Chapter 119 – Epilogue

In the white void, an endless ocean of black tar stretched in every direction. Undisturbed, the flat blackness held a power, chained in place for millennia. Unchanging, static, the ocean and the void were frozen in place, untouched by the passage of time.

Until, one day, the white void was broken. From the sky above, it was pierced by an object of immense size, the white void fleeing from the approaching celestial body.

The Black Moon slowly covered the heavens of this place, driving back the white nothingness and creating ripples and waves in the ocean. The tar-like waters began to bubble and boil, the creature below stirring as its chains loosened.

From deep beneath, a pair of eyes opened, its power gathered around it. A storm raged on the ocean’s surface, the Black Moon’s presence disrupting the prison surrounding it.

With a roar, a geyser of black tar shot out from the ocean, followed by another. The boiling tar of the ocean formed into a vortex, a massive whirlpool, with the Black Moon hanging over its center.

In the center of the Azure Ocean, a storm raged over a portal leading to another world. A gateway to a prison, the vortex spun around the sealed portal, the ocean’s pressure forcing it closed.

Night came upon the maelstrom, the Black Moon slowly dominating the sky. With the black void overhead, the storm slowed, the spinning vortex calming.

The portal, sealed for millennia, loosened its seal. From the depths of the ocean, the roar of a Dragon shook the sea, splitting the sky with its power, stilling the storm.

The crack in reality slowly widened, a bubbling tar seeped out, staining the ocean black with its corruption.

From the black void beyond the heavens, The Other floated in the darkness. A writhing mass of tentacles, its single white eye was fixed on a barrier. The cold nothingness of the void pressed against the shimmering barrier of the Aether.

It searched for a weakness, a way in, to end the life contained within the barrier. For countless eons it waited, always seeking, filled with hunger.

Finally, what it sought appeared, a crack, a way in. With endless patience, it waited for the opening to grow, the barrier to weaken. The Dark That Waits. Its time approached.
