《Azure Chronicles》Chapter 81: Terrorizing Finisher

Zalroth landed on the ground and placed his hand over his eyes before looking around and attempting to locate Terrorizer in the opaque steam clouds. Zalroth commented that even if he used his perception-enhancing magic on top of his superior vision he'd still have a hard time seeing through the steam.
Zalroth lent to the left and Terrorizer zipped past him as he tried to kick Zalroth. Zalroth looked to his right before walking forwards, right before Terrorizer zipped past him again as he failed to kick Zalroth. Zalroth slowly waddled around in a circle and put on a surprised expression when he spotted Terrorizer.
"Oh there you are, for a second there, I thought you had run away... well tried given the barrier," Zalroth remarked. Terrorizer clenched his fist and encased his body in purple flames before gathering all the energy in his fists into a single fist. Terrorizer slammed his foot into the ground and flame dashed at Zalroth. Zuno continued to stare in the vague direction of the fight while Kara and Destiny struggled to see anything while complaining about the steam.
"Say Zuzu, can you actually see anything?" Callie asked. Zuno stoically huffed before stating that he couldn't see the fight while emphasising the word see, right before all the steam was blown away by a powerful shockwave.
"Would you look at that I can see th-," Zuno snarkily remarked before Zalroth's white fur coat landed in his face, with Callie remarking how ironic Zuno's vision being blocked was.
Terrorizer staggered backwards as one of his forearms shattered and fractured before it fell to the ground. Zalroth pulled his back his outreached arm and brushed off some of the crystals stuck on his fingers. Zalroth playfully apologised for punching so hard as Terrorizer regathered his forearm back together. Terrorizer balled up his fists and covered them in purple flames before he rushed at Zalroth and hurled a barrage of punches at him.
Zalroth easily weaved around Terrorizer's punches while mentioning Chronia's taking a while to find her hourglass. Zalroth shrugged before blocking Terrorizer's final punch with one of his tails; the tail flicked Terrorizer's fist away before Zalroth blasted Terrorizer away with a concentrated wind jet blast, by punching the air.
Terrorizer's feet grinded against the ground as he was launched backwards and the instant he came to a stop Zalroth darted in front of him. Zalroth pierced his fingers into Terrorizer as he grabbed Terrorizer's chest before pulling Terrorizer towards himself. Zalroth rapidly spun around on the spot and launched Terrorizer into the air after building up enough momentum. Zalroth pulled one of his fists back and began to gather dark green wind mana, along with lightning mana, around his arm as his aura flared up.
"I think it's about time I-". Zalroth only managed to get part way through his sentence before he abruptly detransformed and all the mana around his body scattered away. Zalroth covered his mouth and violently coughed as a dark azure blue-coloured blood, with rainbow-coloured stars in it, seeped through his fingers. Zuno and the others, on the starlight screen, concernedly looked down at Zalroth, with Kara frantically telling Zuno he had to do something while she tried to talk normally.
"I will assist him once he calls for assistance," Zuno stated. Kara dumbfoundedly glared at Zuno while Destiny mentioned this situation reminds her of an episode of Candy Cats but before she could say anything she stopped herself.

"Phew... almost spoiled the finale," Destiny stated as she relievedly wiped her forehead and looked back down at the arena. Zalroth heavily exhaled and inhaled as he lowered his hand from his mouth. Zalroth spat up some leftover azure-coloured blood and wiped his mouth while slightly smirking.
"I thought I had at least five more minutes before my ae-," Zalroth remarked as he noticed a purple light above him. Zalroth looked upwards and spotted the hundreds of purple fireballs filling the air space above the arena stage. Zalroth thought that the attack probably wouldn't hurt him but it'll definitely cause more of his blood to convert.
Terrorizer extended out his arms and slammed them together before the fireball exploded to life and rocketed for Zalroth. Zalroth attempted to sprint out of the way but a sharp sensation shot through his body and caused his body to seize up.
"Oh...," Zalroth awkwardly muttered as the fireballs were inches away from him. However, before the fireballs could hit Zalroth the world became veiled in a teal filter and everything came to an instant pause. Zalroth amusedly sighed and asked Chronia what took her so long as Chronia popped her head out from Zalroth's tails while having a bloody nose.
"Nothing in particular," Chronia stated as she wiped her nose and noticed Zalroth was back in his base form. Chronia quickly climbed out of Zalroth's tails and climbed onto his back as her catalyst(a lime-coloured hourglass which has a dark green two pillars for a frame with glowing teal stripes and sand in the hourglass. On top of the hourglass frame, it has a sun engraving while on the bottom it has three crescent moon engravings) floated beside her.
"Sure there isn't," Zalroth remarked as he slowly manoeuvred around the cluster of fireballs until he made it out from the fireball minefield. Zalroth felt Chronia place her hand on his forehead and concernedly stared into his eyes. She wrapped her arms around Zalroth's head and lightly squeezed him.
"Why did you lie to me, you said you were getting better" Chronia sulked as she squeezed Zalroth's head. Zalroth asked if now was really an appropriate time to get on him about his medical issue with Chronia increasing the intensity of her hold on Zalroth's head before reluctantly letting go.
"Fine... but we will continue this conversation later, and no more sage modes," Chronia requested with Zalroth promising her he wouldn't before he jumped into the air. Zalroth soared past the time-frozen Terrorizer before landing above him on a floating magic barrier. Zalroth clenched his fist and his white sun tattoo lit up with white mana particles starting to flow out; Zalroth flexed his arm and the tattoo began to spread up his arm like tree roots before wrapping around his right eye.
"Ready when you are," Zalroth cheekily remarked as he reactivated his Lightning Amp. Chronia playfully rolled her eyes as she tapped her hourglass and the filter teal filter faded away.
Terrorizer's fireballs smashed into the arena stage and lit up the area as they exploded with a semi-blinding flash. Terrorizer raised his arms again in preparation to conjure more fireballs when he noticed Zalroth didn't immediately counterattack but froze when he saw that Zalroth wasn't on the arena stage anymore and the spot he struck had a small crater.

"Impressive, he managed to destroy the darksteel made by Zuno," Chronia and Callie commented in unison, with Zuno shaking his head in disbelief at Chronia and Callie saying something Zalroth would've said. Zalroth smirked as he activated his black sun tattoo and gathered the white and black mana particles around the magic barrier he was standing on before deactivating the black sun tattoo. Zalroth kicked flipped the magic barrier into the air and kicked it towards Terrorizer.
Terrorizer sensed the magic barrier rapidly approaching him. Terrorizer spun around and encased his right arms in purple flames; Terrorizer attempted to destroy the barrier but it easily sliced through his arms as if they were melted butter. Terrorizer slowly glanced over at his arms and watched them as they plummeted to the ground. Terrorizer reached out his arm nubs at the falling arms but the arms continued to plummet to the ground.
A teal flicker appeared around the world before Zalroth suddenly teleported above Terrorizer. Zalroth gathered the white particles gathered around his leg before he axe-kicked the Terrorizer on the forehead. Terrorizer's head cracked under the impact of the kick and was sent hurtling past his falling arms before crashing into the crater in the arena stage.
Terrorizer rushed to his feet and after a few seconds placed one of his hands on his face when he realised the cracks weren't healing. Another teal flicker accompanied Zalroth as he appeared in front of Terrorizer; Terrorizer tried to punch Zalroth but, after another teal flicker appeared across the world, he was sent flying with a large cracky dent on his torso.
Terrorizer slammed into the magic particle-covered magic barrier. The particles were smushed together and mini golden yellow mana explosions exploded on his back and caused parts of his back to turn to an azure blue coloured. Zalroth grasped his fist and raised it into the air and the magic barrier rapidly raised into the sky before abruptly stopping and flinging Terrorizer into the air. Chronia, with a slightly worried tone, asked Zalroth to hurry. Zalroth gave her a smug wink before he snapped his fingers and created a swarm of floating magic barriers.
Zalroth pulled his right arm back and began to gather dark green wind and lightning mana around his arm. Zalroth lept into the air before swiftly parkouring between the floating magic barriers with a trail of the mana from the Typhoon Hydra spell trailing behind him.
Terrorizer shook his head and spotted Zalroth rapidly approaching him. Terrorizer backflipped and landed on the magic barrier dome. Terrorizer aimed his three remaining arms and unleashed an onslaught of large dark purple fireballs along with pale purple energy beams with enough force that it kept his feet planted on the magic barrier dome. Zalroth commented Terrorizer's frantic attacks might be an issue to get around as he landed on a magic barrier and smacked a fireball away.
"Don't worry I'll deal with it," Chronia said as she cracked her knuckles. Chronia slammed her hands together and conjured dozens of large ice weapons; Zalroth nodded his head before he continued to parkour to Terrorizer whilst Chronia's ice magic weapons combatted the fireballs while Zalroth evaded the energy beams. As Zalroth and Chronia were closing in on Terrorizer the white magic particles from the second stage white sun tattoo mixed in the Typhoon Hydra spell and turned the wind mana white.
Terrorizer ceased his magic onslaught and pointed all his hands directly at Zalroth. Zalroth and Chronia sensed that Terrorizer was channelling all of his remaining mana into his hands and Chronia got an idea. The Terrorizer unleashed a massive purple concentrated fire beam that ripped through all the magic barriers between himself and Zalroth.
The fire beam raced for Zalroth but the second it was close to him Chronia's eyes flickered before time froze again. Zalroth front flipped onto the static fire beam and rushed up it before jumping over Terrorizer. Time resumed and the concentrated fire beam rocketed on its way before crashing into the arena stage and managing to slightly melt it. Terrorizer's chest moved in the rhythm of heavy breathing as his body's colour started to desaturate and began to slowly crumble.
"Under normal circumstances, I would've liked to do an ultimate attack clash but I don't have that liberty right now," Zalroth snarked as Chronia lightly bopped him on the head. Terrorizer rigidly spun around and before he could even respond Zalroth sucker punched him in the face, which caused large cracks to form all over Terrorizer's body.
The white tornado ripped itself free from Zalroth's arm and pushed Terrorizer along with it as it rapidly increased in size and fully formed into a large white Typhoon Hydra. The Typhoon Hydra rapidly descended towards the arena stage, as it along with the ground started to change to a bright purple and slightly liquidy.
The arena stage's brightness became almost blinding before kyubi's(the large slime heathian) massive plasma beam broke through the ground and collided with the Typhoon Hydra. The collision of the two attacks shredded through the remains of the arena stage while Terrorizer was being both healed by kyubi's plasma beam and rapidly destroyed by Zalroth's Typhoon Hydra.
Zalroth smirked and reached out his right arm while commenting the plasma beam was a little stronger than he expected. Zalroth clasped his right hand and the Typhoon Hydra open its mouth before it let out a thunderous howl as the intensity of its shredding wind sped up. The powered-up white Typhoon Hydra easily overpowered the plasma beam and swiftly ripped the Terrorizer into dust while leaving a large ring-shaped angorthite behind.
"Kutaro!" Zalroth shouted. Zalkutaro nodded before pointing a finger gun at the head of the Typhoon Hydra. Zalkutaro made a gun-like whistle while making a shooting motion and the Typhoon Hydra instantly dispersed, with the only thing remaining being the angorthite ring that plummeted into the exposed cavern. Zalroth gave Zalkutaro a thumbs up before he and Chronia fell into the cavern.
"Woah that was so cool!" Destiny energetically exclaimed as she and Kara had their faces pressed against the starlight screen. Zuno glanced down at the sheathed Hakai-no-Michi in his hand; Zuno slightly lifted the katana out from its sheath and commented on how he wasn't expecting to ever get his hands on a weapon made from such a rare material. Zuno gave Providence a firm bow before he climbed out of the announcer booth and leapt over the stands before falling into the cavern while also carrying Zalroth's white fur coat.

Second Wind, legend of Pandemonium (Finished/Incomplete)
The developers of the worlds leading VRMMORPG Edge Online have decided to shut down its servers after over a decade. Shugireth Darkstar, the leader of Pandemonium, Edge Online's top guild, suffers from a deadly disease and his end is near. He hasn't left his VR pod for 5 years, as the medical nanodroids at the hospital takes care of him. Without Edge, he will die, because his physical body has already been all but destroyed by the sickness. Seeing no light at the end of the tunnel, Shugireth Darkstar, the Master of Pandemonium, stubbornly stays behind as the servers shut down... If that was all, we could end this story right here. However, that was only the beginning of the legend of pandemonium. The prelude to the movement, if you will. Shall we see what happens next? -------------- Some notes from Me (The author, gasp surprise): I first wrote this (100k) as an experiment. I saw the advice about having foils for overpowered MCs, and I watched quite a few lectures on writing. I wanted to test things out for myself and see if I could carry a story through other ways than only relying on physical conflict like some thrillers do. Thus this might lean a bit towards slice of life with a romance subplot, but I don't want to give my story away so read it if u want to know more. This was basically never intended for anyone else's eyes but my own, and written to explore writing as a process. This wasn't my attempt at writing a good book, but it turned into something that I think might interest some people, so I decided to pop it up here. It is slightly old so my style and writing skills have advanced considerably since I first started this thing. Having said that, I think it's pretty readable, but I am very interested in how other people will receive this. Please feel free to criticize it and just in general shoot me some feedback on what you think. It contains light Litrpg elements, not heavy table spam, it's just the basis of the world. Although I like that sort of thing, this was written before I even knew of Royalroad and hadn't considered litrpg much. Some of you may recognize that it was slightly inspired by Overlord. Also, the Tags for sexual content and traumatizing content are there as a precaution on all of my stories pretty much, even if my story does not contain any of that at the moment. I can't really know what the future will bring, but in the case of this story I do know a little bit, since I wrote 100k words before posting it here. And I just posted it on a whim because I figured some readers on Royalroad might enjoy this story.
