@authoraubs sorry for the long wait, hope you like it!
Karl huffed as he sat on the couch, sighing and leaning back his head. He was tired since he didn't wake up in the best mood and the best start to his morning ever, throwing up nothing in his stomach. Feeling a hand slither into his hair, he opened his eyes and saw Chris leaning over him with one hand holding a bowl and spoon and the other in his hair. Karl smiled, which Chris returned.
"Hi. What'd make?" Chris hummed and took his hand out his hair, going over to the front of the couch and sitting down next to it. He handed the bowl to Karl and let him look. It was a bowl that looked like dry wood chips mixed with sliced strawberries and bananas on one side.
"Oatmeal. I know you don't like it but I've heard that the baby doesn't like the foods you normally like so I thought why not make the food you don't really like." Karl nodded and dipped his spoon into the thick substance and put it in his mouth, sighing and humming with pleasure. He never liked it growing up but since he got pregnant, his tastebuds had changed and he started to hate his favorite foods.
"I've actually been craving this for a while, thank you." Chris nodded and grabbed the blanket that rested on the back of the couch. He placed it over their legs and wrapped an arm around his boyfriend's shoulders.
"How's the baby?" Karl hummed and used his other hand that didn't hold the bowl of oatmeal and left up his shirt exposing the tiny little bump which held their baby. Chris looked at it in awe and gently placed his hand on his stomach, barely even making contact as he was terrified to crush the unborn child. He heard a giggle and looked up at Karl, who had placed the bowl on the side so he could cover his mouth.
"You're so sweet. They're doing fine, just giving me trouble early this morning." Chris nodded and looked down at the bump Karl had. He couldn't wait to be a father to this little human. He couldn't wait to hold them, love them, care for them, protect them, and have fun with them.
___________
Twenty weeks into the pregnancy and Karl could say he was loving it. He felt the baby move around a lot to the point of annoyance but they were just telling him that they were up and had a lot of energy. His boyfriend had been really sweet to him ever since they found out that Karl was pregnant and constantly asked him how him and the baby was doing which drove him to the same point as the baby did but he knew why he was doing it.
Karl was washing a pot that they used for making dinner when he felt arms wrap around his waist and a face nuzzle into his neck. He placed the dish down and reached his soapy hand up to give pet scratches to the head that was nuzzled in his neck.
"Hi." He heard Chris hum and take his head out his neck, looking down at all the dishes Karl had left to wash and rinse. He felt bad that he was making Karl do the dishes, wanting to help.
"Let me do it, babe." Karl looked at him as he grabbed the sponge out of his hand and started to wash the dishes. He heard him scoff and try to reach over to grab the sponge, but he playfully slapped his hand away.

"Chris, I had it." Chris sighed and started to rinse the dishes that were already washed once he finished washing the last dishes.
"I know but you did enough work today. Why don't you go sit on the couch and pick out a movie for us to watch?" Karl sighed and grabbed a freshly rinsed dish out of the sink and a towel that rested on the counter, starting to wipe it down to dry it off. Chris watched him out of the corner of his eyes.
"Stubborn, hmm?" He asked, eyeing him. Karl nodded and looked at him. That was his boyfriend, he thought. Always stubborn, even if it risked his health and well-being.
"Don't be mad if your child is as stubborn as me. It's one of the strongest genes I can produce." Karl joked with him, putting the dishes away as he dried them. Chris smiled and shook his head, laughing quietly. He hoped they wouldn't; it was already tiring to take care of one stubborn baby he couldn't imagine taking care of two stubborn babies.
"I won't be surprised if they are the mini version of you. From all the ultrasounds we have been going to since we could see their face, they have basically the same side profile as you." Chris told him, laughing quietly to himself. It was true, every time they went Chris commented on the baby's side profile saying it was just like Karl's. Karl smiled as he put away a cup, turning back to Chris. He handed him the last dish and Karl grabbed it, drying it off and putting it away. Chris leaned back against the counter, gesturing to Karl to throw him the towel. He did and went up to him, letting Chris wrap his hands around his waist after he finished drying his hands.
"Want to watch a movie?" Karl's face lit up and he nodded, putting his hand into Chris's, and dragging him over to the couch. He sat down on the couch where the two ends of the L-shaped couch met and stretched out his legs. Chris burst out laughing as he sat down next to Karl, wrapping his arm around Karl's shoulders. It was always a challenge between the two of them who would get to sit on that spot. They would fight ruthlessly for it, sometimes lifting the other one off and placing them on the floor to get the spot. Chris didn't know if Karl had been noticing, but ever since he became pregnant, he let him have the spot. He would just laugh it off, telling him he would get it next time but he would never fulfill his statement.
He brought him close to him, placing his other hand on the bump he was supporting. He felt flutters against his hand, smiling widely. He handed Karl the remote to let him pick out the movie. He put one on and Chris cringed inside; it was a movie he hated, telling everyone who would listen how much he hated it. When he found out it was Karl's favorite, he became silent on hating that movie. He still hated that movie but it made Karl happy, so he just had to suck it up and watch it.
Halfway through the movie, he felt the weight on his side grow heavier as the flutters stopped. He looked over and saw Karl fast asleep on him, snoring quietly. Chris smiled and grabbed the blanket behind them and placed it on some of Karl's body. He shut off the TV and looked down at his lover. No matter how much Karl was saying he was loving the pregnancy, he was still complaining about some things. For instance, morning sickness had him cursing each time he woke up in the morning, sleepless nights when nothing could calm the baby down enough to let Karl sleep resulting in long nights until the baby settled that they would sleep. Chris tried to make things easier for him, but he always felt like he wasn't doing enough.

Chris yawned before closing his eyes, staying up all night the previous night and making him tired. He fell into a peaceful, only to be woken by Karl again. He didn't mind though, letting Karl wake him. They went through the rest of their day together until night fell. The baby had settled long before, making the night look promising. They fell asleep in each other's arms without interruption throughout the night.
_________
"Karl, how much caffeine are you supposed to have?" Chris asked as he saw Karl pour himself another cup. Karl turned around and grumbled, sitting back on the stool by the counter. He grabbed the bottle of creamer and put it in his cup of coffee.
"Only 12 ounces." Karl mumbled, putting his hand around the handle. Chris sighed and went over, taking the cup gently out of his hand. Karl whined as Chris took it away, making grabby hands towards it. Chris shook his head, resulting in Karl dropping his head as he groaned. He was tired and just wanted his energy back. They weren't joking when they said the third trimester was the hardest.
"Can I please have a monster energy drink? Pretty please?" He lashed out his puppy eyes, trying to make Chris cave in. He always got his way when he did it, why should it not work now? He saw Chris sigh and place the cup on the counter far away from Karl's reach.
"Sorry, Karl but it's not going for the baby. I know you want to get some energy but it will harm the baby. We want them here healthy, right?" Karl whined again but nodded, rubbing his eyes. He looked out the window, seeing the sun trying to peek its way out of the clouds. It was a gloomy day, matching Karl's mood. He just want to sleep, that was all he wanted. Getting up, he started to waddle out of Chris's view. Chris followed him to make sure he wasn't going to grab a monster from his hidden spot. He saw Karl waddle down the hallway and into their room, signaling Chris to follow him. He rushed up the hallway and peeked into the ajar door. He was getting into the nest he built on their bed, painfully whining as all his muscles were sore. Chris went into the room after Karl laid himself into the nest. He slowly went over to Karl and saw how cozy he was. Karl turned his head and saw Chris, making grabby hands towards him. He smiled and got in the bed with him, wrapping his arms around his waist as he pressed his chest against his back.
"'m so tired." Karl complained, seeking in the warmth of Chris. Chris placed his hands on the ever-growing bump, feeling the baby stir before settling down. Karl kept on nodding off before waking himself up again, whining more. Chris felt bad but this was the only way he could fall asleep, nodding off a few times before settling down to rest. Chris held Karl tightly to help the process and eventually, he fell asleep. This allowed Chris to observe Karl as he lifted his head. He placed his hand in the mussed hair that was caused by sleep. His face was pale as a result of the lack of going outside due to it being cold and staying in bed all day. But he had a glow to his skin that was soft to the touch, he couldn't resist not put his hands on him. His hair became thicker, making him want to run his hands through it all the time.
He nuzzled his head into the crook of Karl's neck, breathing in his scent. It was a faint funky smell that lingered on his body since he got pregnant, due to the amount of sweat produced during the pregnancy. It was not Karl's usual smell but someone things were sacrificed with the changes to his body for the baby. He breathed it in again before planting a kiss on his neck, loosening his grip slightly. He laid his head onto the pillow and fell asleep, with one hand in Karl's hair and the other resting on the front of the bump.
_________
"How's the baby?" Chris asked as soon as he shut the door to the bedroom. He saw Karl place his phone on the bed and stick out his hands. Karl was in the middle of the bed surrounded by a ring of Chris's shirts and blankets that was his resting ground for when he didn't want to get out of bed. It only had a small spot behind Karl's back when he lay on his side that allowed Chris to lie behind him.
"They are making things hell for me. They won't stop kicking." Karl whined, pushing at the bump. Just shy of the baby's due date, things became more stressful on both of their ends. Chris had just come back from a weekend trip to help out Jimmy with the channel but the whole time, he was worrying that Karl had gone into labor with their child. He would call him every chance he had, making sure he wasn't in the hospital battling his contractions alone. He begged Jimmy to not go out of town the next few weeks so Chris could still work while they patiently waited to have the baby. Jimmy had tried to get Chris to take off to spend time inducing Karl into labor, but Chris kept on shutting him off, telling him he needed to take his mind off the wait.
"Let's see if we can calm them down." Chris commented as he crawled into bed behind Karl. He hugged him and placed his hands on the bump, being careful of the red irritated stretch marks. He massaged his bump gently, feeling the harsh kicks, that once were flutters, kick the already outstretched skin. He could tell the baby had one of Karl's traits that they joked about earlier in the pregnancy they would have: his stubbornness. No matter how many times they both tried to sing to the baby, talk to it, playfully stern them, they wouldn't listen. The unborn baby would carry on kicking without a problem, causing Karl to cry due to the amount of pain the baby was putting him in.
"They aren't calming down." Karl whined as his voice trembled. Chris kept on trying to calm them down, moving the front of Karl to face his bump. He lifted up his shirt, exposing the bump. He kissed it gently, right in between the stretch marks. Karl gasped and Chris looked up panicky; did he cause him more pain?
"Keep doing that." Chris nodded and kept kissing that area, going in all directions. Karl sighed with relief once the baby stopped kicking, feeling Chris still kiss his bump. He reached down and curled his hand into Chris's hair, bringing his face away. He looked up and saw the look of relief on his face.
"They're asleep now." Chris smiled and shimmied up the bed, being careful to not mess up Karl's placement of shirts and blankets behind him. He leaned forward and kissed him, smiling widely. When they separated, Chris placed his hand on the side of Karl's face and rubbed his chubby cheeks.
"How are you?" Chris asked, feeling the tips of Karl's fingers on his forehead as he moved his hair out of his eyes. Karl sighed, taking back his hand to rest it on the hand that was on his cheek. He slowly moved his thumb across the back of the hand, staring into Chris's eyes.
"Tired and in pain. I just want them here already." Karl admitted, slowly blinking as a wave of tiredness crashed on him. Chris nodded, going back over to his spot. He hugged Karl from behind, a strong grip around his waist and pulling him in. He kissed the top of his head before feeling Karl fall asleep in his arms. He smiled before closing his eyes to fall asleep too.
