《Alpha's Leopard (MxM)》Chapter 63: HISTORY

DYLAN ||

Sitting in the livingroom with the whole damn gang, we were all currently waiting for Liam to return with the magical creatures.

I asked for everyone to be here because every single person in this room right now is my fucking family and they're important to me and let's face it, I'm an emotional wreck and I need all the support I can to get through this shit.

A knock on the door, caused me to tighten my grip on Raiden's hand. He rubbed gentle circles with his thumb over my knuckles, but for the first time, his efforts didn't bring me any comfort. The door opens and the familiar scent of Liam plus 4 others waft through the house.

"Good afternoon everyone." Liam smiles as he walks into the livingroom with the magical creatures following behind him.

Everyone shifts and makes room for the new additions to the emotional party.

"Ok, so my sons, Dylan and Raiden have asked if we all could be here today for support of the recent discovery of my grand-pups or grand-cubs." Liam announces, causing a big goofy grin to creep on my face, as well as Raiden's. I loved that he called my mate his son as well.

"Everyone here has been made aware of the shock this morning at Dylan's ultrasound. We've invited our magical family members here to seek their advice on the history of hybrids."

Quiweeme, Weheil, Alaric and Eva all visibly tense at the mention of hybrids, which wasn't a good fucking start.

"Have any of you ever encountered a hybrid before and can you shed some light on maybe the history and laws if any surrounding hybrids?" Liam asks, taking a seat next to Emilio, then kissing his mate's temple.

I smiled at them, the thought of them finally being able to accept their bond and love each so closely now was awesome, seriously. It's been 27 years since they were able to be in each other's arms again, so it really was so great for them.

Not to mention, I definitely noticed their mate marks, so there's no denying what they are to each other, they bare their love for the whole world to see.

"I've only encountered one hybrid in my lifetime, it's was 4 years ago, back in the forbidden forest before Liam found me." Eva swallowed nervously. "I smelled the wolf on the beast as well as its vamp musk, so I knew it was a hybrid of those forms."

"It attacked me without being provoked, magical beings have known about the existence of hybrids since the beginning of our world. They're blood crazed, ravaged beasts that lack control." Eva tells everyone before looking at Quiweeme and Weheil.

"We have encountered numerous hybrids over our 700 years on this earth, hybrids of all sorts. Every single one just as Eva described, savaged, blood crazed, more beast than human, more animal than man... they're not something that should ever live among us because of their

strength, power and lack of humanity." Quiweeme says.

"The most terrifyingly memorable beasts were those of shifter form mixed with those of magic, hence wolf and vamp, although any hybrid lacks the ability to control itself, as Quiweeme has said, they are more beast than man." Weheil tells us.

"What do you mean by that? Uncontrollable? More beast than man?" Raiden asks, holding me even tighter.

"A hybrid of shifter form is the most deadly because it truly is more beast than man. For example, you and your leopard can coexist one in the same, you won't be blood crazed or dangerous because you can control yourselves, you are perfectly half and half, but for shifter hybrids it's completely different." Quiweeme says.

"For shifter hybrids, they are 3 wholes instead of a perfect mixture, one part human and 2 parts beasts, like in your little ones cases, they will be one part human because of the component of your DNA with Dylan's, but their shifted counterpart will be 2 parts beast, that of wolf and that of leopard. Hence being more beast than man." Weheil says.

"When a hybrid is more beast than man, it lacks the ability to control itself, the instinct to kill is more potent than the instinct to think clearly. They are dangerous, blood crazed and damaging... a single shifter hybrid can destroy an entire city, an entire pack or coven on its own." Alaric tells us.

Shit..

"What do you mean by blood crazed?" I ask nervously.

"Just as it sounds, young one." Quiweeme says. "Blood crazed meaning it seeks the kill, gets its thrill from the kill, wants nothing more than to take the blood of those it slaughters."

OH FUCK..

My pups..

Are they seriously going to be blood thirsty monsters? Worse than rogues?

"Shifter hybrids are some of the most feared creatures in history." Alaric says.

My heart dropped.

FUCKING SHIT MAN.

Quiweeme, Weheil, Alaric and Eva continue to tell us that every alpha in the world, every mythical creature in the world knows about the history of hybrids or should and the fact that none of us did, wasn't a good thing.

Seeing how the last known shifter hybrid was seen 4 years ago according to Eva's story and the fact that it was in the forbidden forest, where normal beings with common sense don't go, it wasn't totally shocking that none of us have heard of them before, but it wasn't good that we didn't know anything about them.

Hybrids have walked the earth for centuries, living off the blood of those it slaughtered because of its need for potency and power. Apparently the more a hybrid feeds, the longer it can go between feeds.

Hybrids are the worst of our kinds.

Forbidden by the council due to their sheer strength, power, size and the fact that they're uncontrollable. They don't hold the intelligence to control themselves, unable to keep our world a secret, especially when they go into a blood craze.

The hybrid shifters hold the power that regular shifters don't.

They are more animal than human, more beast than man, more crazed than sane.

A hybrid also has the ability to last longer even with the presence of silver or wolfsbane in its system, it takes a large amount of each poison to even be able to subdue a hybrid.

Their auras are strong, deadly and they've been known to project that onto others or shield themselves with it, making them even more dangerous.

History tells us that hybrids shift at random ages in their lives, nobody knows why, but they do.

Usually a shift happens at the age of 13-18 for regular shifters, Hybrids however, have been known to shift for the first time as young as 6 months old.

Making them even more dangerous because once they get their beast form, their human form slowly fades and they become the blood thirsty, savage beasts that the world fears for good reason.

A single hybrid can take down an entire wolf pack, an entire coven, an entire city all for the sake of killing everything that moves or even for the blood of what it seeks.

My pups will eventually lose their humanity once they shift into their true forms.

I honestly didn't know how to process that..

According to my ultrasound, two of my pups had completely disappeared from view, their protective barrier surrounding them, all of them had strong auras and that scared the living shit out of me.

What would this mean for them later in life? What if they shift at birth or at two years old? What if they get their true forms and then lose their humanity before we can even get to know them?

THIS IS NOT FAIR!

"Is there anyway to maybe reserve the effects of a hybrids blood craze?" Liam asks when the silence in the room grows to astronomical levels.

"Unfortunately no, not that I'm aware of." Quiweeme says.

"And if there was a way, it would take a huge amount of energy to do that and unfortunately that would alert the Mythic council to what's happening." Eva frowns.

"Why is that?" Adonis asks.

"The Mythic council has very strict laws about the existence of hybrids because of the past damage their kind has caused.." Alaric explains before looking at me.

"Unfortunately, if the council were made aware of your little ones existence and the fact that they may actually be hybrids, they would order the immediate termination of your young."

"Over my fucking dead body!" Raiden roars.

"Your Mythic council would actually harm a child?" Layla asks in disbelief as the whole room goes into an uproar.

"No, no. The council has never harmed a young one, but they would demand the young ones to be taken to a location where they would hold hybrids until adulthood and then..." Alaric scrunches up his face. "Once they reach adulthood, they would be killed."

NO....

"Our pups never stood a chance." I whisper, as my chest rises and falls heavily.

"Why would the Gods and Goddesses pair two different species if there was a possibility that a hybrid could come out of their pairing? Why? Why the fuck would they do that?" I yell, clutching onto my mates shirt.

"Son, maybe there is a way to ensure your pups don't lose their humanity.. the Gods and Goddesses have to have known a way because they wouldn't condemn your pups before they even got the chance to live." Liam tries to reassure me, but I was too far gone. I was panicking, legit panicking.

I'm scared..

Scared for my pups..

Two of them could be hybrids..

This is a complete fucking nightmare..

Raiden notices my moment of loss and he holds me even closer before planting kisses all over my face. His sweet gesture calms me down enough to take a deep breath and my grip on him, loosens.

"There has to be a way." Adonis whispers.

"Our little cubs aren't condemned, there is a way, there has to be." Layla tells us.

"And we will find it." Liam reassures once again. "But for now, let's try not to panic because that will cause extra stress on you son and we definitely don't want the pups stressed out."

I nod, completely agreeing with him.

"Maybe for the time being, we should think of the cubs as just that, cubs. Not hybrids, we take care of this issue with the Wolf's Claw pack, allow our magical family members to locate the ones we need and then we worry about the cubs once they're born." Adonis offers.

After a little while, I nod, agreeing with him as well. That's probably the best thing we could do right now.

"Ok." Liam whispers. "Great idea Adonis, we focus on the first issue at hand and we think of our little ones as the normal shifters they could be. Then once the Wolf's Claw pack issue is handled, we go from there." Liam nods more to himself than anyone else.

I couldn't help but worry though. I agreed with their suggestions, but fuck me, my pups could be hybrids, they could lose their humanity and have a target on their perfect little heads.

Whatever I have to do to protect them, I will.

Nobody will touch my children. Nobody.

Not a single soul. I won't lose them and they won't lose themselves.

Like the parentals said, there has to be a way.
