talk it out! Maybe you guys will realize how big of a mistake you made! You guys are fine when you spend Christmas, Thanksgiving, and my birthday together! You guys are actually happy with each other! Why can't you just talk it out?!" She yelled at both of them, getting out of bed and running out of the room.

The men looked at each other as they heard the back door open and shut. They knew where she was going but they decided to give her a couple of minutes. Chris got up out of bed, scratching the back of his neck. Jimmy followed him but grabbed his wrist before Chris went out of the room. He turned to him and waited to see why he did that.

"We need to talk about this later. I mean, it's been twelve years, and here she is, still crying over it like it happened yesterday." Jimmy told him, letting go of his wrist. He nodded and turned back around to go to Julia.

They opened the sliding glass door and walked out onto the back porch. They saw the treehouse they had both built for Julia's fifth birthday, back when things were happy. Things became rocky after that and they divorced each other when she was seven years old. But when they were still together and happy, they stayed up there for long periods of the day and night, looking at the sky and talking about their days.

Chris was the first up the ladder to the treehouse, hearing sniffles as he got closer. He pushed himself up into the treehouse and saw Julia sitting in the corner on a beanbag. He scooted close to her as Jimmy got up into the treehouse.

He went over to her and sighed. She picked up a dead leaf that was left there since fall and threw it out the window they craved out of the wood. She gestured to them to go grab the other beanbags and sit down with her.

"We'll talk about the situation, Julia. But we want to know your side. Why do you want us back together and what do you want us to answer?" Chris told her as he grabbed the beanbag from the other corner of the treehouse. He threw it next to Julia and sat down on it. Jimmy leaned back against the wall, legs spread out as he looked at Julia.
