"I think it's this way," he said, before storming off in the midst of tall, dark trees. You looked around you to see no sign of life anywhere. Deep down, you had mixed feelings upon this mad scientist that you found on your journey. Sometimes he was sweet and other times extremely arrogant. He was handsome, so you tried to put up with him.

You clutched your bag to your shoulder before running as fast as your heels can take you. A large evening breeze picking up making you chilled to the bone. You followed his path before finding him staring in your direction with a sheer look of panic in his eyes. Once you looked into his deep brown eyes, he quickly looked away and stood a little taller.

"I knew you'd follow." He said with a small smirk. You rolled your eyes before catching up to him.

"There, there's a cave," he pointed, "tomorrow we can continue." He approached the cave and began getting out his sleeping bag.

How did you get stuck in this situation? You lost your traveling party and began walking into a forest on your own when you spotted another solo traveler walking a little ways ahead. He wore all black all the way down to his shoes. He had stopped walking and looked back at you. The sudden attention caused your heart to beat faster and your hands began to sweat.

You eventually caught up to him and formally introduced yourself as did he. He was Dr. Jonathan Willoway, a scientist traveling from the 1960's. He was quite charming. Would occasionally crack a joke and certainly flirt with you. He told you all about himself and would ask you questions about your background. It was nice, it was great, actually. Suddenly though that all changed. Something in him changed and you didn't know what. He was still flirty every once in a while, but he had a tendency of keeping to himself and had a little bit of an arrogant streak.

You leaned down to enter the low height of the cave. Jonathan had his light on. He was sitting on top of his sleeping bag, now without his black leather jacket on. He was leaned up on his hands with his legs stretched out. He was watching you intently.

You kneeled down on the dry dirt patch while you undid your sleeping bag before taking off your heels and getting under the thin cover. You thought he looked away by now but he didn't. He saw you shiver and grabbed his jacket and wrapped it around you, to your surprise.

"Thanks." You smiled, taking the jacket and relaxing in the warmth. It smelled like his cologne; musky. You found yourself in a daze. He laid there and looked at you wearing his jacket. He thought it looked good on you, and he liked the idea of you wearing his clothes.

"I'm sorry that I haven't been the best companion lately." He laid down in his sleeping bag with his hands on his stomach. He was looking up at the dark roof of the cave.

"Its okay. But did I do something wrong? In the beginning we were getting along swell, and something just changed."

"You didn't do anything wrong. I did. I've been away from humans for so long I forgot how to interact. Especially with a beautiful woman." He chuckled. You rolled to your side.

"You think I'm beautiful?" He nodded shyly.

"The most beautiful woman I've ever seen."

The blush on your cheeks was unmistakable. Thank goodness it was dark, you thought. You faced him, taking in his composed posture. He really was a very handsome man.

"For the record I think you're pretty handsome yourself." Now it was his turn to look over.

He reached for the zipper on his sleeping bag and scooted over as much as he could. Silently inviting you to lay with him. You couldn't resist.

You laid down next to him on your side. He instinctively wrapped an arm around your waist and held you to his chest.

"I'm not letting you get away, not this time." He whispered while nuzzling his head into your neck. His warm breath causing goosebumps to arise. You'd never been this close to a man before, and you didn't want it to end.

"Don't let me go."

You cuddled as far as you could to him and he just held you tighter. It was this moment you really knew him. He let his guard down and showed you his vulnerability and you loved him for it. You knew in that sleeping bag that was the man you wanted for the rest of your time.
