《Reiss of the Eternal》Merrow’s Blood – part 11

For Einar, the old man might as well have been the father he had never had; born into crippling poverty, life had taken many things from him while he was but a mere child, some, even before he ever took his first steps. His real parents counted among them.
The old man took him in while on one of his long voyages to the frosty waters of Frost-Edge a city of hardened hearts set at the very end of the kingdom, known only for its frozen shores and even colder citizens.
Winter season in Frost-Edge is famous all over the world for the inclemency of the weather. The temperature gets so low that the waters surrounding the port freeze over, leaving the sips stuck and the sailors stranded. obviously, no ship can sail until the thawing, thanks to this the winter season is also the most profitable one for business owners.
But winter isn’t only good for the merchants of the city. Winter season brings new opportunities, Ever-Snow Isle being one of them. A landmass close to the city famous for being a graveyard filled to the brim with treasure, and during winter it’s very easy to just walk across to it, a popular place for the starved adventurers and mercenaries just crazy enough to face the dangers of the isle.
It seems that the only people not profiting in some ways during winter are the low class, the poor, and the dammed.
That year, winter had arrived earlier than anticipated. The old captain, who was then much younger and fit back then, saw himself trapped in the coldest city in the world. And it was during a particularly nasty night where not even the strongest of drinks and experienced tramps worked to warm him up, that the old man crossed paths with Einar… he was shaking like a leaf sitting alone in an alley, frostbite had already taken a few fingers and he was using whatever body heat was left from his father’s carcass to cling onto life even if for another painful moment.

Einar always thought that the old man must have felt a strong pity for his sorrowful state and decided to take him in under his wing, he treated him almost like he would a son; he fed him, clothed him, nursed him back to health and then once the meat returned to young Einar’s bones… he gave him his first training sword, once the ice finally melted over Einar left Frost-Edge with him and never looked back.

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online

Touching Stories Of The Sahaba (ra) ..
Stories have always been a great and powerful way to Learn, Understand & Motivate our Imaan (Faith). So why not learn and experience some of the Best Stories of Islam to inspire and understand the importance of our lives...One of the ideas that made me compile this book was that Muslim parents while going to bed at night, instead of telling myth and fables to their children, may narrate to them such real and true stories of the golden age of Islam that will create in them an Islamic spirit of love and esteem for sahabah, and thereby improve their Imaan..These stories are taken from various websites, lectures and books and are well researched..These stories are not intended as biographies, but rather to provide a glimpse of the main incidents of each companion's life.
