《Resurrect Nobody》Ch 21: An Arm for an Arm

Colt walked over to Hisa, resting his hand on her shoulder. "I'll explain everything later. Who is this guy?"
Hisa grinned ear to ear, "Some dude that ambushed me and Jax."
Touya stood up and cracked his neck, "Another one? How troublesome."
This is bad...I got lucky with that critical burst from behind, but I can tell that he's powerful!
Can we beat this guy in a fight?
No, ignore that thought...
"A-Are you Hokkaido?"
Touya stumbled backwards, "Boss? How do you know about him? You must be with that Poor Man's Land trash!"
"I don't have a single clue what you're talking about, but I can see that you're Hokkaido's lapdog!" He cracked his knuckles and took an offensive stance, "I'm going to kick your ass!"
"Violence it is...what a shame." Touya wrapped his right hand in core infused chain and charged towards Touya. "Die."
Here it comes! Can I stop that?
A blood curdling scream hailed out from Colt as he stepped forward, pouring his all into an explosive punch.
Their attacks collided, sending a destructive shock through the entire forest. The ground beneath them crumbled as the turbulent winds blew Hisa away from the center of impact.
It feels like I'm trying to stop a meteor!
A red hue was cast over his vision as blood shot out from the newly forming wounds on his arm. Soon, his knees began to buckle, with his ankles threatening to shatter from the overbearing weight of his opponent.
And what is this core energy? It's all rapidly circling through his fist!
The bones in his hand started to crumble, bringing tears to his eyes.
Fuck! I'm losing!
Don't panic! I can still win! I can heal these injuries, and I can knock him away with a critical burst!

This struggle came to an abrupt end as another blinding wave of core energy burst from both of their arms, sending blood and bone rippling through the air.
My arm-exploded?
Colt tumbled backwards and crashed into Hisa. The crippling pain surging through him brought a fierce wave of nausea, ridding him of the ability to maintain any hints of composure. Thinking back on those idiotic memes referring to what would happen when you'd lose a limb, the answer presented itself in quite the horrific way.
"Colt! Are you okay?" Hisa held him, gazing in an odd mixture of awe and horror.
"H-How bad is it?" he asked between pants.
"You probably shouldn't look at it."
Damn...
"Colt!"
"Colt!"
The two large guards from Lamia's village lifted Touya into the air and slammed him straight through the ground, keeping him at bay.
Colt groaned as he began to regenerate his lost arm, "Why are you guys here?"
The large men stood in front of Colt and saluted him, "Lady Lamia sent us to support you. She was worried when you suddenly took off."
With his arm back, he nodded and threw off his shirt. "In that case, I'll accept your support! This guy is one of Hokkaido's bitches! Let's take him out!"
"Yes Sir!" shouted the men in unison.
"Can I help too?" asked Hisa playful glee of a child begging to help their parent cook in the kitchen.
"Hell yeah!"
"Colt?" Jax froze as he caught a glimpse of the chaotic scene, "I'll ask later."
Touya stood up and gazed at everyone. "I see...Facing an entire group of you would be foolish on my end-" He fell to his knees as he reeled from the pain of his lost arm, "A tactical retreat is in order."

"Don't let him run-"
Gunshots flared through the entire forest, forcing everyone to run away.
"Damn it! Why are we running?" Hisa grit her teeth as Jax pulled her by her arm.
"We're not dying here you moron!"
Colt cleared his way through the almost never ending path of bushes, "Come on guys! We're going to the village for now!"

The War Wolves
If you’re good at something, never do it for free. That’s what Ludgar’s uncle taught him. Sellswording isn’t the most glamorous life, but it pays well if you’re good at it. Interesting as well, if you ignore the very probable possibility of a swift, sticky end at the hands of pointy things. When the mercenary lifestyle grows incompatible with the Kingdom of Evandis, he and his merry band of misfits set off west to seek those with a better proclivity for warfare and with much deeper pockets. At his side: a wandering barbarian who teeters on the edge of savagery, a girl who would have a heart of gold if she didn’t pawn it off to the nearest fence, a wannabe knight who is absolutely overcompensating for something, and the last person in the universe who should be anywhere close to magic. But, as most mercenaries find, the right decisions are quite an expensive luxury, and the wrong ones happen to pay very well. Then again, what are the value of morals to a hungry wolf?
