Laconic (adjective): expressing much in a few words

“What have you seen?”

The reader asked the bird of green.

With ruffled feathers it pondered and thought,

I’ve seen much, but of all my wings have sought.

The bird considered the stories it told:

Tales of creatures young and old,

minds of diamond, hearts of gold,

passions burning, uncontrolled.

Over the days it flew alone,

a quiet narrator who remained unknown.

Perhaps it would find home one day,

but the quest for knowledge was underway.

Through rain and storm and sunny skies,

with a promise to witness unheard cries.

It bore their countless hopes and dreams in mind,

a tribute to fates intertwined.

And so it told the reader with proudly raised wings,

“Just several beautiful things.”
