《Smile For The Camera ~ trixya》Our Forgotten Dream

Trixie was certain that she was about to start a storm on Twitter, but she was done caring about what others had to say about her. If Katya and her label got to release lies, then she should be able to release the truth just as freely. People could choose to believe whoever they wanted to, but at the very least she wanted them to have heard both sides.

"Welcome to the studio, Trixie Mattel!" James Barley announced.

"Thanks for having me, James." Trixie said as she gave him a quick hug before sitting down.

"It's a pleasure having you back on the show. Of course, it's a bit of a different situation then last time, if you don't mind me mentioning it." He said as he took his seat.

"No, that's alright, I'm sure everyone has seen the articles by now anyways."

"So you don't mind us talking about it then?" James asked, even though Trixie knew he was already aware that she had agreed to discuss the breakup.

"No, I think it's only fair if the world hears my side of the story too." Trixie assured him.

"So, you would say your version of events isn't the same as Katya's then?"

"Correct, my version of events isn't like hers at all." She replied. A gasp spread around in the studio audience, the statement taking them by surprise.

"How so?" James questioned. Trixie appreciated that he simply asked her to expand upon her statements rather than asking completely new questions every time, it gave her space to answer properly without feeling stressed.

"Well, Katya said it wasn't serious, that we weren't serious and... that just isn't true."

Another gasp was heard from the audience, and then tons of whispers around the studio.

"So you're saying it wasn't just a Hollywood fling?" The interviewer said.

"No, it wasn't just a fling, at least it didn't become that... It became real, even though that was never the plan. You see, when we first announced we were dating, when we came on your show, back then it was supposed to all be pretend." Trixie told him.

"Wait, so you're saying it wasn't a real relationship to begin with? Then doesn't that sort of support Katya's statement?" James asked, seeming shocked at the news. He had known they'd be discussing the breakup, and that Trixie meant that it was a serious relationship, but this she had not told him about in advance.

"I think we might have to go back to the beginning of the story if this is gonna make sense to anyone else but me." She said with a slight laugh, realizing how confusing this had all gotten.

"I think that might be best." He replied with a slightly amused, but warm smile.

Trixie thought back to the first time she had been on his show, how nervous she had been, and how it had been Katya who had made her feel comfortable. This time James seemed to be more considerate, more caring and careful with how he got the answers out of her. His eyes kinder as he guided her through the interview, genuine compassion shining through them.

"Well, honestly it all started with a fight, but not a lover's quarrel. Katya, there's a lot to say about her, but she cares about acting and she cared about that movie. It was a new type of movie for her, a new kind of role, and she really wanted the movie to succeed, that's why she had issues with me being cast in it. She was scared I'd ruin it because I wasn't an actress."

"But you're so good! You've been nominated for numerous Best New Actress awards already!" James exclaimed towards the audience, causing the audience to applaud the achievement.

"Haha, thank you James. Thank you everyone. But I think she was just scared that I hadn't gotten the role because I was good, but because I had a big following." Trixie clarified.

"Ah, I see... Unfortunately not always inaccurate, but I think we can all agree that it wasn't the case with you." He said, causing the audience to clap once again.

"Thank you, really. Anyways, that misunderstanding caused a lot of tension and Katya kinda made it her mission to get me to quit the movie. That's what the fight was about, I got sick and tired of her attempts to make me quit and yelled at her in front of everyone." She said, it was a simplification but the public didn't need to know every detail.

"Ah, and then this picture was taken?" James asked, pulling up an article with their famous "lover's quarrel" photo on screen.

"Yup. The press was gonna write about the two of us hating each other and the producers were scared it would harm the movie's reception, so they demanded that we announced that we were a couple instead and that this was just a simple fight ."

"When you say they demanded it, what do you mean?"

"I mean that they didn't give us a real choice, nor did our managements. They threatened to sue us for breach of contract, among other things... And our managements... Well, Katya's said they'd rather have her in a PR relationship then have another negative media report about her. And mine agreed without even speaking to me, despite the fact that they've intentionally ruined my relationships in the past or just flat out said I couldn't date someone." Trixie said.

"Oh wow... I'm sure many will be surprised that your managements had so much power over you." James said.

"I'm sure they will be, yeah. So many of these agencies think they own you and they act like they do. They'll make you feel insignificant, threaten you and your career, all to get you to act the way they want you to. With me that meant not dating, but still being sent on dinners with investors who expected me to sleep with them at the end of the night, or being forced to perform in outfits that I wasn't comfortable in. With Katya... well, that's not my story to tell, but even just based on what she's told me, her company have been nothing short of cruel."

"My god, your company did that to you?" James asks, seeming genuinely surprised by how bad it was.

"They did, yeah... That's why I've now left my agency." Trixie said.

"Yes, you've left along with your manager and makeup artist, is that correct?"

"Yes, that is correct. I made that choice so that I could tell my story, sadly Katya is still under the control of her agency."

"So you're saying they are the ones who are behind her statement?" He asked.

"All I know is that Katya and I started dating for real after her alleged cheating-controversy. She was dealing with thoughts of me that night, trying to find a way to ignore her feelings. I was pissed at her, but she explained everything and we started for real after that. Then at the premiere of the movie we told each other that we loved each other."

"Loved? Well, that really doesn't sound like just a fling." James said.

"Yeah, it doesn't does it? The day that interview dropped... I waited for her to return home from a meeting with KTMA, but after worrying about where she was for hours, the news broke." Trixie told him.

"Wait, so you found out about your breakup through the media?"

"Yes, no one told me before it went public. Later that day, she finally called... she claimed she was forced by her company and that we could still find a way to continue on in secret. And it may seem heartless, but I told her that I couldn't do that, that I wouldn't do that."

"Why did you turn her down?" James asked.

"It's not that I didn't believe her, I wanna make that clear... It's just that I had already been a secret for years, waiting for my agency to allow me to do what I wanted, and I couldn't do that anymore. I couldn't accept that my management team should have that much power over me. And I couldn't give up someone I love, more than anything in the world, for the sake of my career. And well, I hoped that she would make the same choice and when she didn't.... I couldn't handle it." Trixie explained.

"So why come on the show and tell this to the world now? If you don't want what she can offer you?"

"I think of it more as me giving her another chance. I'll tell the part of the story I can tell, and then maybe she'll feel safe enough to tell the truth, or will realize that she's willing to sacrifice as much as I have in order to be with the one she loves." She replied.

"Well, I must say that's very romantic, Trixie." Jamed told her. "I hope you two find your way back to each other, I really do."

"I do too. I still love her, I think I always will, no matter what happens."
