"That's a p-pretty cool ride n-not gonna lie."
Amy gave Toby an impassive look before flouncing away on Brian's arm and I giggled behind my hand, watching the long bedazzled stretch limo pull away from the entrance.
GG had arrived just after we did and she had done so in style. Her dress was a seductive shade of red with a plunging neckline and her jewelry sparkled brightly under the artificial lights as Viktor, a tall European boy with a cropped military-looking haircut, took her hand daintily and lead her to the entrance. He'd transferred to our school last year and though he was good-looking he was still largely unknown, at least to me. All I knew was that he played soccer and he was apparently good at it.
Norma had exited the limo after her with their own date, the cute new recruit whose name I still didn't know, and when I grimaced at them, Toby took my hand leading the way inside.
We neglected to stop by the neon 'Prom' sign that had been garlanded with flowers, where everyone entering had been urged to take a picture with their date.
The auditorium was decorated in white and gold with banners advertising the theme and a few chairs were set up close to the stage that would later be cleared to open up the floor for dancing and socializing, activities I wasn't sure I even wanted to partake in, anymore.
It would all be an act, anyways.
The smell of different perfumes and hairsprays wafted by me as I worked my way through the bodies waddling around in their clacking heels and rented tuxes, and as I approached the stage, Principal Warner made his way up, tapping the microphone to get everyone's attention.
I listened to him launch into a speech for close to ten minutes before I finally lost interest and I was about to continue my search for Amy when I bumped into a body.
I took a step back to realize it was GG.
She scowled at me, like usual, Viktor gripping her arm to keep her steady on her feet after the collision.
Ever since that incident in the bathroom where she was left sprawled on the floor like a dead bug, she'd been avoiding me and Amy, but we saw her efforts.
She hated us and was working harder than ever to boost her popularity, more determined to get back at Amy by getting the title of Prom Queen.
It was fun to watch her struggle for some kind of relevance. I myself was still more on the sidelines where all of this was concerned but if she wanted to play dirty I could show her a thing or two.
"Watch it," she hissed, turning up her nose in disgust as she gathered her train and walked away wordlessly.
Toby, who'd been following me to my left, took a step forward to go after her and I held out a hand to stop him.
She wasn't worth the effort, besides, I still needed to find Amy.
Using my big brain, I figured if I spotted Hoodie I'd know where Amy was since he was a big guy and pretty hard to miss.
Just as I started scanning the room, the speech ended and everyone was cheering. I got on my tiptoes, drowning in fabric as I tried to look over their heads when I spotted the gentle(ish) giant over by the punch bowl.

The few chairs were being moved off the floor and the lights dimmed, a spotlight hitting the stage.
"-and now we have our special guest performers, The Vixens, with their new hit single 'Darling I Know'."
Principal Warner left the stage and as the band started up, I made my way through the hormonal teen girls flocking the stage to watch the band play.
At least they had cleared the floor, I thought, but when I finally got to the punch bowl Brian was gone and I huffed in annoyance, looking around.
Neither Brian nor Amy were anywhere to be found. I wondered if they had ditched to find a make-out spot.
Shrugging to myself I turned to Toby, "wanna dance?"
He grinned, "I'm n-not very good at dancing."
"Neither am I."
That said, we hung around behind the screaming crowd as the band played, dancing idiotically and gulping down the insipid punch whenever we got thirsty enough to not care about the taste.
Amy and Brian joined us and I didn't miss the lipstick marks on his neck as he stood watching her every move. Eventually, the band was done playing and after mingling for a few minutes to hand out flyers for their next gig, the lights shut off and the DJ booth lit up.
Prom was finally in full swing.
The dance floor came alive as popular music thumped over the speakers and flashing lights turned the room into a disco. Amy was chatting to a group of giggling girls and as I got the sudden urge to pee, I pulled Toby down by his arm to whisper into his ear that I would be heading to the bathroom.
"Don't go anywhere and please do not cause a scene while I'm gone," I warned.
He only grinned, patting my head, "I'll be good and so should you."
"Of course I'll be good," I said matter-of-factly, gathering the hem of my dress and making my way through the crowd, towards the back exit. Pushing the door open, I left the noise and lights behind and when the door closed, I felt a wave of relief in the cool air and quiet that met me in the darkened hallway.
I heard multiple footsteps approaching and I stepped aside to let a group of friends go by me, chatting loudly as they headed back to the celebration, before I shuffled down the hallways feeling like my bladder would burst.
When I entered the bathroom it was empty and I was grateful, rushing into one of the stalls and hastily pulling my dress up. I cursed out loud, fumbling with the fabric before I was eventually able to flip it over my back and drag my panties down.
Ah, sweet relief.
As I was reveling in the joy of finally emptying my bladder, a pair of heels obnoxiously clicked their way into the bathroom. Through the small crack in the stall door, I could see a red dress as the person went over to the sink, checking their reflection in the mirror.
I tried hurrying up the process but it was another few torturous seconds as the only sound in the bathroom was me peeing for what felt like a very long time.
Embarrassing.
When I exited the stall after flushing, I realized the person by the sink was Queen GG herself. Why is it always her?
She grimaced back at me from her reflection in the mirror, in the middle of touching up her mascara and I ignored the dirty look, going over to the sink next to her.

As I was washing my hands, she finished fixing her makeup and placed the mascara back in her purse with a loud click, "I'm onto Amelie you know."
"Yeah?" I raised a brow at her, turning off the tap and putting my hands under the automatic dryer.
"Every time someone goes missing they were last seen with her. My guess is that her parents are human traffickers and she's helping them. How else could they have that much money?"
Well, she was only partially right about Amy being involved, but really, human traffickers? A smile etched itself into my face, "so you wanna be next or what?"
"Please, kitty, no one's scared of you," she looked over at me with a challenging expression, a few inches taller than me in her strappy heels, "besides you're not my main problem. In fact, I kinda feel sorry for you, showing up to prom with a freak."
She laughed behind her manicured nails, trying to seem playful, but the smile on my face immediately withered at her words.
Seeing that she'd hit a nerve, she grinned, pressing on, "what, no one asked you to prom so you took a random spazz? Pretty sad if you ask me."
She wasn't prepared for the sudden attack, a screech leaving her lips when I tackled her to the ground.
With her heels preventing her from catching her balance, we both hit the floor and I was grabbing her by the hair, punching her square in the nose before she could react.
The way she was scratching at me, lashing out with her nails as grunts left her lips, reminded me of the night I killed Cassandra. She was squirming just like this, trying to gain the upper hand, trying to stop me from taking her pathetic life.
With blood now trickling out of her nose, GG was desperately trying to fight back and I was excited at the sight of red staining my hands. Grabbing her throat with both hands, my nails dug into her skin as I slammed her head into the floor.
"Take. That. Back-" I grunted each time her head hit the cold tiles and I hissed when a sharp pain suddenly erupted in my hand. She'd managed to bite me, her teeth digging into my flesh and drawing blood.
"Fucking bitch-!" another punch forced her to let go and I was being shoved, my back hitting the sink, the wave of pain it brought on had me huffing violently.
I kicked off my heels, GG following suit as we both got to our feet. She was heaving, her eyes wild and makeup streaking her face.
"You psycho!" she gritted out, blood leaking into her mouth and dripping from her lips, "I'm going to kill you!"
"Wanna bet on it?"
She attacked first, letting out a loud cry as she shoved me backwards and I used the momentum from her attack to pull her, slamming her into the extended mirror over the sink.
Glass shattered and blood dripped down its fragments, spreading over the sink while Gwen's body slowly slid down the ceramic, leaving a trail of blood as she came to rest at my feet.
She was delirious, her eyes almost rolling back into her skull as she looked up at the fluorescent lights above us. Her hands reached upwards weakly to clutch at something, maybe her fading life force.
"You lost," I smiled down at her kindly and a sickening crack was heard when my foot came down on her neck, ending her.
It took a few seconds for reality to sink in and when it did I immediately panicked.
Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit-
I was still in the bathroom where anyone could come in at any moment and there was GG, bleeding out on the floor with a broken neck and shards of glass sticking out of her face.
Definitely doesn't look like an accident.
I let out a sigh and reached into my purse with shaking, bloody hands.
After three rings and no answer from Amy I gave up and put the phone away.
What to do, what to do?
I was pacing for a minute before I decided I had to at least hide the body to buy myself some time.
How typical, the function had barely started and I had already gotten blood on my hands.
I went over to the bathroom door to check if it could lock from the inside when it was pulled open forcefully from the other side.
Fuck, fuck, fu– oh!
My eyes widened at the boy standing before me. He was wearing a black tuxedo and his hair was gelled back in a way that made my insides stir up just a bit.
He came.
He'd even made the effort to get a suit.
I watched his gaze travel down my body in the tight dress before his sights were drawn to GG bleeding out on the bathroom floor.
He seemed to completely melt, a large smile spreading over his cheeks as he looked back at me, "god, you're so beautiful."
I smiled coyly, looking down at my hands as I twiddled my thumbs in embarrassment.
He'd never complimented me like that before, except for in the bedroom, that is; but never in that voice.
"What are you doing here, Tim?"
"Toby told me where to find you."
"No, I meant here... at Prom. I thought you hated dancing."
"I do," he pressed forward and I took a few steps back as he closed the door behind him, "but I can't stay away from you."
Butterflies. Thousands of them fluttered around in my tummy and his hands cupped my cheeks as he raised my head to look into my eyes, tucking a few stray bits of hair behind my ear.
"I missed you so much, Kit."
"It's only been a day," I stuttered out, flustered from all the attention. I get it though. Even for me, it felt like ages since I'd seen him. The look on his face was new too and it made me feel a bit nervous. I was used to him being possessive and forceful so this softness was a foreign concept to me.
"I don't care if it's been a day or ten minutes. All I've been wanting is to see you look at me like that."
"Like what?"
"Like you're happy to see me," he leaned in for a kiss but I brought a hand up to his lips, stopping him.
"I am happy to see you too but um, can you help me out first?" I motioned to the body on the ground.
His laugh sounded like music to my ears and he gave me a hurried kiss on the cheek, grinning like a schoolboy, "of course, Baby."
His hands dropped from my face and I went over to the bathroom door, pressing my back against it to keep it closed while he lifted GG's body off the ground, careful not to get blood on his suit.
"I've never seen you smile this much before," I spoke, "what's got you in such a good mood?"
"Well apart from seeing you, I've been taking my pills," he said casually, dragging the body into the furthest stall and propping it up against the toilet, making sure to tuck the legs out of view so they wouldn't be visible while the stall was closed.
"Really? Since when?"
He locked the stall from the inside before hopping over the door, coming to pick up GG's heels.
"Yeah. Just today, actually."
No wonder he seemed way more relaxed now than usual.
"How do you feel?" I asked with a tilt of my head.
This was major progress.
After he pushed the shoes under the stall keeping the body hidden from view, he stalked over to me, one hand in his front pocket, "like I'm seeing you for the first time."
I smiled sheepishly as he used a bloody hand to caress my cheek, "you remember how we met, right? It was a night just like this one. The night you changed my entire world."
"You changed my world too," looking into his eyes I could feel my heart thudding forcefully against my sternum. He looked so good in that suit and with that expression on his face, like he really was admiring me as much as he said.
His eyes searched mine as he peered down at me, "you're so beautiful, Kit. I could fall for you all over again."
"It's the hair, isn't it? I don't usually straighten it bu-"
I was cut off by his soft lips meeting mine and I allowed myself to melt into the kiss, my arms wrapping around his waist.
When he pressed me against the door, deepening the kiss, I realized I was shaking and he pulled away reluctantly to look down at me.
"You seem a little excited."
"I- I am"
"Is it because of me?"
I nodded and his smile made tears pool in my eyes, "I'm just so happy right now."
He picked me up then, bracing me against the wall as I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck.
Pressing his forehead against mine, he whispered softly, "I'm sorry."
"For what?" I whispered back, confused.
"I never loved you right, but I'm going to. I promise you. I want to know everything about you."
I folded my lips, trying to keep the tears at bay, "Tim-"
"I love you, Kit. I love you more than I've ever loved anyone or anything."
"I-"
"I love you more than I love the quiet," he set me to my feet, picking my chin up and peering into my eyes, "more than I love my own life," he pressed into me desperately, his knee between my legs as his lips grazed mine.
I was left clutching at the back of his shirt, hardly able to breathe with the way he was digging the fingers of his free hand into the skin of my waist. Even now when he was pouring his heart out he couldn't help but be aggressive.
"Timothy-" I was trying to get his attention but he didn't seem to hear me, his shoulders heaving as he melded his body with mine.
"I love you more than I want to admit because I know you could use it against me. If you tell me to kill everyone here I'll do it, Baby. If you wanted me to die I'd put the gun in your hands. I'd-"
"Stop-" I grabbed his face, pressing my forehead against his again with a smile as my eyes searched his, "I know. I know you love me."
"I want to prove it to you."
His hands were sliding down from my waist to grab my ass through my dress and I bit my lip, "you don't need to prove it, I already know and I love you too."
"You're crazy to love me," his smile held a hint of sadness.
"You made me crazy," I smiled back.
"Crazy is one leap and a gravity pull."
I raised a brow at him, "where'd you hear that?"
"A book I read, long time ago."
"What does it mean?"
"I don't really know but I think you took the leap."
I pressed my lips against his in a brief kiss, "then maybe you're my gravity."

"-your new Prom Queen is... Amelie Beaumont!"
After leaving the bathroom, Timothy and I managed to make it back in time for the announcement and I cheered as Amy went on stage, aiming to outscream everyone else that was cheering for her. When the crown was placed on her head and the mic in her hands, the cheering died down as we waited for her speech.
Tim was standing close, too close and I could feel him pressing himself against my back, clearly aroused. The whole time we were in the bathroom I had to be adamant that he kept his hands to himself, lest we get carried away and made it possible for someone to walk in on us.
Now, with his hard body against mine and his breath fanning my ear, I tried to pay attention to the speech but he was leaning in to whisper in my ear.
"I want to get you alone so bad. I want you to feel what you're doing to me."
Sliding my hand into his, I squeezed gently, "not now, I'm trying to listen."
"- the end of high school doesn't mean the end of our lives so-"
"Wouldn't you rather if I was inside you right now?" when his teeth nipped my ear I gulped, digging my nails into his palm.
"Are you soaking into your underwear yet?"
"Stop."
"and good luck to everyone! I made a lot of awesome memories here over the last four years and I can't wait to make even better ones once we go off to college."
The room was cheering again, signaling the end of the speech but before Amy could step down, Norma was rushing onto the stage, looking absolutely batshit crazy, blood staining her hands and face.
"Gwen's dead!"
Amy and I made eye contact from where she stood on the stage and as the room broke out into a panic she rushed over to us and we agreed non-verbally that it was time to get the hell out of dodge.
"I'm guessing it was you this time?" she asked, crown in hand once we were all piled in the car like old times.
"Would you believe me if I said it was an accident?" I asked, hopeful.
"Not even if you were telling the truth."
