Recipe 2.10 - In Which Bonbon makes a blended coffee drink with extra blending
Bonbon stared at the mace, panting quietly as it inched towards her head. She had activated her [Crunch Time] Arte in time. The [Raid Leader] of the [Valley Elves] (Heather, apparently) was still stuck in mid-swing, the head of her mace reduced to a snail's pace. Bonbon scooted backwards on the bench, bending down to move out of the way of the weapon's path.
Right... A Vanilla Caramel [Frostaccino] with soy milk and extra whipped cream. Bonbon was mindful of the restrictions of her Arte. Time would be slowed, but only for as long as she was actually making the order. Time would progressively speed back up to normal any time she wasn't actively working towards it. She quickly unfolded her apron and slung it over her shoulders before tying it. Time to get to work.
She pulled out a cocktail shaker, an ice pick, and a steel coffee pot from her [Knife Roll], setting them on the bench. After a moment's thought, she drew another short knife and threw it at one of the mounted raiders. The knife shot through the air, before gradually slowing to a crawl. Right...

Bonbon hopped off the cart and rushed over to Pigtail, who was still holding the bag of snacks. She grabbed the bag, wrenching it out of the raider's hands, before rifling through it and grabbing a jar of caramel candies. She tucked it into the pocket of her apron and paused for a moment, hesitating before drawing her knife up and slashing Pigtail across the throat.
Bonbon ran back to her knife roll and pulled a roll of canvas out of it, tossing it onto the ground. It unrolled as it landed, revealing a magical sigil. She hopped up into the back of the cart, quickly looking from bag to bag. Where...
Her eyes searched the wagon before flicking up to another one of the raiders, on the opposite side, holding Bonbon's bag of assorted kitchen supplies. The elf chef groaned, hopping up onto the cart and getting a few steps running start before jumping into a drop kick. Her feet struck the raider in the face, and she 'rode' the kick down. The raider fell backwards in slow motion, winding up flat on her back with Bonbon standing on her face.
Bonbon turned and snatched the bag out of the air, rifling through it and pulling out a jar of ground espresso beans and a tin of vanilla beans. She tucked both into her apron before setting the bag back in the cart where it belonged. She jumped once to stomp on the raider's face for good measure before turning to look at the leader.
Heather had completed her swing, and her eyes were slowly widening in surprise. Her lips were spread, as if she was beginning to say something, and her eyes were slowly shifting, tracking the spot where Bonbon had been moments before. Bonbon stopped and stared for a second.
"[Ddddduuuuuuuuuhhhhh..."
"Appropriate," she noted, before Heather's eyes found her. She startled for a second, and noticed that the leader's lips seemed to be moving just a hair faster. Right. Cooking.
Bonbon ran around the cart the long way, taking another opportunistic slash at a raider which sadly only grazed her. She rushed back and slid the last few feet to the sigil she'd thrown on the ground. Slapping her hand on it, she imbued it with mana, giving a satisfied nod as the various lines and runes began to glow a bright red. She opened the coffee pot and poured in the ground espresso and some water, sealing it again before setting it on the [Stove Rune] to boil.

She fetched a small box of soy milk from her knife roll. She didn't have time to do a proper infusion, so she'd just have to simmer it with the vanilla and melt the caramel into it. She glanced up and jerked back in time to dodge a slow-mo swing of the mace. Bonbon looked around her.
Time had gotten to the point where the movement of the raiders was easily observable. Pigtails was slowly bringing her hands up to her neck, a grimace of pain on her face. The knife Bonbon had thrown earlier had struck home, bouncing off the raider's chainmail. Bonbon winced. She'd have to work on her aim.
"Buuuuuuuuuuuuulllllll..." Heather said, her mace slowly drifting through the air. Bonbon quickly grabbed a saucepan and tall glass. She turned and hopped back off the cart, bringing everything over to the coffee pot, which had successfully boiled. She shifted it to the side and placed the saucepan on the rune, emptying the soy milk into it and unwrapping a few of the candies. She ran towards the closest raider, one who was still mounted, and wielding a bone axe.
Bone Axe shifted back in slow motion, reacting too late to prevent Bonbon from stabbing her in the stomach. The elf turned and threw one of the candies into the saucepan, before stabbing again. Bonbon ran back, dropping the rest of the candies into the pot, and popped the lid on the vanilla tin. She moved to scrape the bean into the milk before hesitating.
"I should probably use a clean knife..."
Bonbon hurried to the knife bag, grabbing a small paring knife.
"Shot]!" a voice shouted.
"Huh?" Bonbon looked up just in time to see Heather's mace catch her in the face, sending her flying backwards off the cart. She hit the ground with a thud, her face throbbing. Her HP had taken a pretty massive hit.
"That's, like, a totally cheap [Arte], girlfriend." Heather called down to her, stepping onto the cart and kicking Bonbon's knife roll to the side. "But you're not the only one with cheap [Artes]."
"Nnngh..." Bonbon groaned in response, propping herself up a bit with her arms. The rest of the raiders were still moving in slow motion, but Heather was moving at full speed. The coffee... If time reset back to its normal pace, she was done for. She reached to her left and dumped the freshly-brewed coffee into the simmering soymilk, before hopping up and snatching the pot from the rune. She ran to the left, dodging wide around Pigtails, who had one hand at her throat, and the other swinging a bedazzled warhammer.
Heather leaped from the cart and began chasing her on foot, raising her mace into the air. Bonbon took the corner of the cart at a run, tossing the pot into the air, where it immediately began to fall in slow motion. She made a quick lunge for the raider that she'd grazed earlier, this time scoring a direct stab to the Valley Elf's stomach. Behind her, the [Raid Leader] was catching up. Bonbon turned and reached into the back of the cart. She grabbed hold of what she was after, hauling it out just as Heather swung her mace.
Heather brought her weapon down with a growl, then watched in shock as it impacted the face of the dead guy who had been in the back of the cart. The mace shattered in her hand, exploding into shrapnel as if it'd hit some kind of [Absolute Invulnerability] or something.
"Wha?!"
Bonbon shoved Hiro into the shocked raider's arms, before catching the pot out of the air and continuing to run around the cart. She glanced back as she ran, watching Heather struggling with the slow-motion, oddly-rigid Hiro, shoving him away like a physics prop as he floated through the air.
Bonbon grinned a smile. This might work... She might actually have a chance! She turned back around, and immediately tripped over a rock, flopping forward and splashing the contents of the pot across Heart Eyepatch's face.
The good news was... the scalding milk had been a pretty effective attack. The bad news, though...
Heart Eyepatch's pained shouts slowly increased in pitch as time went back to normal. Bonbon scampered to get to her feet before a pair of arms grabbed her by the straps of her apron, tossing her into the back of the cart.
She whirled around, knife held in shaking hands, to see a furious Heather. All around her, the rest of the raiders closed in on the cart, staring murderously.
I-I'm doomed...

Teddy Bear
As it would stand, the truth of the matter was that aliens had visited Earth before. Roswell was neither a hoax nor unique. It was simply a consequence of a world growing smaller as communication systems became more and more advanced, partly a result of said visitations. For the most part, past interactions between one of the planet Earth's more intelligent species of lifeform and the alien visitors were along the lines of obscure scientific surveys and tests disturbingly similar to attempts by some human scientists to estimate the intelligence of simians. For any species capable of travelling the stars. Visiting planet Earth made about as much sense as backpacking through the Ural Mountains of Siberia with nothing but a flint and a compass. That is to say, most people would prefer to stay close to someplace within walking distance of a mall or a population density slightly higher than four sapient beings per parsec. Still, statistically speaking, there are bound to be some weirdos who find joy rides though a nowhere solar system fun. Just buzzing a frantic farmer or two and playing chicken with an F-16 for the heck of it. Maybe even bring home a bovine to show off to the guys at the office.

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
