《Silent Poetry》It's Crazy
Advertisement
A long handwritten note in my pocket.
Did I say long?
It's beautifully long and painfully blissful.
These words are short, like gasps and sighs
Yet how bigger they mean.
Much like how you look in front of a concave mirror.
Did I say you?
Because it's been you all along and still is.
It's always been you, darling—
I can't believe it ended like this.
Did I say it ended?
It's crazy to question myself,
It's crazy to cry upon blunt people,
It's crazy to sob in front of others—
Isn't the world itself crazy?
No matter what, we're always a little late
and a little insane—oh, blissfully insane.
I'd rather scream out loud in my bathroom,
not in front of you.
Because I couldn't stop thinking about you.
Yet I couldn't let you know it.
You have burnt the flowers,
I'm smearing in their ashes—
It's hell crazy, isn't it?
Girl, I had a shallow hope
with a low wave there.
We had this black and dark shadow there;
We named it 'love' until it shattered
into a million scars and burns.
How beautiful yet sad!
But it's crazy I still think of you,
cry upon my albums of love.
I'd rather laugh at our little sunflower garden
than scream out loud.
I'd rather listen to love songs (I have high hopes, yeah)
than swell my eyes for you.
I have these dreams called 'lies,'
and these lilies called 'love.'
And dreams are always dreamed in the sunlight.
So I'd rather forget them
and smell the lilies—fresh.
We'll both wake up lonely from our beds
and start our days afresh.
You at the park, me at the cafe.
I'd sip my warm tea, listen to music—
but not you again.
But they say 'again' means 'never ever—'
So even if I forget it, I don't care.
Hang on—did I say I don't care?
Because everything till now was what I cared about.
They don't give you a damn about this;
they know how to break and burn things.
So I know I'd stop this now.
I knew it was crazy to care
but sometimes,
you need this thing called 'nothing,'
and walk away, flipping back your hair.

The Legion of Nothing
Nick Klein is your average high school geek--if you can still count as average when your grandfather is a retired superhero, and you've been trained in the martial arts by his friend, a mysterious, immortal mercenary. After his grandfather dies, Nick inherits the last version of the Rocket suit, powered armor that allows him to shrug off bullets, smash through walls, and manipulate sound. Along with it comes the base of his grandfather's superhero team including the team's jet and trophies from forty years of fighting criminals and aliens. Together, Nick and his friends, descendants of his grandfather's teammates, attempt to bring back a superhero team that was originally formed during World War 2. Along the way they'll face the normal problems of high school (bullies, homework, and dating), and the less normal problems like supervillians and mysteries leftover from their grandparents' past. As a story, it uses the conventions of all eras of comics from the 1940s on, ranging from serious to silly. If you're hoping for a grim and gritty story, this isn't it. The Legion of Nothing first debuted on my website legionofnothing.com in 2007. In that period it's updated more than 900 times, is still running, and has had millions of pageviews. The first two years have been released as an ebook, receiving good reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. I hope you'll enjoy it, and that you'll review it and comment. You can also vote for it on Top Web Fiction and rate it on Web Fiction Guide. Member of The Order of Phantasmal Architects.

8 147Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
