"Capricorn, you're not gonna like this," Libra mumbled, turning her phone toward me.

Somehow, the forces of nature had ensured that Libra and I would be spending time together on a Saturday night, with everyone else entangled in some mess regarding 'Will', or getting some rest after what had been a hectic week. Libra and I sat cross-legged on a wharf at the docks, watching the sun set as we found ourselves to be the only two people who had the chance to take a breath and enjoy the weekend.

If I had been told a mere 3 months back that I would be sitting opposite the girl I had come to detest throughout our high school years looking at some social media post on her cellphone, I would have likely guffawed and returned to my work. But now, I looked on, shocked, as Libra showed me Leo's latest post.

"4 months!" the post was captioned, a seemingly wholesome photo of the quarterback with an arm around Virgo, him in a tuxedo, her in a breathtaking red dress.

Red.

"But.. she hates red," I mumbled, looking away, when Libra furrowed her brows, hitting my right arm with all the strength of a former black belt and an angered friend.

"Capricorn, we can't do this again!" Libra exclaimed. "You need to get your mind off Virgo. It's been four months - the post says it all. I know this is messed up, but Virgo's with Leo. And you need to accept that and move on."

"But she's not happy, Libra. I know she's not happy. She can't be happy with him-"

"That's for her to know, not you. You just need to leave it alone now."

I sighed, nodding and standing up. "Yeah, you're right. I do need to let it go."

I offered Libra my hand, pulling her up. "It's getting late," I remarked. "I'll drop you off at your place. Let me know how Scorpio is, yeah?"

Libra nodded and we drove away, thoughts and ideas and feelings rushing through my head faster than the limit on the highway we drove across.

...

As I walked into school the next morning, my feet seemed to drag through the halls, Virgo in that red dress imposing on my thoughts flickering through my brain, and, in hindsight, pestering me more than my all-too-loud heartbeat did whenever I passed her in the corridors. I rounded a corner, head down, when a loud bang seemed to reboot my nerves, causing me to look up.

Horror struck me as I took in the scene unfolding before my eyes - Virgo, sobbing uncontrollably, books covering the ground, blood trailing down her chin from her right nostrils, tears running down her face. It was reflexive - I kneeled beside her, running a hand over her hair, reached for tissues and wiped at her nose, placed a hand on the small of her back, thinking, hoping, it would comfort her-

"What happened?" I asked, my voice oddly soft and unfamiliar.

"It's- it's Leo."

All softness was forgotten.

"Did he do this to you? Is he the reason you're here? Crying? In a high school corridor? Him? Really?"

A pause.

"Virgo, did he hurt you."

"It's not that!" she yelled, almost screamed. "He's gone. He.."

"Are you sure he's not just... out on the town or something?"

"Capricorn, he crashed his car."

Realisation dawned upon me.

"He was out for a drive - he asked if I wanted to come, but I was tired. We had location shared, and the last signal from his phone was here.."

Hands trembling, Virgo reached for her phone, holding it out for me to see.

"420 Seapoint Road," I mumbled, brows furrowed. "It sounds.."

"Familiar?"

"Yes, exactly. Where do I know it from?"

Virgo dropped her phone suddenly and I felt her breathing pattern stir, losing its consistency. She drew in large fistfuls, almost of air, her chest rising and falling and shock seized her body. Hurriedly, I reached for a paper bag.

"Breathe," I instructed, aiming to keep my voice level as I spoke. "Just breathe, Virgo. It'll all be okay."

"No, it won't," she responded, her voice muffled by the bag. "There's a reason you recognised the location."

I took another look at Virgo's phone. "It says here he was last there at 4:20am - are you sure it's not just a slow app?"

"Listen to me," she exclaimed.

"The reason you recognised the location..

"Is because it's where Cancer disappeared, exactly one year ago."
