《12am || Hyunlix》Moons

He opened the door to his room carefully. The lights were turned off in the corridor and in the living room. I knew his brother's rooms were right next to his. Therefore we needed to be extremely quiet.

"Ur legs ok?" Jeongin asked me, whispering

I nodded to avoid making any sound.

He held onto my arm lightly before taking a single step out his room. He peeked his head to check both sides before tucking my arm closer. He didn't say anything, but continued to pull my arm along with him.

He walked us over to the front door, where I had placed my shoes. It was dark, but I could still see his nervous face.

"Find them" he demanded

My eyesight wasn't the best. -Especially not in the dark. But I managed to bend down and feel my hands around. Jeongin looked over me in the meantime.

"Oh" I blurted out as I felt a pair of crocs near my left hand

"You found them?" He asked

"I think so" I responded

My feet were pretty big, and I was wearing my dark blue crocs as I always do. From what I could see, they seemed to be dark. I tried them on, and I must say, I felt like Cinderella in that moment.

"It's mine" I said happily

Jeongin let out a relieved exhale. I couldn't stop smiling. I'm so glad I kicked my crocs far behind all the other shoes. I saved us.

"Let's get you out of here" he said

I looked up at him without standing up, hopeful that he'd reach out his hand to help. Due to both my eyesight and the lightning, I didn't see much else than his silhouette standing before me.

To my surprise, he did reach his hand out to me. I was sent to cloud nine as I took it, and felt the warmth of his palm on mine.

"Thanks" I thanked him

He helped me get up with a little pull. I really didn't feel like letting go of his hand, and so I tried to hold on for as long as I could.

I pretended to be dizzy, or out of balance just to hold him a bit longer.

"Are you ok?" He whispered, still holding onto my hand

"Uhm, yeah" I responded, "I'm just feeling a bit wonky"

I used my free hand to touch my forehead to act out a little scene.

-"you think you could hold onto my hand as we walk out?" I asked, "I don't want to fall"

He changed his posture

"Yeah, of course"

I could hardly contain my happiness. He agreed to hold my hand as we walked out the door! This was revolutionary.

While holding my hand, he turned the lock to open the door. He was going very slow and careful to make the least amount of sound. I kept glancing around us to make sure nobody were coming.

He spent a long time fully opening the door. It didn't make any creaking sounds. I'd say the loudest sound around was my heartbeat. His hands were super soft. Like, surprisingly soft. And if that wasn't enough, he had a pretty hard grip on me to. His fingers were locked between mine, and if I were to fall he'd hold on tight.

"Don't make any sound" he whispered

The door wasn't fully open, but we weren't taking any chances. He walked out first, not touching the door nor the wall beside it.

I felt a cold breeze in the air. It was great being able to breath fresh air after staying in a closet half the day.

"Come" he said, slightly tucking at my hand

I slid out the door, trying my best not to make any sound. The sky was pitch black outside, but there were two warm toned lights on each side of the little staircase I tripped on earlier. Finally I could see his face.

"You good?" He asked as I stepped onto the doormat outside

I noticed how he kept asking me how I was doing. He really cared for me.

"Yeah, im good" I smiled

We were standing pretty close to each other. He smiled back slightly. I couldn't think of a time I'd ever felt like this.

"Oh, shit, uh" he mumbled as he noticed how he still held onto my hand

He let go embarrassedly.

I giggled at him. He looked so cute like this. His pajamas was the same one he used in camp. It brought back multiple memories in my mind. The times I waited for him to be done in the shower. All the nights we spent together in the same tiny room.

My eyes traveled behind him as I couldn't stare him in the eyes for too long. I was afraid of passing out or something.

Just then, I noticed the beautiful, clear, starry sky surrounding us. Bright stars sprinkled everywhere. I didn't know if Jeongin was the type of guy to find that romantic, but I definitely was.

"Wow" I said. My eyes widening as I looked around.

I stepped down the staircase to get a better view. Little did I know the most gorgeous full-moon I had ever seen had been hiding behind a tree.

"Look at the moon" I said all excited, pointing up

"You need to be quiet" he reminded me

"Oh, yeah my bad" I apologized

He walked down the steps and stood next to me. I felt my stomach swarming with butterflies.

"Cool" he said, noticing the moon.

"Look at the colour" I admired it

"Yeah, it's like, almost orange" he said

Something in me was telling me that this was the right moment. No doubt it was

"Isn't it beautiful?" I asked

"I don't know, it's alright I guess" he replied

I looked at his face again. His eyes were reflecting the sky, making it look like two little moons in his eyes. The way his hair laid on his forehead, just over his eyes looked amazing.

The amount of butterflies in me doubled by the second.
