Nyx's pov

The cool spring wind swept across the length of my gown as I left the cemetery walking away from my favourite tomb stone, I tried to walk as fast as my swollen legs could carry me with my hands atop my baby bump like it was going to fall if I didn't hold it.

I walked through the gates, the cool breeze caressed my skin and scattered some of my blonde locs. I squinted at the glaring sunlight while running my fingers through my hair, my eyes out searching for the person I had come with.

He wasn't here and I was infuriated. This pregnancy had come with me getting angry at every thing and any little thing that didn't even warrant a reaction, I couldn't control it. The hormones were acting out and I had no control over them.

I had told him to wait here while I went inside cause I wanted to be alone, that didn't mean that he should wander away like he wasn't meant to stay beside me.

"You are done?" His voice pulled my attention and I looked to see him coming from behind a tree. My fists were balled by my side and I knew my face was all red cause of how furious i was and he had the impudence to find it funny for I could see a smile creeping up his lips, "Calm down your highness." He said softly as he walked up to me. He placed a hand on my shoulder but I hit it off not wanting him too close cause I was mad, "You said you wanted to be alone…"

"That didn't mean you should wander off!" I glared at him as his eyes twinkled with amusement and at this point I wanted to rip out his golden hair that glinted in the sunlight, "Take me home Andros!" I snarled before bumping his shoulder and walking straight to the car.

I could hear him giggle as he followed my trail, he got to the car before me and opened the door, "Don't piss me off!" I glared before entering into the back seat. He nodded with a smile, shut the door and climbed into the driver's seat to start the trip.

The werewolf cemetery wasn't really a long way from the castle, it was walkable, the type of distance you would consider walking as a form of exercise but as my pregnancy grew I had to result to transportation instead of walking like I usually did before I became heavier.

"What's my schedule for today?" I asked Andros as he drove on, I could see the castle towers within view now, we were nearer.

"Meeting with the Alphas an hour's time from now to conclude on the case of Titan's pack. After that, you are going to meet with the elders on the deliberation of the next ball, I can represent you there if you want." He said to me taking a turn.

"There won't be need for that, I can attend myself." I said to him looking out the window with a sigh escaping my lips.

"Nyx, you are due anytime soon you shouldn't be stressing over these issues, that's why you have me your beta, it's my du…"

"It's enough Andros." I cut him short noticing my irritation building again and I didn't want to get too angry, "I said I can handle it myself."

"If he were here, he wouldn't want you stressing." He grumbled before fixing his gaze back on the road. We both went quiet but his words pricked my heart.

My hand went up to my neck to fiddle with the necklace Lycus had gotten me a long time ago, I wore it around as a reminder, to feel his presence everywhere I went but it was hard not to miss him, it was hard to accept the fact that he wasn't here and I hated to be reminded of it.

The car came to a halt indicating that we had reached the castle. Andros came down, moved to my side and opened the door. I stepped down from the car, "Assemble the Alphas in the conference hall, I assume that they are around already. I want the meeting over and done with." I didn't look him in the eye. I just dished out my orders and strode off but he caught me before I could go far and pulled me in his arms.

"I know you are hurting." These five words made me welcome the embrace and I broke down in tears, sniffing hard with my shoulders heaving as I clutched onto his shirt and cried, "Things are not always the way we want them and no one questions your choice, you did what you had to do."

"I wish he were here." I mumbled with my tears streaming down my cheeks, "I miss him so much and having just reminders of him every day is never enough."

"I know." He whispered smoothing my hair, "Stop crying please, you would upset yourself and the baby."

"I can't." I mumbled, "It hurts so much and each time I think about our moments together, it's like I am reliving the pain all over again and with each passing day it's harder to accept reality."

"You will get over it." He cooed, "I know how it feels but you will, trust me and soon enough you will be okay."

I nodded and pulled away from him, wiping my hands across my face to clean my tears.

"Andros!" A high pitched female voice squealed and I instantly knew that it was Lilith, Andros's mate and my very good friend. I smiled as she waved and ran towards us crashing straight into Andros's arms.

My heart ached as I watched their displayed affection and their present lip lock. I wish I had that at the moment. I was happy for Andros, finding a second chance mate was rare and he did, I was glad that I let him live. He deserved his own share of happiness.

"How are you fairing Nyx?" She asked me pulling away from her mate and coming to drape her arm across my shoulder, "Amara and Rose wouldn't shut up about the baby coming soon." I laughed at this, Rose was her daughter from her previous mate just like I had Amara and they were age mates making them great friends.

"I am fine." I sighed, "Just anticipating the awaited date so I could finally have my child in my arms."

"I can't wait to be an aunt!" She squealed again and Andros shook his head.

"We are going to be late for the meeting luna." He winked at me, "See you later love." He kissed her on the cheek before leading me into the castle for the meeting.

As we walked through it, several wolves bowed before me saying their good wishes for the baby and I. I could only nod having nothing much to say, the joy wasn't complete without him here by my side.

We reached the hall and entered. The Alphas were already seated. They stood up paying their respects as I walked inside, "Let's get this over and done with." I smiled lightly as I made my way to the chair where Lycus would have been seated.

Andros drew it out for me and I sat, he then proceeded to take his seat where I would have been seated next to lycus.

The discussions started and so did the bickering of the Alphas on what to do with the abandoned pack as they couldn't let the wolves go rogue.

I had already sentenced to death every male from the pack that had hurt me and raped me. Most of them died in the war and I had to make sure that the rest knew my wrath. Their trails and punishments were held the previous day and so just women and children with few men were left.

"The women and children should be shared amongst the other packs and given a good supportive start to their new lives and then the men should also be given the same treatment and enrolled into the warriors Academy." I pronounced shutting their arguments, "That's my final take on the issue, the meeting is over, see y'all next time." I stood from my seat and they did the same bowing to me as Andros led me out of the hall.

"What's next?" I asked.

"The meeting with the elders and your evening check ups." He answered and I sighed as we walked down the hallways. It was going to be a long day.

"Good night mummy." Amara mumbled as I put her to bed, "Good night baby." She whispered to my tummy rubbing it as she said her words.

"Good night love." I tucked her into bed with a smile and after I was sure that she was half asleep. I blew her a kiss, put off the lights and went out of the room closing the door softly behind me.

I reached my room and walked up to the closet. I needed to retire early tonight and I was following my usual routine. I pulled open the closet and put on one of Lycus's T shirt as I did every night.

I felt euphoric wrapped up in his scent as I dragged myself to the bed. It wasn't close to having him near but I had no choice.

I fell onto the bed and soon I fell into deep slumber.

My eyes snapped open as I felt strong hands against my belly, his scent invaded my nostrils and I went crazy with emotions knowing whom it was.

"You came back." I cried as he pulled me in his arms engulfing me in a big hug, "I missed you so much, the calls, texts and…"

"Shhhh." He cut me short by placing his lips on mine capturing them in a soft kiss, "I didn't want to wake you love." He rubbed my hair, "I missed you more."

"I wasn't expecting you till two months from now Lycus, why are you back so early?" I asked.

"I couldn't miss the birth of my child for anything in the world." He rubbed my bump and kissed my cheeks, "Besides I wrapped up the meeting with them (supernaturals) quickly enough to get back here I am still shocked that it took months to clear everything up but it's over now and Andros told me how you always visit Xerxes's monumental tomb stone often…"

"Yes." I nodded, "And just earlier today I was bitching about how much I missed you and I had begun to regret not following you when you asked."

"You made your choice." He laughed earning a light blow from me, "But I am here now."

"I am glad." I whispered rubbing my nose on his as he rested his hands on my bump playing with it and caressing it softly.

"On my flight back, I was wondering what would have happened and what would have been your choice if the moon goddess hadn't considered your pleas. I wondered who you would have chosen or what you would have done." I was resting against him now with his fingers playing with my hair.

"You already know the answer to that." I whispered leaning in to his touch. My heart fluttered at the fact that he was here now and he was with me, "But I just had to try cause you both deserved to live."

I couldn't believe how far we have come, thinking of everything we had been through and how things came to play, "I love you." He whispered against my ear with his scent invading my senses, "I love you." He said again and in that moment I knew that I would never doubt those words no matter what was to happen.

"I love you." I whispered back leaning into his touch as he tilted my head and captured my lips with his making sure that I knew how much he meant those words as I let everything about him consume me.
