《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 84: Emergency Procedure

Sophia watched as the shockwaves, from Zalroth and Zuno's weapon clash, raced towards her and the other. Before she could do anything, a tendril of Ruby's mana wrapped around Sophia's waist before being yanked in the opposite direction of the shockwaves.
Ruby reeled Sophia toward herself using her mana tendril while also pulling the other towards herself before Sophia crashed into her, followed by the two collapsing into the ground. Ruby's other tendrils drew the others next to her before one of Nola's portals appeared beneath the group. The portal rushed upwards and the group appeared inside the announcer booth while Nola, the egos/visages and Xinia appeared from another portal.
"Oh, is the fight already over-" Luna disappointedly muttered before the shockwave erupted from the crater at the centre of the coliseum and a weaker shockwave blasted the lab equipment. Luna watched as the lab equipment slammed into the wall and splattered the liquids all over the wall. Xinia slammed her forehead into the floor and complained about how hard it was to make that medicine.
"Well, we only needed one of the medicine Lola's mother asked us to make," Luna mentioned while looking a the vile of otherworldly and inverted-looking liquid.
Meanwhile, in the cavern, Zalroth's mouth profusely leaked out dark azure blue-coloured blood as he held off Zuno's attack; Zuno also tried to stop his attack before the shockwave generating mana sphere between their weapons exploded. The explosion launched their weapons into the sky while blasting Zalroth and Zuno away, and rocketing them into the ground.
Zuno front-flipped and landed on the ground, followed by Zalroth face-planting into the ground whilst holding Chronia high above him. Zalroth slowly lowered Chronia and placed her on the ground. Chronia frantically spun around and helped Zalroth to his feet, as he wiped the blood off his face.
"Well, that was close," Zalroth jokingly remarked while the blue blood continued to squirt out of his mouth, as he and Zuno reverted to their base forms. Chronia sarcastically asked Zalroth if he was referring to the aether(the thing that made Zalroth's blood turn azure blue with rainbow-coloured stars in it) concentration in his blood almost going to critical levels or that he was close to injuring the others.
"You worry too much, the Burden Taker azure ability in the staff would have kept them safe," Zalroth nonchalantly remarked as Chronia half-heartedly glared at him with a pouty expression as the Hakai-No-Michi floated back into its sheath while being covered in telekinetic energy.

"Yeah, but at your expense," Chronia stated with a slightly sulky tone. Zalroth raised his arm and the Crescent Moon Staff warped into his hand. Zalroth turned and went to walk towards Kyubi but felt something pulling on the back of his fur coat. Zalroth glanced behind himself and saw Chronia pulling on the end of his coat with both of her hands.
"Can't you wait at least five seconds for Luna to give you the blood aether density reduction medicine," Chronia pleaded while giving Zalroth desperate puppy dog eyes.
Zalroth tried to reply to Chronia but was interrupted by a violent surge of aether-infused blood gushing out of his mouth and seeping out his eyes. Zalroth instinctively dropped the Crescent Moon Staff and aggressively grasped at his chest while violently coughing up blood; Zalroth dropped to his knees and collapsed into Chronia's arms.
Chronia panicked as she got down on her knees before asking Zuno for help, but cautioned him not to let any of the aether blood get on the Hakai-No-Michi; Zuno used his telekinesis to rotate Zalroth onto his back and Chronia rested Zalroth's head on her lap. Chronia collected mana into her hands before carefully channelling it into Zalroth and circulating it throughout his body.
The gushing aether-infused blood began to slowly subside until it was only slightly leaking out of Zalroth's face. Zalroth attempted to chuckle but only managed to spit up more aether-infused blood which made Chronia concernedly glare at him. Chronia looked into Zalroth's smug-looking eyes before relievedly sighing.
"Let me guess you were going to say something stupid like..." Chronia said before clearing her throat, "...looks like I was sicker than I thought," Chronia said while mimicking Zalroth's voice with a slightly mocking tone. As Chronia continued to maintain Zalroth's condition, a rainbow portal appeared next to the group before Luna hopped out and looked around until she spotted Zalroth.
"Man this aether blood disease is more intense than I thought," Luna mentioned as she crouched down next to Zalroth and open the veil of medicine. Luna asked if the medication is supposed to be administered through the mouth or directly into Zalroth's bloodstream while pulling a transparent black null gem syringe from her medical duffel bag.

"We need to administer it directly to his heart," Chronia explained as she called for Zallino, who instantly flew out of the portal and transformed into his humanoid form(he looks identical to Zalkutaro only he is made entirely out of slightly liquidy magisteel apart from his spikey-rigid hair being made of which were pale white, he has white eyes with glowing white ring pupils; he wings and tails are now proportional to his human-sized body) while covering himself in a magisteel fibre robe.
"I presume you want to cut his chest open? Or do you wish for-" Zallino managed to say before Chronia cut him off while she profusely blushed.
"Yeah-yeah, you don't need to bring up that time," Chronia blurted out. Zallino bowed before one of his feather wings stretched out and raced over to a cluster of diced golem remains. The bending wing moved over metalic and stone remains before darting downwards and piercing a chunk of wood. The wing quickly reeled back and morphed back to its original shape before Zallino removed the wood chunk from the tip of his wing.
Zuno intently watched as the wooden chunk swiftly converted into a white null gem, starting at the areas around Zallino's fingertips. The white null gem chunk morphed into a large surgical knife before Zallino handed it to Chronia. Chronia began to carefully make an incision in the middle of Zalroth's chest, with Luna intently watching while taking notes using one hand and writing by holding her pen in her mouth.
Chronia swiftly made it cut after cut until she reached Zalroth's almost entirely azure-coloured heart. Chronia asked Luna to quickly administer the medicine; Luna nodded her head as she stuck the syringe into the medicine veil and sucked it into the syringe. Luna made sure there wasn't any air in the syringe, by squirting a tiny bit of the medicine out. Luna carefully lined up the tip of the syringe before slowly inserting it into Zalroth's heart and administering it.
After all the medicine was gone, Luna quickly removed the syringe and the group watched Zalroth's heart begin to shift to a more healthy red but still retained a slight tint of azure blue. Zalroth's chest quickly closed up and instantly healed on its own. Zalroth tried to sit up but Chronia instantly grabbed his head and placed his head back on her lap.
"You ain't going anywhere until Luna checks your condition," Chronia demanded as she wiped the blood off Zalroth's face before she lent the top of her body over Zalroth's face. Zalroth said he would although it was inaudible Chronia was still able to understand him.
After a few minutes, Luna finished analysing Zalroth with her F.B.A and breathed a sigh of relief. Chronia asked how Zalroth's constitution was doing and Luna explained it seems to have stabilised; Luna added that the concentration of aether in Zalroth's blood seems to be about 10%. Zalroth sat up, with Chronia desperately clinging to his head. Chronia hooked her foot on the back of Zalroth's fur coat's collar before she slid down the inside of Zalroth's coat and rested her chin on Zalroth's shoulder.
"Urrg, even though I know it was coming since a month ago, I almost had a heart attack myself," Chronia whined as she affectionately pressed her face against Zalroth. Zalroth joked that Chronia might almost have another one in a second before he jolted forwards when Chronia pinched his nipples.
"Don't push your luck," Chronia aggressively stated with a playful tone as she stopped pinching Zalroth. Zalroth shook his head as he stood and picked up the Crescent Moon Staff before walking towards the bound Kyubi. Zalroth thought about how he could lighten Chronia's mood before getting an idea.
"Ok-ok, I, the one who you graciously bestowed a name upon, promise I will make it up to you, once this whole ordeal is over," Zalroth stated while playing up how apologetic he was. Chronia continued to act unset at Zalroth while making angry huffs but the second Zalroth started to purr Chronia's face metaphorically melted. Chronia couldn't help imagining Zalroth in his cub kitsune form and wrapped around her neck while he acted like a neck massager as he purred.
