《Kumiai, Cookies & “Genki” Club》Chapter 45: On the way to the manga and anime club

While trying to discover as many clubs as possible while respecting as much as possible the itinerary created by Christopher, Rina realizes that time passes faster than she thought.
We are already almost at the end of the day, there is only the last step of the planning…
“Well, I think we’re done. We’ve checked off all the boxes on the club list. Do you still want to see something Rina?”
“Hmm? I’m not sure…let me think.”
Oh yeah, I didn’t tell you but I decided to skip the rest of the tour for the sake of easy storytelling. I’m the narrator so I do what I want.
It’s mostly to keep the mystery about the rest of the story, but that’s just between us…
“I feel like I’m forgetting something but I don’t know what.”
“A lot indeed happened this afternoon, it went by so fast…”
You bet…
“AH! I know!”
“You remember it?”
“Yes, we had to go back to Kou-kun.”
“Are you talking about the boy from the manga club?”
“Yes, he had asked us to come back after the event so it would be less crowded.”
“With luck, you might even run into the authors and mangakas you like so much Rina-chan.”
“You’re right, they might still be there. Let’s go right now!”
Here they go again towards the manga and anime club.
“What do you think of this day, Rina-chan? Of all the clubs we visited, are there any that interest you enough to want to join?”
“I never really thought about whether I wanted to join a club until then, it’s pretty hard for me to decide.”
“You shouldn’t beat yourself up too much, Rina, joining a club is not a year-round, unbreakable contract. Many join clubs on a whim and leave after a trial period realizing it wasn’t for them or they weren’t that interested.”

“Really?”
“Yes, we had that happen again last year with the surf club. A few recruits had taken the first step to learn the sport but two of them didn’t continue the adventure with us.”
“What were the reasons?”
“If I remember well, there was a girl who discovered she was scared to death of the ocean floor and a boy who was looking for an activity in contact with the sea, but with surfing, he didn’t find his groove.”
“Wait, the girl wanted to join the club while being afraid of the sea?”
“She wasn’t afraid of the sea, she even really liked going to the beach. But once she was on the board in the rolling waves, she started to lose her nerve and realized that the sea itself could be dangerous.”
“It’s sad for her, she didn’t last long then.”
“She stayed at the club for two weeks, the senpais told her they would take the time to help her conquer her fear if she was serious about getting involved in the club, but she chose another activity instead.”
“Um, I see… What about the boy?”
“For him, it was slightly different, at first he enjoyed surfing he stayed almost three months in the club. He was looking for an approach to the marine world, but he didn’t find his groove in surfing after three months and thanked us for teaching him how to do it and went to the diving club on the advice of our senpais.”
“Heee~ I thought sports clubs were a lot stricter than this.”
“Meaning Sophie?”
“My image of sports clubs may be biased, but since I know that the performance of sports clubs is very important to the allocation of budgets each year, I expected it to be harsher on people who come into clubs without real investment.”

“Um… I know what you mean, but it doesn’t work that way. At least for the surf club, it’s not. People have the right to take the wrong course or have sudden urges to discover new things, just as they have the right to reverse their decision.”
“It’s so beautiful what you say Aya, it brings tears to my eyes…”
“Haha, I only speak for the case of the surf club, I have no idea how the others work. On the other hand, senpais indeed tend to focus more on promising recruits because as Sophie says, results and performances greatly influence budgets.”
“It’s a competitive world.”
“Exactly. Going back to what we were saying originally, you don’t have to think about your final club Rina. Feel free to start with the club that most instinctively attracts you and do a trial period.”
“Um… I see, thanks for the advice.”
“Also Rina-chan, there is another alternative, that would be to start your own club.”
“…”
…
“Hmm? Did I say something weird?”
“Here’s a bold proposal from our little Sophie.”
“Mo~ Aya-chan! I’m just thinking that this might be a good alternative if Rina-chan doesn’t find a club to her liking.”
“Indeed, this is also a solution, but it’s not easy to create a club from scratch.”
“What do you think Rina-chan?”
“…”
“Rina-chan?”
“…”
“I think Rina.exe has stopped working.”
“Oyé Rina!”
“Huh? What?”
“Did your conscience get sucked out?”
“No, it’s just that I tried to imagine a little bit what it would be like to have a club with me as president, but I think I went too far in my imagination.”
“Knowing you, I’m sure you must have made a zany mix of everything we’ve seen today plus added in everything you like.”
“That’s… almost right.”
“Haha, let’s keep the idea of starting your own club as a last resort then. For now, let’s see what’s already available to us first.”
“I agree, especially since now I might get to meet PekkoMekko, Meguri, and Nonoro-sensei.”
“Fingers crossed, Rina-chan.”

The Shards of Sylvia's Soul
In the little village of Nyberg, Sylvia is dreaming of a future with Rebecca at her side. Together, they could move overseas. But when bandits attack, all of her tender dreams turn to ashes. Forced out of her home, Sylvia forges new bonds with the Fri, the women who have taken it upon themselves to protect their little corner of the world. She also meets Afi, a strange bandit with a stern face and a soft heart. Saving each other from certain demise, they join in a bond which irreversibly ties their souls together. So bonded, they attempt to settle down. When a distant heir to the Crown asks for aid to reunite the country, Sylvia sees her chance to finally right all the wrongs committed against her family. In the pursuit of the throne, Afi and Sylvia come to risk their very lives. Sylvia uncovers the relationship between soul, magic, and divinity itself, but even in research, there is peril. It is not an easy task to balance the strain on her soul with the demands of the upcoming battle. In this world, the soul is not an incorporeal concept. To the contrary, the human soul is a physical object, an organ which resides in the chest of each individual. It is a great source of strength, but also of vulnerability. Hardship can leave scratches and blemishes, or even break the soul in two. The soul is each person's connection to divinity, to the magic which is ubiquitous to the world. It enables the cultivation of gods, but old legends warn of demons emerging in the presence of corrupt intention, and of hollow warriors, with no soul at all. There are two sides to every page. 8 215Reality's Gate: Stealing The Gifts Of The Gods
One day, earth managed to create an alternate Reality Gate. However, it malfunctioned, molding our reality with the other. In this, it became commonplace to jump between worlds, create magical wonders, destroy and create with but a whim. The biggest change though came from something that was truly unique: The "gifts" given at birth. These "Gifts" given by the gods of that reality were now bestowed upon our Reality as well. Yet, there was one person who wasn't given a gift. And in a last ditch effort of The Anomalous One to fight the gods gave him a gift since the gods wouldn't. Though it was a gift for him, it was a curse for others... This is a story about The Successor of the Ouroboros, who was given the gift of thievery, the gift of taking what the gods give to others and using it for his own purposes. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is not a good guy's story. This is someone filled with hate. This is someone who wants revenge against the gods who didn't give him a gift. This. Is. The. Anti-hero. Of. Anti-heroes. 8 89Raven-Hold Rising: Trail of Thorns
Alex has died again and due to a deal apparently made many deaths ago, he gets to be reincarnated into a new world with his memory intact. He is quickly transported to the tiny nowhere town of Oxbow while it is under attack by goblins. Alex must learn to navigate his way through a fantasy world if he is to survive, and navigate the vague gamelike mechanics if he wants to thrive. Is it the things he does that affects his character sheet, or his character sheet that affects the things he can do? This is a soft LitRPG Isekai. By that I mean, the MC is technically from our world, and RPG system lacks crunch. MC will never become over powered, and should fail... alot.

If you’re reading this. Not cool Dude! Or Dudette. Hashtag Resist. Seriously though, it’s not nice to read other people's diaries. Yes, it's a diary, kind of. The only men who call their diaries journals have an issue with their own masculinity I think. Well, I guess I can’t be too angry, considering if this is in anyone else’s hands I’m probably dead. Or I lost it. I lose stuff a lot. Since you’re here, regardless of the reason, I guess I’ll tell my story, such as it is. I know, why tell my story when I could tell you about the Fall of Killianor, or the story of when Micha the Bold banded together with his underdog group of misfits to destroy the Pallantine Regime. Hell, even the tale of Tulsa and Gran’s star crossed love affair would probably be better. If you don’t think so after finishing this you more than likely have poor taste. Weird taste, at any rate. Hello RR! Welcome to the greatest work of fiction you will ever read! ... .... Did you believe that? Cause its not. At all. This is my first work that I will have published in any fashion, and to be completely honest is more to gain practice for my real story. That is not to say I do not care about it. I do. I will do my best to finish it in, if not satisying, at least a conclusive manner. I will warn you however that updates will be infrequent at best though chapter length will not be under 2000 words. I work third shift currently, and at over 40 hours a week I do not have much time to really devote to this at the moment. I DO have an outline for the novel complete, but currently only about 5 actual chapters written and edited. There will be mistakes, including grammar and continuity, plot holes, etc.. If you see these please either comment or feel free to message me directly, and I will get it updated asap. Aside from a fledgeling authors mishaps, expect to find a somewhat comedic slice of life, with a mish mash of xianxia and western fantasy themes, tropes and the like. There will be some gore, network tv levels of sexuality, and absolutely no harems. There will also be COPIUS amount of swearing and drug use and while I said there would be no harems already he may find people in polyamorous situations. I hope you enjoy this, and as a last aside I beg of you not to rate it super low without justification, and if you give a bad rating please leave an actual review so that i know what I need to work on. *Original cover as of 09/01/20. Mishmash of stock photos and edits. HAVE FUN!
