《The Alpha's Little Runner》Chapter 22

It was a nice night out tonight, so the pack was having the feast outside. There were tables lined with more food than I have seen before. Marcus and I were seated at out own table that looked out over the pack.
Everyone was in great spirits. Anyone could tell the pack felt stronger after the Luna ceremony. I guess they really do become stronger with a Luna. I smiled at the thought. "What are you thinking about, my love?" Marcus leaned over to me.
I smiled looking up to him, "I was just thinking about the pack and how they already seem stronger now."
"Of course, they are. They finally have their Luna." Marcus smiled and reached over and kissed my cheek.
I heard a sequel before turning and seeing Clover and Polly running up to me, "We are so proud of you." They both said at the same time and pulling me into a big hug. I laughed and hugged them back.
I pulled away to hug Brian. "I am beyond proud of you Mads. Mom and dad are smiling watching you tonight," Brian whispered into my hair hold me tight. It took a lot for me not to cry at his words. "Thank you."
I pulled away and gave a small hug to Sam and Everett, both congratulating me and welcoming me as their Luna.
"Where is that beautiful daughter in law of mine?" I turned to see Melissa and Alex walking to us. I smiled at her words and pulled her into a hug. "You did great sweetie." Melissa pulled away and I hugged Alex. "You were great girl. Welcome to the pack and congrats Luna," Alex said while pulling away from me.
"Thank you all so much. I just hope I don't mess up," I smiled at them. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I could tell from the sparks that it was Marcus. "You will do great my love. Everyone already loves you so much. Just like me." I smiled at his words and leaned into his hold.
We stood their talking before it was time to eat. Marcus and I took seats, and someone brought us plates of food. Everyone else would go through the line at the tables. I enjoyed dinner while watching over the pack.
I smiled at the little ones who were playing off to the side. Their parents watched with close eyes as well. I stood from my chair and Marcus looked over a little worried, "What is it? Is something wrong?" I laughed slightly, "No, nothing is wrong. I was just going to go play with the kids." I pointed to the group of kids who were playing.

Marcus looked over and watched the kids. "Alright, just be careful." I leaned over and gave him a quick kiss before making my way over the kids. It seems they were playing tag. "Hey guy." I smiled at the kids. They all turned to me and bowed their little heads slightly, "Luna."
"I was wondering if I could play with you all," I leaned down to their level, so I wasn't towering over them. They all got excited at my words, "We would love if you played with us Luna. We are playing tag." One of the little boys stepped forward and told me. "Alright, who is it?" I asked standing back up. A little girl stepped forward and tagged me, "Tag! You're it!" The kids started to run around the small area laughing and having fun. I quickly kicked off my heels knowing I would be able to run around better without them.
"You guys asked for it." I took off running after all the kids. They were fast, but I knew I was faster. I held back knowing the game would be over fast if I didn't.
I watched as Madelyn played with the kids. I smiled feeling a warmth inside me. I couldn't wait for when we had kids of our own. I noticed a lot of the pack members were watching as well. It was hard to not watch the interaction happening with the Luna and the kids of the pack.
I felt someone come up beside me. I turned to see my parents standing next to me. They too were also watching Madelyn. "She will make a great Luna, son." My dad said while patting me on the back. "I know she will do well. She was already doing things around the pack before today." I said with pride. I knew Madelyn would do amazing.
We looked over to Madelyn. She had all the kids in a circle telling them something. They all giggled and nodded at what she had told them. The kids ran over to me and jumped on me. "Alpha will you play with us please?"
"We want you to play with us."
"Luna said you have to play with us."
All the kids were talking at once. I laughed at the kids before looking over at Madelyn who was laughing at me. I smiled at the kids around me, "Of course, I can't say no to the Luna now, can I?" The kids cheered and got off me. I stood up when one of the kids call out, "Tag! You're it!" They tapped my leg, and all ran away.
I laughed before taking off after them. I ran around with the kids and Madelyn for a while. I was it again and took off after Madelyn. She squealed before taking off. I was already close to her, so it didn't take me long to catch her. I pulled her to me, "I got you." I leaned down and kissed her exposed shoulder. She shivered at my touch. "Yeah, you did," she whispered.

"Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight." Madelyn looked stunning in her dress. However, I wanted so badly to just take it off her. It was hard to keep holding myself, but I knew I would until she was ready. I didn't want to do anything to make her feel rushed.
She blushed before turning around. She wrapped her arms around my neck and swayed to the light music in the background. "Thank you. And you don't look to bad yourself there Alpha." Madelyn smiled up at me. The kids were long gone. They probably got called back over to their parents to give us some privacy.
We continued to dance with each other for a while. I felt something trying to mind link me, but I ignored them. I was enjoying the time with Madelyn. They continued to try, and mind link me. "I'm sorry, love. Someone is trying to talk to me." She nodded her head before heading back over to the table to eat dessert.
"What is it?" I was annoyed they had interrupted me, but I knew that I needed to answer them.
"I apologize for the intrusion, Alpha. There is another note at the border. It is addressed to the Luna." The guard seemed nervous to tell me. I was angry that someone is sending notes to Madelyn. "Bring it and leave it in my office. I will handle it later." I cut the mind link before going back to Madelyn.
"Is everything okay?" Madelyn asked looking up at me. "Yeah, everything is fine. I will handle it later." I didn't want to tell her right now and ruin her night.
I looked over to Everett, "There is another note. We are going to handle it tomorrow." He nodded at me before going back to his conversation. I smiled at Madelyn before looking out to the pack. I was nervous for what was to come. I knew whoever was after Madelyn would cause problems.
I wanted to enjoy tonight before something happened.
I smiled at Marcus after he came and sat with me. I knew something was wrong, but I wasn't going to push the issue. I knew I would talk to him later about it. We had moved on to the part where the pack can some and introduce themselves to me. I knew it would take some time, but it was worth it to know all the people of the pack.
It had been around 2 hours of meeting and greeting everyone. I was getting tired of talking, but we were on the last couple of people. "You are doing great, my love." Marcus had been reassuring me through the whole meet and greet.
I was thankful for him and his words. After the last person was gone, I quickly sat down with a sigh. My feet were killing me, and my social battery was low. I hadn't had that much interaction in a while. "You did amazing, my love." Marcus grabbed my hand and kissed it.
"How about we get out of here? You seem like you are over the crowd." Marcus chuckled while helping me stand. I nodded my head and went to tell everyone goodnight. We made our way back into the house and up to our room.
I was happy the way the night went. I was excited to officially be Luna. I smiled to myself making my way into the room. "I am so proud of you, Madelyn." Marcus came over and hugged me. I blushed at his words. He reached down and kissed me slowly. His lips were warm against mine. I could feel him smiling against my lips.
The kiss started out slow and soft but turned more heated quickly. I moaned softly as he pulled away and started to kiss down my neck. I was breathing heavy from the kiss. Marcus kissed my mark causing me to moan louder, "Marcus..." I was loving the feeling he was causing me.
I moved my head to the side to let him have more room. He growled into my neck before attaching his lips back to mine. I ran my hands into his hair and pulled at it. He pulled away and rested his forehead against mine, "Madelyn, we need to stop." Marcus' eyes were black at this point.
I knew I was the cause of it. "I don't want you to," I said looking up at Marcus through my lashes. He seemed shocked by my response, "Are you sure? I don't want you to feel pressured-" I cut him off by pulling him in for another kiss.
I barely pulled our lips apart, "Don't stop."
