I pulled up in the school's parking lot and I closed my car door after I exited then I slowly looked around.
When I entered the school building, I went to my locker and I opened it in silence while glancing in a direction.
I saw Tyson at his locker and he was talking to a different girl. As I stared at them, I realized the girl was wearing a short skirt and a crop top with a pair of converse while I was wearing .
Just then, Tyson glanced twice in my direction before he stared at me and I rolled my eyes as I looked through my locker.
"Hey, blonde." I heard, soon after and I continued to look inside my locker as he leans against a locker next to mine.
"So, how was the hungover?" He asked when I kept quiet and I glanced at him with a glare.
"It was that bad, huh?" Tyson slightly chuckled as I placed two books in my locker from my bag since I missed first session.
"So, I'm guessing you do remember our little kiss, right?" I heard him asking and I froze before snapping my attention to him.
"What?" I asked, curiously and he nodded while crossing his arms over his chest.
"I was just starting to think you lost your voice." He smirked while looking at me and I slowly closed my locker as I turned to him.
"What kiss are you talking about? We never kissed." I scoffed as I held my bag over my shoulder.
"But, I thought you said, you liked it last night." He said as he leans into my personal space and I looked him in the eyes.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I slightly shoved him in the chest and he chuckled while he pulled away.
"I knew you wouldn't remember everything." He shook his head before he stretched his arms.
"I remember you almost beating a guy and I had way too much alcohol, but nothing about a kiss." I recalled short memories of last night from the party and he slight chuckled.
"So, you remember almost stripping on the kitchen counter and yelling, you don't want to go home?" He questioned while making gestures over his chest and I smacked him on the arm.

"I wasn't going to strip." I told him as I crossed my hands underneath my chest and he scoffed while looking at me.
"So, why can't you remember our kiss?" He asked while narrowing his eyes at me.
I rolled my eyes as I lean against my locker while looking the other way.
"Maybe...I should remind you of how it felt..." I heard him saying and I watched as he stood before me while putting a hand up against my locker.
"Then you will remember, probably." He added while he looked me in the eyes and I stared at him in silence.
"What are you...?" He placed a finger against my lips.
"I'm trying to remind you." He told me while he slowly leans in and I looked at his lips to see a mischievous smirk crawling up on his face.
"That's not going to work on me." I slipped away from his embrace and he looked at me from sideways before chuckling.
"That's a bummer." He ruffled his hair and I slowly started to walk backwards while looking at him.
"I wanted to see if you could blush like normal girls." He touched his jawline while checking me out and I playfully rolled my eyes.
"Good luck with that." I gave him a thumbs up and he chuckled while I turned to walk away.
I slightly smiled.
**********
I was quietly sitting at a table in the school's canteen and I continued to scroll through my Instagram page while eating an apple.
Then I was suddenly interrupted...
"Hey, Ashley." I heard Mason greeting me and I looked while the other two quietly sat down at my table.
"Hi, Mason." I said before I returned my attention to my phone and he sat beside me in a chair.
"Can I see that quote?" Mason asked as he pointed at my phone and I showed him my Instagram page.
"Why are you guys sitting with her?" I heard a familiar squeaky voice and I looked to see Jessica popping up at our table.
"A zombie." I said since I thought she died rather moved to a different school and she scoffed at me while Chase chuckled.

"Jessica, what do you want?" Tyson was the first to inquire.
"Boys, we are popular students, so we are supposed to sit together and not with the unpopular, starting with her." She gestured a hand towards me and I rolled my eyes in silence as I looked away from her.
"Jessica, not a single fuck was given, so move along." Chase said, looking annoyed.
"Oh, really? I think you guys are just pitting her." She started to laugh.
"Jessica. Why don't you go be a bitch somewhere else, before I hit you in your over full clown face." I stood up while glaring at her and Tyson laughter fills the canteen while students looked our way.
"Oh, dare you? Are you on your period?" She asked while eyeing me up and down with her hands on her hips.
"No, but I will punch you so hard that you won't have any blood left for your period." I threatened her and she looked shocked by my words.
"That's right, I wouldn't stop till you're dead, bitch." I said, bluntly and she took deep breath while staring at me.
"You psycho!" She suddenly slapped me across the face and I touched my cheek as I looked at her.
That's when shit suddenly got real...
However, I didn't realized, I punched her in the face until I saw her sitting on the floor with a hand over her eye while breathing hard.
Then, the next thing I knew, I was being thrown over a hard shoulder before I could finish what Jessica started and the person carried me out of the canteen.
I started to hit the person on the back and it was a boy, for sure...
"Put me down, you asshole." I snapped, angrily.
"Calm down, badass." It was Tyson and I groaned in frustration.
"Tyson, put me down!" I yelled while I hit my hands against his back, but I stopped as soon as I felt a slap on my ass.
"How dare you?" I asked in an unbelievable tone and I heard Tyson chuckle.
"At least you calmed down." He told me before he placed me onto my feet then I discovered we were still inside the school, but in an empty hall.
"I can't believe you spanked me." I said as I glared at him and he slight chuckled.
"And I can't believe you nearly killed that bitch." He pointed in a direction to the canteen and I ran a hand through my hair as I chuckled.
"I would have, if you didn't pull me away." I sighed as I touched my cheek.
"You should be glad." He poked me in the shoulder and I scoffed while I looked him in the eyes.
"That I didn't get to hit her good?" I asked, bluntly as I placed my hands on my hips.
He smirked.
A throat was suddenly cleared and we both looked to see Mason approaching us with our stuffs in his hands.
"You both have some explanation for me." Mason looked between us and I took a step away from Tyson while he runs a hand through his hair.
"What explanation?" Tyson raised a brow and Mason slightly chuckled.
"Ashley. What about you?" Mason looked at me and I shrugged, since I was confused.
"I don't even know what you're talking about." I awkwardly chuckled and he slowly nods.
"Whatever you say, my dear friends...and here's your stuffs." Mason said, cheekily as he gave me my bag along with my phone then he gave Tyson a phone.
"Now, let's get going, you two." Mason ordered as the bell rang and Tyson groaned in respond.
Then we began to walk down the hall.
I glanced Tyson looking at me and I looked at him then he looked away, so I awkwardly looked at Mason to realized, he was looking between us in silence.
"Awkward." I slightly smiled to myself.

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
