Chapter Twenty Two
||KIT||
†
Whose idea was it for me to go wandering the halls of a demonic creature who thinks freefalling elevators are the future?
Mine, of course.
Because I'm an idiot, apparently.
I had been walking for about 5 minutes before I realized that I had no idea where I was going and when I turned around to head back the way I came I realized that I was in fact, lost, because none of the hotel rooms were numbered in a language I could read, just more of the strange hieroglyphics.
I was about to start looking for cameras when a figure turned the corner, his lanky frame leaning against the wall as the overhead lights glinted off his pure white mask.
My heart lurched in my chest but I was relieved still. Masky had found me, so I wasn't lost after all. As he started to make his way toward me, however, the hairs along the back of my neck prickled and I took a step back.
"been looking all over for you," his tone was soft and he reached out a hand, grasping my wrist and pulling me to his chest as he looked down at me from under his mask.
"Why's that?"
"There's something I've been wanting to try."
I gave him a questioning look and he used his free hand to push his mask up, revealing his lips and the smile that was plastered across them.
I held my breath when he dipped his head, my eyes still open in shock when his lips came closer.
Was this-?
"Kit?"
My eyes flickered open to see Masky had just come around the corner, making his way over to me with his hands tucked into his pockets.
I was more embarrassed than anyone could imagine.
Why did I just slip into a fantasy about kissing him?
I'm finally losing it.
He stopped before me, looking down at me from behind that darn mask, "you can't just wander off in a place like this."
Ugh, this boy lives to lecture me.
"I was looking for a bathroom."
"Did you find one?"
I nodded and went by him, heading down the direction he came from but my wrist was caught before I could get far and I was pulled back, against his chest.
"That's highly unlikely," he spoke, "Zalgo may have called this place a hotel but that's just on the surface. This whole place is crawling with demons."
"I'm sure I'll be fine," I mumbled.
His grip tightened and he turned me to face him, "I'm telling you not to wander off again."
"I won't."
He seemed to stare down at me for a few seconds before his hand cupped my cheek making me blush shyly, leaning my face into his gloved palm like a kitten.
"You're so fucking cute," he groaned, his voice sounding strained as he backed me up against the wall, my eyes wide as I peered up at him.
For some reason my body was hyper-aware of how close he was to me now.
"Open your mouth."
The request caught me off guard and I swallowed hard, forced to open my mouth when he continued to keep me pressed against the wall.
"Stick your tongue out."
Butterflies danced in my belly and I felt like a marionette, sticking my tongue out despite how embarrassed it made me. I couldn't explain the strange feeling that compelled me to do as I was told.
Was this really happening, or was it like the almost-kiss I had dreamt up earlier?

Masky pushed his mask up onto the top of his head, his brown gaze pinning me to the spot as he stared down at me, shoulders heaving and jaw clenched.
So that's how he looks at me.
My body shook lightly in anticipation at the starving gaze of the man before me as I watched him remove the glove from his right hand with his teeth, trailing his thumb over my lips before he slipped a finger into my mouth. I instinctively sucked on it, earning a sharp gasp from him as he slid his finger deeper causing me to gag.
"You have such a pretty mouth," he praised, "perfect for screaming," he slipped his finger out of my mouth and it was replaced with his tongue as his lips met mine in a rough kiss that caught me off guard and sent my mind reeling.
I was too stunned to kiss back and I felt a warmth growing in the pit of my stomach when his tongue slid against mine.
When I finally regained control of my limbs, I wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing him back with a kind of desperate urgency.
It felt like I'd been waiting my whole life for this moment.
I released a moan when I felt his hand grab my ass, pulling my body against his more firmly. My cheeks were on fire and my body was practically shaking. I heard him groan against my lips before I was being pressed against a hard surface, his hand that was gripping my ass had slid even lower and I whimpered into his mouth.
It was finally happening!
Several moans left my lips as I felt his knee between my legs, pressing up against me to the point where it felt like I was straddling him. Delicious waves of pleasure coursed through my body and his fingers dug into my skin painfully, his tongue slithering along mine. stifling any whimpers of protest.
When he finally broke the kiss it was only so he could feast on my neck, biting and sucking on the soft flesh there while I held back the sounds that threatened to escape me. We were still in the hallway, where anyone could find us without trying.
I almost melted at the feel of his erection pressing against me.
"You're mine," he breathed gruffly into my ear.
Those two words.
From anyone else, it might've sounded endearing, but when he whispered those words into my ear, I felt my blood freeze in my veins.
His.
What would it mean, to be his?
I stifled a gasp when his hand was wrapped around my neck and he was glaring daggers down at me.
"Say it."
My heart was thudding in my chest, my fingers digging into his hands as I tried to pry them away from my throat.
"Say you're mine," his gruff voice caused my legs to tremor as I whimpered out an answer.
"Yours. I'm yours."
"Good girl," He separated himself from me, looking down at me for a few seconds as my gaze found the floor, too stunned to think, too embarrassed to even find out what look he was giving me.
He pulled his mask down over his face again before putting his glove back on and slipping the sleeve of my top over my shoulder from where it had slid down. He then held out a hand for me to take.
Accepting his gloved hand, I allowed him to lead me back to the room from earlier in silence.
"You're awfully shy now since I kissed you," he remarked as I trailed behind him and I huffed, turning my head away.

"I'm not," I managed to mumble under my breath.
"You are though."
"I'm just thinking."
"About the kiss?"
"About- the things you do to me."
He didn't answer for a few seconds and I was tempted to tug my hand out of his grip.
"I'm good to you," he finally spoke.
"Not really."
"You're still alive aren't you?"
I rolled my eyes. Sometimes I can forget what an ass he is. I bit my lip to keep from answering back.
He wasn't wrong and that made me more upset about the whole thing than it probably should've. He clearly wasn't a normal person and I didn't even know what his motivations were anymore.
He wanted me to be with him but why? What could I offer someone like him?
"I wasn't your first kiss was I?"
I was too embarassed to answer. Why did he want to know?
I finally shook my head, still keeping my eyes glued on the pristine, glossy floor.
He pulled my body against his and looked down at me through the dark eyeholes of his mask, "I'll be your last though."
I swallowed at that. Usually those words would be sweet but knowing him, I wasn't all too sure about that.

As we entered the room where we'd left the others I noticed Zalgo had returned and there was an additional person in the room.
They were both sporting matching Cheshire grins, the unknown figure clad in a dark trench coat and fedora, the faceless giant's frame towering over everyone.
"Ah, there they are!"
My cheeks were on fire, palms sweaty as all eyes were suddenly on us.
What if they could tell I was just kissed to within an inch of my life?
I flashed an awkward wave, quickly making my way over to Amy.
"As I was saying before you left," Masky spoke up like nothing happened, "all we want you to do is alter the memories of the people involved in the whole thing and then get rid of the evidence. Just to the point where they no longer suspect her of any crimes."
"Understandable," said Zalgo, "but our services are not free. You objected to that one serving Offender's harem and to this one being my proxy. How then do you plan to repay me?"
The one named Offenderman suddenly let out a boisterous laugh, "that won't be necessary. Truth is I've actually settled down over the years."
Zalgo's eyes turned to Offenderman with a look of surprise, "I heard rumors of you taking a human for your wife but I wasn't so sure. How odd."
"They do hold a certain charm," the creature appeared to purr.
With a name like that, I doubt anyone would find it hard to guess what his deal was.
"Alright then. She'll be my proxy for a year," Zalgo suddenly pointed at Amy and then turned to me, "as for you, you have one mission. If you pass we'll take care of your little scandal. If you fail, you'll have to become my proxy for a year as well."
"Listen-" Masky started.
"What's a proxy?" I heard Amy whisper to Toby.
Zalgo's eyes gleamed with malicious intent as he grinned, "I want you to kill the other remaining survivor."
Mason.
I chewed on my lower lip thoughtfully.
Kill Mason?
How the hell was I gonna do that? He wasn't exactly a 90 pound cheerleader. Not to mention the fact that if I went through with it and killed Mason with my own hands I couldn't go back. I could no longer argue that it was an accident. Killing Mason would cause too much cognitive dissonance to sink in.
"The main reason we even came here was so she wouldn't have to kill anyone," Masky spoke up, thankfully.
"Oh but that wouldn't be entertaining at all," Zalgo commented, "I know you lot arent fond of him and I'd love to see her take on this challenge. That way, everyone wins."
Everyone but me.
"Let me know how it goes," Offenderman spoke after checking the time and tipping his hat, "I'll be heading home to my human."
He was then gone with a flash.
"So, what do you say?" Zalgo questioned.
"I-I-" my throat was dry and I couldn't formulate a proper sentence. Should I? Could I?
"Fine, she'll do it," there he goes again, speaking up for me. I glared hotly at Masky.
It was the best thing to do and I knew that if I did it I could have my old life back, but killing another person, I just couldn't do it.
"Great, come morning you'll have 48 hours," Zalgo grinned, "better get enough rest tonight, if you can."
He waved a hand and a few of his followers were suddenly by our sides, waiting to take us to our rooms. He was gone before we could object.
"That guy's such an asshole," Amy scoffed, "there's no reason he had to give you a time limit."
Toby who'd been quiet this whole tome suddenly spoke up, turning to one of the demons,"does my room have a h-hot tub by any chance?"
Masky took my hand, pulling me over to him, "stay with me tonight."
A sudden memory of the kiss from earlier had butterflies dancing in my tummy once again, stirring up new emotions within me.
If he kissed me like that again-
Amy's head snapped to look at me after hearing what he'd said, "are you okay with that?"
Even though my instincts told me I should say no, I knew if I did it would only cause more tension between us. He didn't seem to take rejection well.
But also that incredible kiss earlier- I wanted to feel that way again. The way he made my nerve endings catch aflame and my mind spiral out of control.
"Y-yeah," I answered quietly, biting my lip.
She smiled and nodded, "alright. Goodnight then."
"Goodnight."
After wishing each other goodnight we were led away in the direction of our separate rooms and we ended up being only a few doors down from Amy's room.
The door was opened and I stepped across the threshold, relieved to find an air conditioned room that could rival any non demonic 5 star hotel.
"I'm just glad the room's not boobytrapped," I mumbled.
"Don't jinx it," Masky chuckled, closing the door behind us.
I was putting on a brave front but truth be told my heart was beating out of my chest in anticipation. Of the day to come, and the even longer night ahead.
☆☆
Honestly I was planning on some smut for this chapter but the characters wanted to go a completely different direction and I had to listen to them so you get this.
But um obviously the chapter is actually gonna be spicy so💀 good luck!
