《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 82: Two And A Half Heroes Part 1

Zalroth, with Chronia holding her arms tightly around his chest, and Zuno rapidly descended through the air until they landed at the bottom of the cavern, and in front of Sophia and the others as they were being shielded by Vivo's wings from the falling debris. Vivo quickly changed his feathers back to their normal materials as he un-unbrelled his feathers and wrapped his wings back around his body.
Zalroth confidently cracked his knuckles as Kyubi loomed over the group. Zalroth pulled his foot back and was about to charge at Kyubi before noticing Zuno holding out his white fur coat in his peripheral vision.
"You dropped this," Zuno stated as he handed the coat to Zalroth, with Zalroth remarking it would be more accurate to say he lost it. Zalroth put his coat back on and Chronia popped her head out from the back of the coat's neck collar with a giddily satisfied expression. Zalroth playfully rolled his eyes before he and Zuno got into combative stances as Kyubi began to go on the attack.
Zalroth noticed the swarm of golems within the cave and spotted Minia, in her full-body slime mode, pounding a cluster of golems into the ground. At the same time, Nola shot concentrated light mana beams through golems' mana cores. Zalroth ordered Sophia and all his ego/visages, excluding Zallino, to go assist Minia and Nola while Zuno ordered Charlotte and the kunoichi to do the same. The girls and Vivo, with Zalmaru hopping onto his shoulder, acknowledged the order before sprinting off leaving Xinia and Zallino behind.
"What... about us?" Xinia perplexedly asked as Zallino landed on the end of her mana whip. Chronia spun her head around and explained that she and Zallino need to go to Luna in the announcer booth and assist Luna with her part of the plan. Xinia nodded as Zallino flew past her while carrying the tip of her whip before lifting Xinia off the ground and flying them out of the cavern.
"Alright let's deal with that slime!" Chronia proclaimed before Zalroth and Zuno jumped out of the way of the Kyubi's palm, right before it slammed into the ground. Zalroth and Zuno landed on the ground before Zalroth activated Lightning Amp and Zuno entered FBCM(Full Body Chakra Mode) respectively; Zalroth leapt into the air before parkouring between rapidly appearing magic barriers while Zuno began to float before flying into the air.
Kyubi's hydra heads howled at the trio as they gather fire and lightning mana into their mouths. In response, Zuno raised his free arm and, while deactivating his FBCM for a split second, managed to construct a large R.R.R right before Kyubi's hydra heads blasted multiple plasma beams at the trio. Zuno lunged his raised arm forwards and fired a barrage of condensed light mana beams from the R.R.R.

The light mana beams raced past Zalroth and Chronia before clashing with the plasma mana beams. Zalroth parkoured around the mana beams and landed on the floating magic barrier directly in front of Kyubi, causing one of the hydra heads to stop firing its plasma beam. The hydra head snarled down at Zalroth with Chronia sticking her tongue out at the hydra head. The hydra head's eye furiously widened and howled before lunging at Zalroth in an attempt to head slam him.
Chronia called the hydra-head stupid before time froze when it was close to her and Zalroth. Zalroth smirked and gathered the white mana particles around his fists before pulling one of them back. Zalroth hurled his right fist and slammed it into the hydra head, causing a small fist-like impact on the hydra head's forehead; Zalroth quickly clicked his left shoulder before unleashing hundreds of relentless punches and leaving the hydra-head an indented mess.
Zalroth backflipped away from the hydra-head before Chronia ended the time stop and, in a split second, the hydra-head exploded into desaturated slime that scattered into dust. Zalroth landed on the floating magic barrier platform next to Zuno, as he gathered mana from the surrounding mana cores of the destroyed golems into his R.R.R. Ruby happened to glance over at Kyubi's headless hydra head and scratched her head.
"I thought you said Fifi's sensei said that the slime heathians were able to regenerate even if light or holy magic is used on them, I mean it did earlier when Fifi shot it," Ruby asked as she and Minia slashed a bunch of golems under their giant mana and slime hands respectively. Heather sniped a trio of golems' cores with her dawnite throwing discs before the discs teleported back into her hands.
"Perhaps, the reason the slime heathian was able to regenerate normally was that the attack that damaged it was a mix of Sophia's light arrow and its own plasma ball, which nullified the effect the light arrow would've had on it," Heather stated before she hurried over to Ruby. Ruby nodded her head and took one more glance at Kyubi before continuing to fight the golems.
Zalroth, Chronia and Zuno watched Kyubi's remaining hydra-heads peer at the head stump with one of them nudging the stump; the head then bit down on the stump before ripping it off the neck. The headless stump began to bubble up and a new hydra head bursted from the stump.
"I see... so the reason you said slime heathians were difficult to deal with since they can easily remove the purified or light-infused body parts before quickly regenerating," Zuno commented as he generate a light mana trident from the R.R.R and grabbed it. Chronia nodded her head before stating they'll need to separate the Kyubi's main body from the rest of their body. Zuno and Zalroth nodded their heads before quickly ducking to the side as Kyubi's hand raced past them and slammed it into the ground.

Zalroth landed on another magic barrier and then conjured a fire javelin covered in a veil of lighting mana and white mana particles before hurling it at Kyubi; at the same time, Zuno's R.R.R concentrated light mana into a sphere before blasting a concentrated light mana beam at Kyubi. Kyubi's body wobbled before their body opened up and the attacks from the duo raced through the gap and exploded far behind Kyubi, as the gap in their body closed.
"I would make the joke you missed but I already made a joke at Vivo's expense already," the voice of Zalina said in Zalroth's head which made Zalroth defeatedly sign, while rhetorically thanking Zalina for sparing him from her jokes. Chronia telepathically told the duo that they should do what they just did again, then she'll freeze time but Zalroth flicked her on the nose which made Chronia stop talking.
"We don't need you spamming your time stop, plus wouldn't that just put you in the same situation as I am if you're not careful," Zalroth remarked as Chronia poutily rubbed her nose.
"If you would recall as long as us god incarnates use are divine weapons we wouldn't end up like you, dumb-dumb," Chronia stated as her hourglass catalyst popped out from Zalroth's fur coat. Zalroth rubbed the back of his head and chuckled as he muttered he forgot about that before a thought entered his head.
"Oh yeah, you won't need to worry about your destruction mana causing fatigue of strain on your body if you channel it through the Hakai-no-Michi," Zalroth mentioned to Zuno, which made Zuno pause in disbelief before glancing at the Hakai-no-Michi and back at Zalroth. Zuno pointed at the Hakai-no-Michi with his light mana trident while making a confused expression that said you mean this. Zalroth and Chronia nodded their heads as Zalroth pulled his Cresent Moon Staff out from his tails.
"Ok, I got a better plan. Zalroth will redirect all of the slime heathian's attacks while we charge for them and Zuno will channel as much of his destruco mana into the Hakai-no-Michi to destroy the hydra heads, then I'll freeze time so we can get away before the heathian can counter-attack," Chronia offered. The duo pondered on Chronia's offer before agreeing to go along with it.
Kyubi's hydra heads howled and generate a barrage of purple fireballs and plasma mana bombs before firing them at the trio. Zalroth said he'll go on ahead and clear the way while Chronia asked Zalroth if they should've told Zuno how to get the Hakai-No-Michi out of its sheath. Zuno rolled his eyes at the prospect of him being unable to get a sword out of its sheath before his horns began to glow teal.
Zuno tried to use his telekinesis to unsheath the Hakai-no-Michi but the sheath wouldn't budge. Zuno blinked a few times before letting go of his light mana trident and trying to open it with his bare hands with it still refusing to leave its sheath. Zuno considered asking Callie or Heather if either of them knew how to unlock the Hakai-No-Michi while remembering all the times they told him random facts about his previous incarnations.
However, before he could telepathically call either of them he sensed that Callie was trying to telepathically contact him. Zuno answered the telepathic call and attempted to ask his question but Callie asked if she could talk first.
"I don't know why but Kara told me to quickly call you and tell you to channel your mana into the base of the handed before threading it throughout the handle in an infinity symbol before turning the sword to the right then it will come out... whatever that means," Callie said telepathically. Zuno followed Kara's instructions and heard a clicking noise from the sheath before sighing.
Zuno thanked Callie for telling him that and also to pass his thanks onto Kara, even though he knows she probably already knows he is since she knew the issue he was dealing with. Callie didn't say anything in response to Zuno's thanks and when he asked if she was still there before she embarrassedly blurted out disjointed/incoherent words followed by her ending the telepathic call.
"She probably still has a fever and wanted to hang up so she could sneeze without me hearing it," Zuno commented before quietly chuckling that a dense harem protagonist would probably say that. Zuno tightly grasped the Hakai-No-Michi's hand and sheath; He quickly pulled the katana out from the sheath and stared at the katana's golden blade as the glowing pink runes caught its attention.
"Ancient Khronyian runes... so this really is one of the divine keys then that must mean he's...," Zuno pondered before shaking his head and saying he can confirm his suspicions later. Zuno closed his eyes and began to focus his destruction mana into the Hakai-No-Michi as the runes began to shift from pink to a deep purple.
