RAIDEN ||

After King Kano told the prisoners the punishments they would be looking forward to or dreading for a better word, he asked if we could leave the dungeon room and go back to the conference room. I could tell he was eager to get back to his mate, Weheil.

Their pairing was as odd as mine and Dylan's, but the Gods and Goddesses clearly had a plan that none of us were aware of and I have to admit that they're pretty cute together. The soft features and slender frame of the beautiful elf matched perfectly with the strong features and muscular frame of the werewolf King.

The walk back had gone without issues, until now, with the office building in view and Eva deciding to give Kano a piece of her mind.

"I just want to let you know, I'm not afraid of you wolf King." Eva says with a roll of her eyes.

"I wouldn't want you to be, I don't rule my kingdom by fear but by respect." Kano laughs.

"Yeah, well you better treat Weheil right or I won't hesitate in making you eat your own testicles."

"I promise to always love and cherish my little beauty for as long as I live." He laughs again.

"Do you plan on taking Weheil with you?" Alaric asks, sadness taken over his once stone cold appearance.

I knew Alaric was upset because he was the one to rescue Quiweeme and Weheil from the auction facility, going against his own kind and helping them. I remember Liam telling us that he found them altogether by the silver river, so his question didn't surprise me, but it did make me feel really sad for him.

Alaric was losing one of his friends or it seemed that way, until Kano frowned and shook his head.

"No, not at the moment." He bit his bottom lip. "Because of the current laws, I wouldn't be able to bring a male to the kingdom as my Queen, unfortunately I will have to be apart from my little love until we can get the laws changed."

"Uhhh, do you not understand the things that elves can do?" Eva laughs before raising her eyebrow. Kano looks at her once again and shakes his head.

"No, I haven't come across many magical creatures, so I'm not aware of the things he may be able to do."

"Weheil and his brother Quiweeme are very powerful elves." Liam says. "They have abilities that include summoning, telekinesis and mind manipulation."

Kano frowns again. "And what do those abilities consist of?"

"Well the way they explained it to me was summoning means they can bring someone to an area that they are located as long as they have a memory with that being, telekinesis means they can move things with their minds and mind manipulation means they can enter someone else's mind and control them." I explain with a smile and Kano slowly nods.

"So Weheil would be able to move things with his mind whenever he wanted?" Kano asks, we nod.

"And he can bring someone to him just by thinking about them?"

"Yes." Liam answers.

"And he can control others minds?" Kano asks again.

"Exactly." Liam answers once again.

"Goddess..." Kano breaths out. "On one hand, I guess I won't be apart from my mate for very long because he can bring me to him whenever we both want, but on the other hand, he's powerful and that's a little terrifying." Kano laughs.

Yeah it is terrifying. Im not even going to tell Kano about my weeks of magical hell. Hopefully he never pisses his mate off or Weheil doesn't just want to mess with him because he's in for a world of magical nightmares.

"Do you think with his manipulation ability that he would be able to get the laws changed?" Eva asks with wide eyes.

"I'm not sure, but that would be something to look into." Kano nods more to himself than anyone else.

"If he was able to control the minds of the other council members and get their signatures, that would be mean you could have Weheil as your Queen very soon." Liam smiles.

"And the laws against same sex bonds would disappear." Bennett tells him.

"It seems that way." Kano whispers, an even bigger smile taking over.

Walking back into the office building, I was happy to see the mated couples back to their usual loving nature, well all except Zahara and Preston, but it seemed like they were getting somewhere in their bond. My sister was actually allowing Preston's arm to lay across the back of her chair right now, so I guess that's a start and they did share that annoying ass high five after everyone made fun of hearing my sexual escapade with Dylan.

"Thank you for coming everyone, you may all disperse and continue with your evening. King Kano has graciously offered his help in transporting the prisoners, so I will call another meeting once the kingdom guards arrive." Liam announces before motioning for Emilio to follow him.

Everyone quickly leaves the office building after that and I was excited to spend some time with pups alone, until he asked if Rhogon, Kano and Weheil could join us in our wing of the packhouse.

I was annoyed with the idea, but he's heavily pregnant and extremely hormonal, so voicing my negative opinions right now would not be good for anyone. Ultimately I agreed with his suggestion, unaware of what this man had up his sleeve, so I gently pulled him aside on our walk to the car.

"Pups, why did you want Rhogon, Kano and Weheil to come with us?" I whisper.

"Because I have a plan." He whispers back.

"What plan?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Weheil thinks I should tell Kano about the possibility of our pups being hybrids. He said Kano and Rhogon both know the laws about hybrids and maybe if Kano knows about our pups and sees our friendship with Weheil, he won't demand for our pups to be taken away if they are hybrids."

Damn..

I didn't even think about that. Could Weheil convince his mate to leave our cubs alone? Maybe this could work in our favor because Weheil is so protective over Dylan and Kano being his mate, would have to take his opinions into consideration, no matter what the laws say right?

"Pups, that's actually a good idea... who suggested that?"

"Weheil." He answers with a smile.

I remain quiet as everyone piles into our car, my mind was racing with the questions and answers that would come up during this discussion with Kano.

I mean he's the werewolf King, so he would have a say so on what happens to our cubs, even if they are hybrids. Or maybe he would keep our secret and allow us to raise our cubs in peace, either way this discussion could be a great thing.

"Onyx, what do you think about this?"

"I think Kano is trustworthy. He doesn't seem like the type of man to give someone his word and then go back on it."

"Do you think he would actually let us raise our cubs even if they are hybrids?"

"I'm not sure about that Raiden, but it doesn't hurt to ask... he's willing to break one law already, he may be willing to break another one and it doesn't matter if he's willing or not, nobody will touch our cubs and if it comes down to fighting for them, you know we will."

"That's true, but what about this council? Do you think he would tell them?"

"No I don't, but if he has any fears about this, we have Weheil on our side to persuade him."

"Do you really think Kano would listen to his mate?"

"Yes I do, he may look tough, but he seems like a big squishy on the inside. Plus Weheil could always manipulate him into agreeing with us."

"Raiden." Dylan's voice pulls me out of my conversation with Onyx and I turn to look at him.

"Yes pups?"

"We're here." He chuckles.

I tear my gaze from his and immediately notice that we are definitely parked inside of our garage, with my door open and one of my legs hanging out.

I didn't even recognize when we got here or stopped or when I opened my door, but everything must have happened when I was talking to Onyx.

Shaking my head, I step out the car, closing my door and walking around to help Dylan out.

Rhogon, Kano and Weheil get out of the backseat and we make our way inside the house.

Locking the door behind us, I lead the way into the livingroom and everyone takes a seat.

"So, you asked us to join you, what can we do for you Dylan?" Kano asks, gently pulling Weheil onto his lap. The elf never once fought his mate's action, but he did blush.. a lot.

"I would love to help anyway I can as well, but I can only stay for a few minutes... I have to get back to my mates, I'm sure what I've left them in charge of has caused some serious stress." Rhogon chuckles.

"What did you leave them in charge of Rhogon?" Kano asks.

"Some new pack members and trust me when I say, they are a handful." Rhogon tells him.

"If you need any help, let me know." Kano says, Rhogon nods.

"Will do."

Kano smiles at his friend then looks back at Dylan. "So what can we do for you?"

"Well, this was actually Weheil's idea, he wanted to talk to you about my pups." Dylan says, causing Kano to look at his mate, who was snuggled close on his lap.

"What did you want to talk about little one?"

The elf's eyes glow brightly before he shakes his head and takes a deep breath.

"Dylan's young, they may be in trouble once they're born and I wanted to know how you felt about being able to keep a secret." Weheil tells him.

"A secret about what?" Kano asks.

"My pups may be hybrids." Dylan whispers, covering his belly. Instinctively, I wrap my arms around him and place my hands over his.

Kano's eyes widen at our sudden information.

"Your pups may be hybrids?" He asks.

"Yes."

"I know you're a wolf, but what are you?" Kano says to Dylan then directs his question towards me.

"I'm a feline shifter, black leopard."

He eyes widen once again as he nods his head.

"So your pups could be hybrid shifters? And everyone here in the shadow pack knows about this?"

"Yes my love." Weheil says, bringing his mate's attention to him once again. "I wanted to talk to you about this because we magical creatures know the laws surrounding hybrids, the wolves here were not aware, we explained everything to them and what would happen once their young were born, but Dylan and Raiden are apart of my family here and I don't want their young to be taken away or killed just because they might be dangerous."

"Extremely dangerous." Kano growls.

"Ok, fine... extremely dangerous, but they are also children Kano and they didn't ask to be born the way that the Gods and Goddesses intended." Weheil tells him, but Kano shakes his head.

"Darling, I've encountered my deal of shifter hybrids, being the King, it's my job to know what happens throughout my kingdom and I can tell you that shifter hybrids are dangerous... the laws surrounding them are absolute, non negotiable for good reason."

"But the Gods and Goddesses knew about the possibility of hybrids when they bonded two species, there has to be a way to control their savagery." I tell him.

Rhogon frowns at my explanation, then looks back at Kano, staying completely silent.

"All we are asking for is a chance to allow the young ones to grow and if possible, getting your help in finding the link to taming a hybrids ways." Weheil explains, running his hands through Kano's hair.

The large wolf growls quietly, almost as if he knew what his mate was trying to do to him. Kano stays quiet for what seemed like forever, his eyes never leaving Weheil's.

I knew the elf wasn't controlling him because his eyes weren't glowing, but I was almost positive that he was affecting Kano in a good way because eventually the larger man gave in.

"If it's important to you sweetheart, than it's important to me... I won't harm any hybrids that share a connection with someone close to you."

I let out the biggest sigh of relief at the same time Dylan does, however Rhogon's frown deepens as he looks at his friend next to him.

"And the council? Will they know about this?" Weheil asks.

"I won't breathe a word of this to anyone else, much less tell a member on the council." Kano promises.

"What about me?" Rhogon rushes his question and Kano looks at him once again.

"Have you come into contact with a hybrid of connection to yourself?" Kano frowns.

"No." Rhogon tells him, but I don't miss the moment when he swallowed nervously.

"Well why would you ask me that?"

"I was just wondering if you would ever harm a hybrid that holds a connection to me.. if I ever come into contact with one and they are important to me or something, would you harm them?" Rhogon asks again. "Like Weheil said, the Gods and Goddesses knew hybrids were a possibility when they paired two species, if I ever found another mate and they weren't a wolf, a hybrid pup might come out of that."

"Rhogon, you know you can't submit a hybrid pup to the council in form of your heir and they are already breathing down your neck about you taking a female Luna and producing an heir." Kano explains.

"I know, but there are no laws that says my Luna has to be a purebred wolf." Rhogon says.

"You know I don't believe in it, but the Luna law states you must claim a shewolf as your Luna." Kano argues.

"Yes, but it doesn't say anything about the shewolf being pure, so if my Luna was say a hybrid of vamp and something else and we have heirs, they could be hybrids." Rhogon argues back.

"I guess that is true." Kano nods.

"So if my Luna were to produce an heir and my pup were a hybrid of sorts or my Luna was a hybrid, but not the shifter kind, would you kill them?" Rhogon asks.

"No, I wouldn't harm them if they were important to you, but if your Luna is a hybrid of some kind or your heir developed into a Hybrid, I would advise you to keep them locked away for your own safety once they lose their humanity."

"But as long as they still have their humanity, everything is ok and you won't report them or kill them?" Rhogon asks again, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"No my friend, I would not kill them or report them if they have not lost their humanity and if you can show me a secure way to keep the packs safe if you do pick a hybrid for your Luna or produce hybrid heirs, then I won't harm them and I can fight on your behalf with the council."

Rhogon seems satisfied with Kano's answers as he nods and smiles then looks around the room.

"I'm so sorry for my sudden leave, but I really have to go now, my mates are probably losing their shit as we speak."

"Yes please go, I'm sure Hendrix and Jett in particular have already found a way to trash your entire packhouse." Kano laughs "You can leave me here, I'll catch a ride back with the kingdom guards when they arrive."

"Sounds good, thank you for your hospitality." Rhogon nods to myself and Dylan before leaving the room.

I turn my attention back to Kano as I felt Dylan's exhaustion flood our bond.

"I'm thankful that you were so willing to speak to us about this Kano."

"My pleasure." He nods before looking at Weheil again. "Apparently my little beauty has a powerful, persuasive affect on me already."

"I'm glad." Weheil blushes as Kano kisses the tip of his nose.

Noticing Dylan was now asleep next to me on the couch, I let Kano and Weheil know that they were more than welcome to stay in our house and there was a spare bedroom upstairs.

They follow me as I pick Dylan up bridal style and carry him to our bedroom. Watching Kano and Weheil go into the spare room, I walk down the hall and step into our bedroom, closing the door behind me with my foot then setting Dylan down on the bed.

I mentally throw myself down a flight of stairs when all of foolishness wakes him up.

"Babe, can you hold me?" He groans sleepily.

"Of course pups, just let me take a shower."

"No, please just hold me until I fall back asleep and then you can take your shower."

Silently growling to myself, I climb into bed and cuddle my baby until his heart was content.

"Raiden?" He whispers while burying his face under my chin.

"Yes puppy."

"I was talking to Gabe and Avery earlier when you were down in the cells and they were going on a double date with Roman and Hunter."

"Oh that's nice pups." I whisper back, holding him tighter.

"Yeah it is, but.... we've been together for almost 8 months now and you've never taken me on a date."

Cracking my eyes open and staring at the wall, I frown at the realization of Dylan being completely right. I hadn't actually taken him out on a date, we actually haven't been anywhere together, by ourselves to just enjoy one another and his pregnancy is almost over.

The only thing we've done together is watch movies at home or take a bath together, but we've never actually been anywhere on a date and that made me sad.

Pulling back just enough, I look into his eyes, which were misty. I gently place a kiss on his forehead before trailing my kisses down his nose, then to his cheeks and finally capturing those beautiful, soft lips of his.

Breaking our kiss after savoring all that was my mate, I smile softly at him.

"You're right puppy, we haven't been on an actual date." I whisper before kissing his nose again. "Would you do me the extraordinary honor of going on a date with me?"

"Yes." He breathes out. "But only after the prisoners are gone, I don't want them on my mind when we're trying to have a good time."

"I agree puppy, so we're going a date once they leave?" I ask with a big dorky smile.

"Yes, we're going on a date." He smiles back and my heart leaps out of my chest.

I love this man so much, it hurts sometimes.
