Vikram and Devika looked at the exchange between Anuj and Anupama. It had been two hours since these long-lost friends were catching up on each other. They had full-blown smiles on their faces. , said Devika leaning on Vikram's shoulder. complemented Vikram. Both friends had seen the sufferings and ups and downs that these pure souls had seen. They had seen their journey and were emotional. Samar chimed in, Both of them were startled for a second and Devika smacked Samar's head. She nodded her head in approval when Vikram's stomach grumbled in hunger. Devika heaved a sigh. Vikram looked at Devika and found that something was cooking in her not-so-innocent brain. Nevertheless, he gestured at the two friends who were engrossed in conversation. Devika was skeptical but she had to play her best bet even if it meant staking her friendship.

Devika walked up to the duo whereas Samar went to freshen up. She coughed loudly, making Anuj and Anupama turn at her. They looked at her quizically to which Devika replied, Anupama looked at the time on her phone and Anuj checked his watch. They were surprised. said Anupama. answered Vikram., said Anuj. Anupama went to call Samar, who was combing his hair in front of the mirror. She walked up to him and wordlessly pecked his forehead. Samar was amused and smiled as she went ahead to get ready. Anuj informed GK about the sudden outing and requested to take care of himself. He left a message for Saveer as well. Soon everyone assembled in the hallway. The ride to the cafe was all smiles and laughter.

Ghatlodiya, Ahmedabad

The Shah Couple had a harrowing day as the future seemed to be bleak. The meeting with AK had left them drained out. Vanraj was bothered by Paritosh's weird behavior that was directed towards him. The debt woes were like a double-edged sword and to add on top of it were Rakhi Dave's sassy taunts and jabs. There was a mockery being made out of his divorce debacle by that sordid opportunist. It was beyond his imagination and that caused a twinge of pain in his heart. He also had to have a look at the cafe and felt that it would be the best place to rewind from the chaos happening in his life.

Kavya had intentionally kept herself away from Vanraj. The relationship that she shared with him had changed overnight. The dynamics were different. The stark differences made her move away from her loved one. She had been trying hard to make her own place in the heart of the people of the household. Paritosh, Kinjal, and Bapuji were slowly having a cordial and amicable bond with her. She was busy helping Mamaji due to the power cut. She suggested to utilize the candle-shaped lights by placing them on each table which had a designated bar scanner for ordering and having a look at the intricately personalized menu. The cafe had been working quite good as the special hand-curated dish was the best seller apart from the french toast.

Leela's Cafe, Ghatlodiya

It seemed a known area to Anupama. The moment she saw the streets it made her nostalgic. The familiar locality made Anupama's eyes moist. It hit her hard She was jittery and giddy as she had spent a major part of her life here. Samar looked at her and held her hand as though he himself was going through a myriad of emotions. Both of them were having a hard time controlling themselves. Vikram looked at the mother and son duo whereas Anuj looked on with a stern gaze at Devika who was looking intently at her shoes which she found interesting at that moment. Vikram and Devika walked up to them and side-hugged them from both sides. spoke Devika in a low voice that clearly portrayed her guilt while gesturing with her hand whereas Samar, Anuj, and Vikram walked into the cafe and settled down in a corner that was cozy and well-lit.

Devika finished in one breath. Anupama looked at her best friends, one was handling her and the other two were making sure that Samar was alright. She wondered how did she get lucky to have a few priceless relationships. She smiled and hugged her overwhelmed by her emotions. She answered in a soft voice,The ladies joined the men at the table.

Anuj was observing the ambiance as well as the property keenly whereas Vikram and Devika were going through the menu. Anupama and Samar met Mamaji. , spoke up Vikram grabbing Anupama as well as Anuj's attention. Samar nodded his head in approval and soon they finalized on drool-worthy Gujarati delicacies or rather light snacks. A few moments later Kavya along with the waiter who came to deliver the order was surprised to find Anuj, Vikram, and Devika. She saw Samar after ages and Anupama's outgoing nature left her flummoxed. Nevertheless, she gave a smile and served them with the help of the waiter. , spoke Kavya as she placed the candle-shaped light on the table.

Anupama found it awkward yet for the first time she was seeing a sublime and subtle side of Kavya. She was all subdued. The spark was missing. Kavya asked, Anuj answered, , whilst looking at Anupama. The statement was solely aimed at her whereas it left Kavya all confused.

The word felt like a balm to Anuj's ears. It had been years since someone had called him by that nickname. It was rather a special name. He took a moment to process the exchange of words. However, Anuj continued to bubble with laughter which was so infectious that even Anupama laughed. Soon others too joined in. Unbeknownst to them, the sight of all the four friends and Samar having a gala time was seen by Kavya who was at the other corner as well as by Vanraj, Paritosh, and Rakhi Dave who had just entered the cafe.

She was genuinely hoping for something good for Anupama. She looked over at Anupama and Anuj who were lost in the moment and Vikram took a picture of them in a discreet manner. Paritosh gave a painful yet happy smile as his eyes lingered over the laughing face of his mother. He had rarely seen her glowing with radiance.

Anuj in a jolly tone. Anupama just looked at her phone trying to control her flattered and flustered face. , spoke Vikram. , came Devika's witty response. Samar too piped in, Anuj and Vikram looked at him in bewildered. , answered Anupama seeing the eyebrows furrowed in confusion. , spoke the businessman AK.

Anupama nodded her head in acceptance and said, The statement left Kavya tongue tied whereas it made Anuj, Vikram, and Devika look at her with a deep sense of admiration. It was a personality trait that made Anuj fall in love years back. The goodness was so deep-rooted that she would even appreciate the plus points of a person who had given her a scar of a lifetime.

Everyone gorged on the delicacies and Anuj spoke as soon as he ate a bite. Anuj gulped down a sip of water and further spoke in a soft voice, Samar gave Anuj I told you so kind of look. The envious eyes were looking morose when Rakhi Dave spoke up, The statement made Vanraj clench his jaws lest he loses control and creates a scene amidst the customers. He remained tight-lipped and closed his eyes in frustration.spoke Rakhi Dave with a certitude. She was simply putting out the facts.

She went ahead to demonstrate the style. Anuj followed her and that sight made Vanraj turn green to a higher degree. , taunted Rakhi. She further asked, That was it for Vanraj. , he answered gritting his teeth. Samar, Vikram and Devika were enjoying the growing bond between Anuj and Anupama. For Vikram and Devika it was union of a pure and unadulterated friendship whereas for Samar he was learning the nuances of a gentleman that valued feminism.

That moment the power was back and Samar as well as Vikram's eyes fell on Shah Couple, Rakhi Dave and Paritosh. Samar looked away whereas Vikram grew uncomfortable. The change in demenour was noticed by Anupama, Anuj and Devika. They turned and looked at the spectators. All of them heaved a sigh. Rakhi Dave walked towards them and spoke, Anuj gave a faint smile and spoke in a cold voice, Rakhi Dave gasped at the divulgence. Everyone except the friends and Samar was taken aback by Anuj's photographic memory power. Kavya interjected, Anuj gave a slight smile as he looked at Anupama for confirmation. The slickly tone was giving him a hard time and Rakhi Dave was surely a headache for him. Even before Rakhi could revert back, Anuj's phone rang and he excused himself. Rakhi turned to Anupama and spoke, It was more of a jab rather than a compliment making all four of them brew in a tinge of discomfort.

Anuj returned a few minutes later and spoke, , which was reciprocated by a smile and a firm handshake surprising Vanraj. He spoke, Anuj exhaled sharply and spoke in a cold voice, Vanraj gave a tight lipped smile and spoke, Vikram, Anupama, Anuj, Paritosh, Samar and Devika looked at him as if he had grown horns on his head. Anupama had a frown on her face. She was unable to comprehend the actions of this man. Anuj adjusted his specs lest he loses his control. The urge to beat the living daylights of this epic piece of a human. Anuj turned towards him, said Anuj checking his watch. Kavya gave a beaming smile and answered, Anuj turned towards Anupama and leaned over her ear in lieu of cleaning something and said in a whisper, Anuj conveyed the message and spoke, and with he walked away towards the entrance of the cafe.

The whole exchange was seen by Devika, Vikram and Samar. It left them puzzled as Anuj had a stoic face whereas Anupama looked stern. The change is expressions left Samar dazzled whereas Vikram and Devika were hoping that it would be everything other than emergency and accidents. It was their code language since college times. A few seconds later Anupama faked a call and excused herself. She walked towards the entrance of the cafe but before assuring Samar that if something goes extreme she would call him and ordered Vikram and Devika to stay put till she returns. The sudden turn of events left Kavya, Vanraj and Paritosh startled. questioned Anupama as she reached out to Anuj, who was standing near the car. Anuj just chuckled and answered, , when a loud scream made Anuj go frenzy. He looked for the source of the noise as it was familiar to him. A few seconds later he spotted few boys cornering a girl at the corner of the road.

He ran towards the girl followed by Anupama. Even before he could do something the girl kicked the boy hard where the sun doesn't shine. She sprayed pepper in the eyes of the other boy and banged the last boy's head strongly with the tree. She injured herself in the fighting and self defence. The boys were about to attack her again when Anuj hit the rod on his head and Anupama threw sand in his eyes and hit him hard with her purse. Anuj rushed towards the girl and hugged her tightly. He separated himself and checked her thoroughly for any signs of injury. He found one and looked at her. Anupama covered her with her shawl. asked Anuj in a stern voice. , said Anupama caressing her face while engulfing her in a hug. She looked at Anuj to her answer her questions. Anupama looked at her with a warm and affectionate smile whereas Samaira looked on open mouthed as she realised that she was engulfed in a hug by the Anupama. A tear rolled down her eye as after years she was basking in mother's love. " Samaira turned towards Anuj and held his hands and spoke, She was engulfed in a bone crushing hug. It was a blissful scene for Anupama making her eyes moist.

Anupama exhaled sharply and nudged Anuj who calmed himself down., said Anuj in a serious tone. He looked hurt and disturbed. He refused look at Samaira and walked away towards the cafe. Samaira looked at Anupama who just squeezed her shoulder.It gave a sense of comfort to her. Anupama held Samaira and made her way to the cafe. Anuj entered the cafe with his sleeves rolled up followed by Anupama who had her shawl missing. Anupama's frame covered Samaira's figure behind her so Vikram and Devika thought it was just them. Anuj gulped down a glass of water and said, , to which Anupama just nodded. ",asked Vikram as he pointed towards a cut on Anupama's hand and Anuj's bleeding hand that was already injured. , said Anupama and moved to her left slowly as a response to his question. However her hand was tightly held by Maira. Vikram and Devika looked at the familiar figure with happiness and myriad emotions.
