《Heaven Warrior》~ 018

"Call me or y'all daddy when the game gets in fourth quarter, so y'all won't be just standing out here." Heaven instructed, pulling into the middle school parking lot. Daloni and Nevaeh had both convinced their parents to let them go to one of the basketball games at their school. They both agreed, being that the kids never really went out with their friends.
"Yes ma'am." They both replied, unbuckling their seatbelts.
"How much money y'all got?" Heaven asked, putting the car in park. She started looking around the parking lot, seeing a lot of children just hanging around. She just hoped and prayed that her kids would be protected.
"I got sixty in cash." Nevaeh nodded. "Or should I just take my card?"
"I got fifty." Daloni replied.
"I'm sure the concession stands only take cash so just give me your cards until y'all get back home. Y'all don't need to go crazy either spending that money." Heaven responded.
Both kids nodded their head, tucking their money away in their phone cases. Nevaeh handed her card over before both kids finally got out of the car. They both stood at the driver's window waiting for their mother's familiar speech.
"Don't be out here acting like y'all ain't got no home training. Y'all need to stay together or at least stay close by to one another. If things start to get rowdy, call me. I love y'all and be safe."
"I love you too." Both kids replied in unison. Heaven watched as both of them disappeared into the school building, slightly smiling to herself. Sometimes she couldn't believe that she was a mother to four kids.
"Mommy that ain't fair. I wanted to go too." Zaloni mugged, climbing in the front seat. He had begged Heaven to let him tag along with his brother and sister, but she was stern on telling him no. She wanted Daloni and Nevaeh to have fun, rather then them babysitting their little brother.
"You're still a little too young Loni." She chuckled, starting to drive again.
Zaloni crossed his arms over his chest, mugging the dashboard. "You don't ever let me do nothing. I always got to be with Zuri the crybaby."
"Stop calling her that, and I'm not gone tell you nomore. Next time I hear you calling her that, I'm gone whoop your ass, do you understand me?" Heaven frowned, looking in the rearview mirror at Zuri who was thankfully still asleep.
"Yes ma'am." He mumbled.
She knew that it was likely for siblings to call each other names, but she hated when they called Zuri a crybaby. The word triggered her even more after finding out that her daughter was dealing with severe separation anxiety and selective mutism.
~
the same night...
"Let's get ma ma in trouble." Papa smirked, looking at Zuri who was quietly playing with her baby dolls. He was trying to get her back from the time she snitched on him for cussing while playing on the game.
"Yeah let's do it." Zaloni happily agreed, rubbing his hands together. He was always on board with whatever with his big brother, Daloni. They were really best friends at the hip.
"Y'all literally have no life." Nevaeh shook her head, looking down at her phone. They were all in the living room laying around, waiting for dinner to be ready.
"Shut up." Papa frowned.
Papa picked up the remote that went to the TV going to the YouTube app. He figured this would be the perfect way to get Zuri in trouble by both of their parents. Everyone knew that Heaven or Zylin didn't play about their TV's.

He typed in 'Broken TV Screen Prank' selecting the one that looked realistic. After he was satisfied with the setup, he walked over to Zuri to stir up trouble.
He snatched the baby dolls out of her hand, making her look up at him. "Papa give me." She frowned, reaching her arms out for her toys. She was completely blind to the fact that that the TV was "broken."
"Papa give me." Zaloni mocked, snatching her coloring books from her mini table.
"What is y'all doing? Give her, her stuff back." Nevaeh mugged, locking her phone.
"Shut up dooda. Look ma ma, I'm gone rip your doll head off." Papa smirked, holding her favorite baby doll by the neck. He watched as Zuri's lips trembled, knowing that she was about to start crying.
"Give me Papa!" She shouted, finally standing to her feet.
"Nope." He shook his head, running off slinging the doll by her hair. Zuri wiped her face, running behind him and Zaloni. She was trying to keep up with the both of them, but failed miserably.
"I'm telling daddy." Zuri cried.
"What's wrong with her?!" Heaven shouted from the kitchen, hearing Zuri's cries. If it was one thing she knew like the back of her hand, was all of her kids cries.
"They up in here messing with her!" Nevaeh yelled back. "Mama I'm about to go help SoSo get the groceries and baby Lai out the car." She added, seeing that Solana had asked for her help.
"Give me my doll!" Zuri frustratedly cried.
Daloni smirked using all of his strength to rip the doll's head off of the body. He threw the doll at Zuri's feet, knowing that it was about to anger her. "There you go."
"Meanie! I don't want it!" She shouted, throwing the doll at Papa. Unfortunately she missed, making the doll hit the large 75 inch TV plastered on the wall. Once she noticed the screen, her heart dropped to her feet.
"Mama, Ma Ma broke the TV!" Zaloni yelled, pointing at Zuri. As soon as Heaven heard those words, she stopped everything and stomped to the living room.
"I know you're fucking lying!" She mugged, looking at the TV screen.
"Ma Ma did it, she threw her doll at it." Papa pointed.
Zuri stood in the corner, as her lips trembled. "I-I didn't mean to." She stuttered, shaking her head.
"Yes you did. You tried to hit me with your ugly baby doll." Papa frowned, trying to hold in his laughs at Zuri's facial expressions.
"What did I tell you about throwing stuff Zuri?! This isn't the first time you threw your toys somewhere. Bring your ass over here!" Heaven mugged, pointing to the space in front of her. Zuri cried, as she walked to her mother. She hated getting in trouble, especially by Heaven.
"I-I didn't mean to mommy." Zuri sobbed.
"Now mama you know she crying like that so you won't give her a whooping. Always doing too much." Zaloni pointed out.
"Now why did you throw it?" Heaven asked, bending down to Zuri's level wiping her face for her. As soon as Zuri was about to explain herself, the door opened revealing Nevaeh, Solai, and Solana.
"What's wrong ma ma?" Solana pouted.
"I-I broke the TV." Zuri cried, pointing to the TV that she was so sure that she had broken.
"No you didn't. That's fake." Nevaeh chuckled, dropping the grocery bags on the kitchen island. "Papa and Loni pulled up a fake screen and taunted her."

Papa and Zaloni both mugged Nevaeh.
"Oh really?" Heaven asked, standing back to her normal height. "Boys is that true? Because if it is, y'all might as well gone head and put the PS5 on my bed."
Papa smacked his lips. "Man Nevaeh you always ruining the fun. It was just a jokey joke, but you always want to play superwoman on some hero junk."
"Y'all are so wrong for that." Solana chuckled, shaking her head. She wasn't suprised at all to hear that Papa and Zaloni were behind the whole thing. She was used to them and their playful tactics.
"That's not funny though." Nevaeh shrugged. "Y'all stay messing with her."
"Put the game system, the controllers, and the headphones on my bed. I told y'all about messing with one another. Y'all was really about to watch her get a whooping for something that y'all did." Heaven frowned. "That's okay, because I got something for y'all."
"Stop crying ma ma, you're not in trouble." Heaven sighed, picking Zuri up. "But you still don't throw things, okay?"
"Yes ma'am." Zuri nodded.
"It ain't even fair." Daloni mugged, stomping to the game room to grab all of the gaming systems to put in his parents room. Zaloni walked behind him without a care in the world that he had just gotten in trouble.
~
"What we do now?" Nevaeh asked, sitting down next to her brothers throwing a blanket over her body. They had all just finished dinner and Heaven and Zylin decided to have a family meeting with everyone.
"Nothing, we just wanted to check in with everybody and let y'all know some things too." Zylin shrugged, putting Heaven's feet in his lap.
"So how's everybody doing? How's school, and how's life for you guys right now?" Heaven asked. She felt
like family check-ins were very important to see how her kids were doing in school and how their mental health was doing.
"Well I'm doing good. School is getting on my last nerve, but other than that I really can't complain. I plan on trying out for the volleyball team with Angel next year." Nevaeh started off.
"Okay then, what's some of your other goals? And what you think you can improve on?" Heaven asked, holding her arms out for Zuri who had just woken up from her nap. Sometimes Heaven would let her take a nap before dinner, because it always made Zuri sleepier for when she went to sleep for the rest of the night.
"One of my goals is to join the yearbook club and get a job at Publix when I'm of age." Nevaeh nodded. "I think I can improve on my attitude and my temper."
"That's solid. You can improve on them things, it's gone take time but it'll happen. You just got to find a way to cope with your anger in a positive way. It's hard, but we'll help you through it." Heaven smiled. She was glad that Nevaeh was the oldest out of her kids. It was clear that Nevaeh had her head on the right path, and was a great example for her younger siblings.
"Well I'm doing good too and my grades good. I got all A's and my teacher said that she want me to join the kid's tutoring board. It's when kids at the school help tutor the other kids in they worst subject." Daloni nodded, putting his feet in Nevaeh's lap. Nevaeh mugged him hard, before thinking about what her mom had just told her.
"You make me sick, why would you put your stanky feet on me? I should slap you, you know I don't like feet." Nevaeh mugged, on a rant.
"Papa get your feet off her." Zylin chuckled, shaking his head.
"Yeah I told you about doing that." Heaven shook her head. "Anyways that's really good papa, are you going to join it? I think it'll be good for future high schools and even colleges."
"Yeah, but if those kids act dumb foreal I'm gone quit." Daloni nodded.
"Yo papa, you gotta chill." Zylin burst out in laughter. "What yo li bad ass feel like you can improve on at the moment?"
"I feel like I can improve on the way I say things, but people just be acting dumb for no reason." Daloni shrugged, finally taking his feet off of Nevaeh's lap.
"We definitely gotta work on your delivery." Heaven sighed, before she chuckled. Daloni had came a long way with his bluntness, but Heaven knew that being blunt was just one of Daloni's personality traits.
"What about you Zaloni?" Heaven asked, turning her attention to her younger son.
"I can do my chores better." Zaloni nodded. "And giving my girlfriend more gifts." He added, making Heaven choke on her spit.
"I'll help you with the girlfriend thing." Zylin smirked, egging his son on. Zaloni had been in five little relationships the whole school year, and Zylin was the only one who took him serious.
"Loni I'm not even about to engage in your relationship life, because it's non-existent." Heaven chuckled. "Seven years old talking about a girlfriend, your girlfriend need to be them grades."
"My grades good, I got B's." Zaloni shrugged.
"Okay, well do you want to join anything at school or in our community?" Heaven asked.
"Yeah the football team, because my girlfriend a cheerleader." He nodded, making the whole family laugh at him. Zaloni was definitely the child that kept everyone laughing. He could make anyone smile just by walking in the room.
"Okay baby." Heaven nodded.
"Ma Ma turn." Daloni said, making Zuri shake her head.
"Ma Ma what do you want to improve on?" Zylin asked. Zuri was a little behind in comprehending things, and sometimes she didn't understand what was being said around her.
Everyone waited for Zuri to answer, but Zuri only buried her head in Heaven's neck. She genuinely didn't understand the word "improve."
Zylin thought about how he phrased the sentence and decided to rephrase it. "Do you want to be better at cleaning your room?" He asked.
"Yeah daddy. I want to clean my room gooder." Zuri replied, almost instantly.
"Gooder isn't a word baby. It's better, okay?" Heaven spoke to her.
"Better." Zuri nodded.
"So we've been meaning to talk to you guys about what's going on with Ma Ma." Heaven started off, getting all of her kid's attention. Even though they all fussed and argued, they loved each other with everything within them.
"She okay?" Nevaeh asked.
"She's going to be just fine. Ma Ma just suffers from severe separation anxiety and selective mustism. It just means that it's hard for her not to be near me or your dad. It makes her nervous, and it scares her if she's away from us." Heaven explained, in simple terms. "When she's in public she looses the ability to talk to others or even to us. It's nothing against us, it's just how her anxiety is set up."
"That's why she cry so much?" Zaloni genuinely asked.
"Yes, that's why I tell y'all to stop calling her a crybaby. She's dealing with something she really can't control. We're getting her some professional counseling, so hopefully it's help." Heaven nodded.
"Well now I need to have a talk with Marissa, because she was basically bullying my sister." Nevaeh mugged.
"Dooda we're getting all of that handled. You just continue protecting her when we're not around. All of y'all need to protect each other. At the end of the day it's us against the world." Zylin spoke up.
"Y'all don't have to look sad." Heaven chuckled, looking at the uneasy expressions on her kids face. "Ma Ma will be fine."
"I just feel bad for making fun of her when I was supposed to be protecting her." Daloni mumbled, running his hand across his neck.
"Papa siblings are always going to mess with each other. I promise you're okay. She's okay. You do a good job protecting all of your siblings, okay?"
"Yes ma'am." He nodded, looking at Zuri who was staring off into space.
"Zuri go give your brothers and sister a hug." Heaven whispered, putting Zuri to her feet. Zuri ran to all of her siblings with open arms. They all engulfed her in a big hug, before falling on the floor together.
"I think we're doing a damn good job." Heaven nudged Zylin, seeing the kids play fighting on the floor.
"We is. I wouldn't want to do it with anybody, but you." Zylin replied, holding Heaven's chin in his hand. He thanked Jayda almost everyday for introducing him to Heaven. He would've never thought he'd be married with four beautiful kids.
"I love you mama." Zylin mumbled, before softly kissing Heaven's lip. Heaven instantly melted under his touch, using her hand to rest on the side of his face.
"I love you too Zylin." She breathed out, pulling back and looking into his eyes.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
