>> Meanwhile, Naamah, the newly hired Knight for the Queen takes a walk at the hallway while her Highness is busy for the work.
“This castle is huge, I never expected this to be big.” Looking around, she utters in wonder. This has been a dream come true to her life.
Since she’s a child, being a Knight to serve the Queen is her ultimate dream. Never had been skipped a training for the boys in the village to be the best.
And if her mom was against it, Naamah still pursues it. She joins the military corps to acquire further combat skills and training. Now that she got at the top of the class, and hired to be the Knight, that fulfills her dream and to be by the Queen’s side.
“And yet, Her Highness said I must also protect the King? Where is he?”
Naamah’s brows fuzzed as she mumbled. Each servants passing her takes a bow. She doesn’t know about it, but does the latter as well. “Are you the new Knight assigned for the Queen?”
From behind her is a girl’s voice called out. Naamah turns to see the one speaking. At the basking light illuminating over the window is a young girl wearing a cloak.
Her eyes glimmer with life, and a bird standing on her shoulder grasps its wings. Her silver-grayish hair sparks as well. “Hi. Uhm...” Naamah greeted, as the girl walks forward.
“I’m Vangloria from the Household of Vanitatem. This is my familiar, Javi.”
Naamah nods as she raises her hand to handshake. “My name’s Naamah, the Queen, Her Excellency’s Knight.” Vangloria grabs her hand and fulfills a handshake.
“You know me, from my looks alone... yes?”
“A Mage under the Queen’s command, I presume?” Naamah answers. Vangloria chuckles as she nods. “It is indeed, I am under the Queen’s command. But now we have a King, that we are under his care.”

They proceed on walking as Vangloria replied. “You said we have a King, huh?” Naamah asked in wonder. “Yes, we already have one.”
That made Naamah wondered what kind of person is the King. Since the time she arrived here, the King never come to meet her, also, to swear fealty to him.
“Let’s go where everyone is. I’m sure you will be glad to meet them.” Proceeding forward, Vangloria leads Naamah to meet the rest of the Mages.
At the meadow-like place beside the castle, Beelzebub and the others are gathering. “Hey, everyone!” Vangloria called as she waves. Everyone turns their heads to look.
“Big sister Vangloria!” Tristritia runs forward to greet the girl, as well as the others. “Look, Miss Vangloria! I finally summoned a great familiar!”
Chirping gleefully, Beelzebub announced as she holds a small animal, a rat-like creature in red fur and one horn pluck on its head placed on her hand. “Congratulations on summoning your familiar, Beel.” Vangloria greets with a smile.
“Hey, Vangloria...” Prida and Mammon greet, as they look at the person beside her. “Is that the Knight everyone talks about?” Following up is Asmodeus.
“Ah, yeah...” Vangloria smiles as she turns to Naamah. “Go ahead and introduce yourself.”
Naamah steps forward as everyone turns their attention to her. “I’m Naamah, the Knight assigned for the Queen.” She introduced. Everyone nods and smiles to greet her.
“We’re the mages under the King’s command, Tristitia is my name.” the kid answers whilst holding a sloven bunny on his hand. “Am Loth, Master Tristitia’s trustful aid!”
Naamah was amazed by how this young boy speaks without opening his mouth. Only his doll who does by making animate gestures through his hands.
“Ah, he’s a Ventriloquist.” Mammon answers. “And I’m Mammon,” he added. Naamah nods and smiles at him. “Asmodeus.” The girl standing beside Mammon introduces herself.

“I’m Prida.” Another girl riding a werelion comes forth to greet. With a soft scowl, the animal took a sniff to Naamah. “He’s intrigue about you. Mind if you give him a scrub?”
Though, Naamah feels a bit agitated to do so, she reaches out to touch the nose of the animal. With a gentle snore, the Werelion’s eyes closes.
“Oh, looks like the big boy got a fond for someone.” Mammon chuckles. “Ah, uhmm...” Beelzebub calls out. “I’m Beelzebub, from the Household of Gula.”
“And I am, too... am glad to meet you all.” Naamah answers with a smile. “And speaking of that, you haven’t met our King yet?” Prida chides in.
“Ah, no. Only Her Excellency.”
“Hmmmm... is he still in study? He seemed to be eager to study now that everyone knows the Queen is already engaged.” Mammon added. “It seems like it. He’s a mortal, after all.”
Vangloria speaks, as Naamah twitches to hear her thought. “What... what did you just say?”
Everyone’s eyes turn to Vangloria, as she grasped out of surprise. “Huh?” though she tries to pretend nothing happened, Naamah’s eyes squinted with scrutiny.
“You said our King, the Demon King... is a mortal?” Naamah asked. Her voice is mellow, but with wonder. “Uhm...” her eyes averted off from Naamah’s gaze.
“We should tell the truth. There’s no reason to hide it anyway.” Tristitia answered. “Well, it’s already out so—-"
“And you’re accepting it as just like that?” Naamah interjected, before Tristitia continues. “Relax, there’s no point on it. The Queen herself chose that man.” Mammon answers.
“Huh.” Out of disbelief, Naamah grunts. Beelzebub starts trembling again, remembering what happened that time. “I—-I am the one who is responsible for it."
Her voice shakes out. “I am summoning a familiar that time, but that mortal happened to appear before me. I—-I don’t have any idea at all! I swear!"
“You don’t need to explain it further, Beel. We all know it’s not your fault.” Prida comforts Beelzebub as she nods to response. “And everyone from the Kingdom knew about it?”
Naamah asked, as everyone nods to response. “Well, not everyone. The citizens haven’t got an idea the next Demon King is a mortal.” Asmodeus chided.
“So that’s why Her Highness asked me to protect also the King, huh.” Naamah pondered.
“And so, you know it, I believe you won’t be back down to protect our King, right?” Vangloria asked. Naamah looks at her but averts off. “I am not so sure, because we despise mortals since the beginning.”
“Or that’s the story our predecessors had said. We met him and he seemed fine getting along with.” Prida speaks.
“Yeah, he is kind, though fear accumulates on him.” Mammon smirks. Prida nods to agree. “This happened because the gear of fate starts to move. And Goddess Lenir decides to let him come here from another world to be betrothed to the Queen.”
Asmodeus added the thoughts, ae everyone looks at her. “You think that’s the reason?” Naamah asked. Asmodeus nods to answer. “That is how I see it. I mean, in our history... this was never happened before.”
She’s right. This was never happened in the Demon history. Demon bloodlines are only pure to everyone here. Never had any other race have made contact with them.
But now, the history is altered. How will this unprecedented revelation unfold, that’s what Naamah wants to know.
