《She's Mother {Rengoku x Demon! Reader}》Chapter 19: Yushiro is dead

You'd wandered off, trying to place where exactly you were. You were trying to gather your bearings, still feeling like you were in a thick fog mentally. You were stumbling around, pinging off of trees left and right. "Mother!" Akaza called after you, trying to catch up to you before you bounced off of another tree.
He grabbed your upper arm, pulling you into his chest. You groaned, smacking him away. "Quit it," you groaned again as you continued to stumble your way through the forest. Akaza grunted, reeling away from you.
He was shocked by the fact that you had just hit him. She must be out of it, he thought bitterly. You hadn't hit him in decades, not unless you were sparring. His hand rested where you had hit him, still reeling from the sting that was left behind.
"Mother please," he called out to your retreating form. "Please just come back," Akaza pleaded. You stuttered in your rhythm for a moment before stopping completely. You stood there, not looking behind you to the begging form of Akaza.
He rushed up to you, circling his arms around your form in hopes of preventing you from running away. He knew you'd be able to beat him if you really tried, but he hoped the small barrier would discourage you from putting up too much of a fight.
"What's going on mother? The others are waiting for you." He whispered in hopes of not breaking whatever trance you seemed to be in. "I..." You sighed and looked down at his arms that were wrapped firmly around your torso. "I'm not sure, everything just feels wrong," you breathe and lean back slightly into Akaza's body.
He tightened his hold, giving you a semblance of a hug, and tucked his chin into your shoulder. You reached up slowly, rubbing his hair softly. It calmed you and gave you something to ground yourself.
"I'm sorry for hitting you," you mumbled absently. He said nothing, only snuggling further into your body. After a few moments of simply being present with each other, you gently pushed his arms away from you. He was hesitant to relinquish his grip but eased his arms away from you.
You turned, smiled at him, and headed back toward the children. You were excited to see them especially after having not been able to converse with them in a few weeks. You had missed the routine of having your children with you and were happy to be able to have that again even if only for a short time.
⬛⬛⬛
The children followed behind you diligently, asking questions here and there, but otherwise looking around them in wonderment. Akaza was in the back, making sure all of the children kept up, and Tamayo and Yushiro were beside the small group. You'd encircled the children, making sure no one wandered off and no that anyone who attempted to ambush you would be seen by an adult first.
"Where have you been mom?" Arita questioned. You looked over your shoulder at him, and he looked up at the trees' tops. "I know I was gone for a long time and I'm really sorry for my absence. I was ensuring that you would all be safe upon your return. I had to find you all a new home as well, somewhere safer."

Arita nodded, beginning to understand the situation. As one of the oldest he usually had an easier time understanding your role and the things you would do for him and his siblings than his younger siblings did.
They only knew that the woman who cared deeply for them and provided for them was gone without any explanation. Many of them felt abandoned and it was his and Sasori's job to comfort them. Tamayo was of great help, while Yushiro was useless.
"Oh mom," Sasori cut in. "Yes?"
"Yushiro was mean to Oka." You halted, head snapping to the youngest demon. "What?" You grit. "Mmhm. He was mean to Oka because Ms. Tamayo was hugging him." Your eye twitched, ever so slightly and Akaza stepped back.
"Is that true Yushiro?" You stalked towards him. He stuttered and stumbled over his words. "I-I have no idea what she is speaking of," he huffed and turned away. "Tamayo, Akaza, take the children away for a moment." You leveled Yushiro with a stare as they took the children about 100 yards away.
He was sweating, a sign of guilt. Your sight only flitted for a moment to see the children had gone far enough when Yushiro tried to make a run for it. You rolled your eyes, thoroughly displeased with the man.
You'd allowed his existence to happen because Tamayo liked him, and he helped her, but he'd just messed with one of your young children during a vulnerable time, and that was damn near unforgivable.
You whistled as you walked after him. Knowing he couldn't get far enough from you to successfully escape. "Really? You're really trying to get away Yushiro?" You sang, never picking up your pace.
You could hear him huffing and puffing, having lost his breath in his run. "You should know better by now Yushiro, you can't get away from me." She's playing me at this point, she has to be, he thought panicked.
He had hidden in a bush, hoping to escape your wrath, even if he was only delaying the inevitable. You heard the rustling of shrubbery settle, so you silenced your own steps, breathe slowing enough to be unheard by even the best ears.
You could hear Yushiro's heart pounding, it brought you a sickening pleasure, and you were gonna make him suffer. You smirked, stepping slowly and crouching slightly.
"I'm gonna find you," you chorused as you hunted the younger demon. You could suddenly smell the adrenaline pouring off of you. Your nose may not be the best, but with how much he was sweating, it was easy to locate where he was hiding.
"Did you forget that I allow you to live," you growled, moving around silently. "You're lucky that Tamayo has insisted that you live. Had anyone else made as many mistakes as you have, I'd have set them out in the sun to burn." You had crouched, moving along the dirt quietly, bare feet quiet in their slow and steady movements.
You'd figured out where he was, but you wanted to scare him, if he died, oh well. "Moon breathing, reflection," you whispered, running your hand along the ground in a large sweeping motion.
This would make it so Yushiro wouldn't be able to discern where the sound of your voice was coming from. "Come on out Yushiro. If you do maybe I'll have mercy," you crooned, making your way behind him.

Where the fuck is she, where the fuck is she, Yushiro chanted silently and looked around frantically. The trees shook violently and bowed, giving to the wind. She's gonna kill me, even the fucking trees move for her. Yushiro knew if he still had a normal heart he'd have died of a heart attack at that moment.
Behind him, you were crouched silently. You pounced before he even had the chance to look behind him. You caught him in a choke hold, shifting to cover his mouth to silence his desperate screams. "Quiet," you intoned. He was struggling, scratching at your arms and opening your previous wounds.
You were about three seconds from taking out his jugular with your teeth but instead forced your blood to shift into a "gag" and cover his mouth. "I said quiet," you growled, jerking him down from his struggle and cinching your arm around his throat.
"Did you think you could hide? I'm the strongest being to have ever existed, the trees bow to me, and the wind stops for me. Did you really think you had any chance?" It wasn't a question, and he knew. You crooned at him, "oh, what a little bitch. You really thought you could hide? I could hear your pounding heart. You're such a fucking idiot, it's truly pitiful. "
He was starting to pass out, and you barely removed your pressure, just keeping him on the edge of consciousness. "Stay awake you sorry excuse," it was taking great will to not kill him. It would bring you great satisfaction but it would be short term and Tamayo would be sad with him dead.
"If I killed you even Muzan himself wouldn't be able to heal you, but I'll give you one thing. You're smart enough to know when to run, but you should have kept running and hoped I would grow tired." You had to take a deep breath, knowing you were getting carried away.
"Now," you adjusted your body so that your mouth was beside his ear. "You ever hurt one of my children again, and I will show you no mercy. I'll won't even do you the honor of decapitation, you'll choke on your own blood. It'll make it hurt," he tried to squirm away. "Uh-uh, no squirming." you snarled, snapping at his face and accidentally taking a chunk out of his ear. It was disgusting but you allowed it to slide down your throat anyway, mainly to prove a point.
You took your arm from around his head, the one securing the choke hold, and brought it to his chest. You willed your nails to grow longer, blood coming from your open cuts to create the illusion of longer nails. You slowly dug your nails into his chest as he cried out in pain.
"Let this be your final warning Yushiro, I'll rip your heart out if you ever do something like this again, understood?" He whimpered in reply, attempting to nod his head. You dug a little further, moving your fingers slightly, before slowly releasing him.
He curled in on himself, choking and heaving. You stood up, towing over him. You wanted to kick him, but decided the injuries you inflicted would be enough for now. You walked off, leaving him behind.
He held his chest, trying to breathe in, but you'd hit one of his lungs. Probably on purpose, he frowned. He'd always seen you as a maternal figure, and of course, all demons can be dangerous but he seemed to underestimate the extent of the danger you posed. You were a force to be reckoned with.
You were right too, the trees seemed to bow to you, making a path through the forest for you. Yushiro wheezed, hoping his healing lung would hurry up so he could return to Tamayo and avoid you at all costs.
You had to stop by a creek to wash the running blood off but returned to your young children quickly. "It's dealt with, let's move on."
"But where is Yushiro?" Tamayo questioned, extremely worried. "He'll catch up," you asserted and moved forward. All of the little ones followed you diligently, as did Akaza, but Tamayo lagged behind. She was highly worried for Yushiro, but you didn't look like you had killed him. "Mother?" She questioned quietly. "Yes?"
"May I stay behind and wait for Yushiro," you stopped on a dime when she said that. You sighed heavily. "When he comes back, keep going straight," you said nothing else. Marching off toward the Unuyashiki estate.
The children ran around your body, like little moons, asking questions. Akaza was behind your group, watching the surroundings for any threats. You smiled at the children as you answered the questions, all while Akaza was struggling with his own thoughts.
You had essentially pranced back to where the children were, and it was unrighteously attractive. He knew he shouldn't be having these thoughts about you. You had never alluded to any romantic feelings, only maternal ones. And it pissed Akaza off. You were perfect for each other. You just had to see it.
You'd be able to conquer anything together, you just had to break through and see him as an equal not some child. While he loved the sweet touches and affection, Akaza wished desperately for your romantic affection.
Rengoku was able to have it, maybe had I been able to kill him I could have her, he thought bitterly. Akaza vaguely remembered your husband and Rengoku and he were oddly similar.
As Akaza stewed behind your little group, you came upon the Ubuyashiki estate. You stopped, smiling brightly at the children. "Everyone, this is your new home," you opened your arms wide, showing off how expansive the estate was.
Yes, I know, weird little in$est plot. I don't (ever) to make it returned, but the whole point is to show that while Akaza may be all cute n sh!t he's still a demon. And he's a morally gray (at best) character. He's self-centered, and (Y/n) is just lucky enough to have become the planet that he rotates. The whole point is that he's a very gray character who is struggling with his own thoughts and feelings. Also because of the time when he was human he interacts differently with the opposite sex.
