"Leonia.."
I called out, she turned around and raised a brow.
"You're name is beautiful."
I smiled at her softly.
"Thank you, Y/n."
She replied.
It's been five day's ever since the Duke decided to adopt Leonia. I really respect the Duke because of that so much.
Because of him Leonia can finally have a great life.
"Y/n, why are you crying?"
She asked.
"I'm not."
I replied.
"Yes, you are."
"I'm just happy." I smiled at her genuinely.
She walked towards me and wipe off my tears using her tiny cute hands.
"Don't cry Y/n."
I just giggled at her cuteness.
"Thank you so much, Lady Leonia."
I teased.
"Ugh, don't call me that!"
She dramatically said.
It was all fun until the door suddenly opened, revealing Duke Boleoti.
I fixed my posture and bowed.
The Duke didn't say anything but looked straight in to my eyes as if telling me to leave immediately.
"Oh right, I need to help the chef prepare dinner. I should take my leave now."
I let go of Leonia's hands but she tugged my dress making me kind of lose my balanced and stepped on a toy which made me fall.
The Duke looked at me in disappointment, I got up and saw Leonia mouthing 'Sorry' to me.
"I'm sorry, I should leave now."
I hurriedly walked out of the room in embarrassment.
As the father and daughter were eating, I stand not too far from them while holding a pitcher.
I noticed that Leonia's glass is now empty so I walked towards her and fill her glass with water.
"Should we find you a nanny?" Duke Boleoti asked.
'Does that mean I'll be replaced?' I thought to myself.
"I already have Y/n." She turned her head to me and smiled happily.

"Y/n needs to go back to the orphanage." He said, while glaring at me.
"What? No. Y/n will stay here." She slammed her hand on the table and glared at the Duke.
The Duke stared at Leonia in disbelief.
"Leonia, it's fine. I also need to help the other's taking care of the children in the orphanage." I said.
"But, Y/n.."
"You heard her." The Duke replied.
She looked at me and I saw her eyes getting teary.
"I'll still visit you Leonia."
I said, putting my hand on her shoulder but she slapped it away. She jumped down the chair and ran towards her room, I was about to follow her but then the Duke called out to me.
"You should leave tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? But, what about Leonia?"
I asked. He looked at me and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"She'll be fine."
I answered him with a nod and left.
"Leonia?"
I called, but there was no answer. I looked around and saw her sitting on the ground behind the bed, hugging her legs while sobbing.
"Leonia."
I walked slowly to her, and sat beside her.
"Hey. I'm sorry."
I said while rubbing her back.
"Are you really gonna leave me?"
She asked.
"I will be back I promise!"
She lifted her head and stared at me, I noticed that her eyes were really puffy which made me feel guilty.
"Promise? Pinky promise?"
She asked, I smiled at her.
"Yes, pinky promise!"
She launched herself to me and hugged me tightly.
"I will be waiting for you, Y/n."
I already packed my stuffs and left my room, I was now waiting for the carriage.
I pulled my sleeves up and checked the time on my watch.

"The carriage should've been here 10 minutes ago.."
I sighed and sat on the bench. After 10 more minutes I saw the carriage from afar. I quickly stood up, and fixed myself.
"Y/n!!!"
I was just about to hop in when suddenly I heard someone yell my name out loud which made me stopped and turn around, I saw Leonia running towards me in her pajamas while a maid is following her.
"Y/n!!"
She yelled again.
"Why didn't you wake me up!!?? Were you just gonna leave me without saying goodbye??!!"
She yelled while glaring at me.
"I'm sorry, my lady. You were sleeping and I don't want to wake you up."
I smiled at her.
"tch... Here you go."
She said while handing me a necklace, I took it and stared at her in awe.
"I'm gonna miss you Y/n."
"Me too, But I'll be back in a week or so."
I replied.
"Yeah, yeah. You should go now, bye"
"Goodbye!"
I opened the carriage door and hopped in, I haven't even left yet but I could hear Leonia sobbing. I saw her hugging the maid, and it made my heart break a little.
'I'll be back, I promise.'
It's been a few hours ever since I left, I didn't know it will take too long to go back. When we went to the Duke's Mansion it did not take that long for us to get there.
I yawned, feeling a little bit tired.
"Oh right, the necklace." I pulled the necklace out of my pocket and looked at it. It was a beautiful necklace with a green gem as I look closely I notice my name engraved inside the gem, I hugged it closely to me remembering Leonia. I can't helped but missed her so much.
But then suddenly it felt like the carriage was being tipped, I look outside the window noticing that the carriage is gonna fell off the cliff.
"Miss L/n!! Don't move or the carriage will fall!!" I looked on the other window and saw the coachman yelling at me. He slowly opened the door and held out his hand.
I couldn't reach it so he moved a little bit towards me, I felt the carriage moving and yelled at him.
"Stop!!! D-dont move!!!" After a few minutes I decided to try and get out of the carriage.
I inhaled deeply and slowly made my way towards him.
'A little bit more..'
I was just about to grab his hand when suddenly the carriage fell...
What.. I almost got there!! No. No. No this can't be happening.. I closed my eyes and prepared my self for the impact.
*BOOMBOOMBOOMBAYAH*
It hurts alot, I tried to move but it hurted more. I noticed that a piece of wood pierced right through me.
A tear slowly drip down my face.
I'm dying aren't I? Too much blood is flowing out of me.
The last thing I saw before dying was the coachman looking at me with a grin on his face...
"Did you do it?"
"Yes, I did Countess."
"Very well. Now that girl is gone, the prophecy won't happen."
I gasped and quickly sat up. I look around and notice that I'm in a luxurious room.
Was that just a dream? Wait, wasn't I dead? Too many unanswered questions fill my head.
I then notice a beautiful girl in the mirror, wait!!! Is that me??!!
I walked closer to it and gasped.
"It's me."
The door suddenly opened revealing a maid.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Stop messing around Lady F/n, you're father is waiting for you."
"Lady F/n?"
What in the world is happening?!!

2021/10/20 - Taking this down for a complete rewrite. I like the plot but the writing on the first attempt is... Garbage :/ Jack was just waiting for the storm to pass. It wouldn't. What it did was take him on the journey of a lifetime. A lot of lifetimes, in fact. This is a cultivation/wuxia story at its core. May contain young masters, martial arts and magic. * 14/08/2020 - Rough editing done on the published chapters, hooray! Now to resume normal - edited! - releases.

Winter Fire [ Book 1 ] ✔
On the second jump, Claire's bad leg gave way and she felt herself tumbling forward. A cry of surprise escaped her and Claire was certain she was about to topple off the side of the train. Alek, however, moved quickly, catching her mid-fall and keeping her upright, and alive. Claire lifted her eyes to meet his which were wide with alarm. The expression was fleeting, lasting for only a moment before it was replaced by a frown. "You could have fallen," he said pointedly."I know," Claire breathed, finding her thoughts drifting to the strong arm wrapped around her waist. A flush rose to her cheeks and she was grateful for the biting wind that masked her reaction. "Thank you.""You need to be more careful," he continued, his eyes locked on hers, bright and haunting in the silver glow of the moon overhead."I will," Claire assured him, her heart skipping in her chest.
