It felt like I woke up but not completely. I still felt bed that I was lying in but there was nothing else around me… just empty black space.
[ Loki ]

“What chance?! What are you talking about?!”

“Don’t you remember your big promise?”

“To your sweet puppy… that’s who!”

“What do you mean…”

“I showed you who the killer is…”

“You mean… He is one of the Riglids?!”
[ Loki ]

[ Eric ]
“No?”
[ Loki ]
“He was only hiding his identity as Riglid and you missed it. In that moment when your mark began to burn he’s done the same.”
[ Eric ]
“He was also blessed by a god!?”
[ Loki ]
“Yes. Your target is another person from your world.”
[ Eric ]
“So he also has powers of a god… But he was so weak when I fought him.”
[ Loki ]
“He was just acting and hiding his power… Since he might be stronger than you I’ll give you a ‘reward’ for finding him.”
[ Eric ]
“You mean a blessing? But why do you want to help me?”
[ Loki ]
“It’s not about amusement anymore… That god was supposed to be dead and yet… She has a servant in Asgard. Let’s say it’s a personal matter of mine now too. I’ll give you two blessings. One will be your mark itching when you’re close to that guy or any servant of that goddess and second… hmm… I have no idea!”
[ Eric ]
“What?!”
[ Loki ]

“Let’s spin the wheel! It’s your chance to get an attack spell!”
[ Eric ]
“Fine… Just show me the wheel.”
In front of my bed appeared a giant fortune wheel it was five times bigger than me and there were more than a hundred possibilities. Now I kind of understand why he didn’t know what to choose… There are so many and…
[ Eric ]
“How am I supposed to spin this wheel!? It’s gigantic!”
[ Loki ]
“Fine… I’ll make it smaller…” Said Loki with some kind of disgust in his voice like a little kid.
[ Eric ]
“Please give me something good…” Last time I was excited to get new power but this time I’m stressed. This will decide how much it will help me against that guy… The wheel moved slower and slower and finally, ticks were heard every few seconds and then it stopped.
[ Loki ]
“Set In Motion.”
[ Eric ]
“What’s that?”
[ Loki ]
“It’s a weird ability but useful. It makes it possible to do two attacks at the same time with one weapon. Imagine getting ready to make strike the enemy’s head with a sword and then switching to a stabbing. Your real body will go for stabbing but at the same time, your power will make strike his head.”
[ Eric ]
“Mhm… Kind of complex but I get it… So I can do two attacks at the same time.”
[ Loki ]
“You? No, you can’t.”
[ Eric ]
“But you said!”
[ Loki ]
“I said how experienced warrior with a good grasp of weapons can do… You can only make your attacks faster.”
[ Eric ]
“Could say that earlier…”
[ Loki ]
“Ok… BYE!”

“Bye?”
Suddenly my bed and I began to fall but there was nothing around just empty space. I was coming close to hitting something bright but when I hit it I immediately woke up. I looked around and I was in the room in the building next to those barracks. Skyge was sleeping on my lap but he was woken up by me.
[ Skyge ]
“You’re back master…” Said sleepy Skyge.
[ Eric ]
“What do you mean back?”
[ Skyge ]
“Well… I mean you came back from where you were…”
[ Eric ]
“Huh?”
[ Skyge ]
“Your body was here but your mind left somewhere…”
[ Eric ]
“You can tell that?”
[ Skyge ]
“I’m your bond so… Yes… I felt that… Did something happen when you were away?”
[ Eric ]
“Nothing you should worry about…” I said as I slowly pet Skyge.

His dreams filled with nightmares of the ones he failed to protect, mind and memories clouded by booze and more, Mark finds himself stumbling through life without purpose or desire. Life isn't done with Mark yet, however. For as long as even a single ember remains in a persons heart, here is still yet hope for the flames of Passion and Hope to be Rekindled. When the dying embers of Mark's heart catches the eyes of a Being far beyond his understanding, Mark finds himself thrown into a situation not even his years of training could prepare him for. Will this new chance be Mark's hope at both Redemption and Recompense? Or will it simply be the final nail in the coffin for a man already dead to the World? [This is a rework of my very first story. The general story will remain the same, however a few details have been tweaked, the chapters have be Edited better and some chapters have been broken down into smaller chunks for better flow and consistency. The biggest change will be to the System itself; It will be a lot less "Game-like", meaning no stats, levels or similar aspect, though skills will still be present in the form of "Programs". Instead, It'll focus more on the Sigil's nature as super-computers and how they change the world around them. This should make for a much more "natural" and less info-dumpy system.
