《Once Upon a Time in a Foreign Land》Chapter 179 : Nangong Yiren

Without wasting any time, they set off. The business friend of their neighbor was walking with such steady steps. Jingdu Xiumin's age was roughly the same as Zhanji Xuande. He seemed perfectly healthy.
"Is your friend really not using a driver?" Yixiong asked Xuande Zhanji. Their car was right behind Jingdu Xiumin's car.
"He has a driver, but indeed, he often prefers to drive his car. So I think the driver is often has nothing to do." Xuande Zhanji laughed.
The warehouse they were going to be was not too far from Jingdu Xiumin's house. In less than fifteen minutes, they were there. The location was still in the city, but the atmosphere in that place differed from the atmosphere in other places in this city. The atmosphere in the place was quiet, like outside the city. It was the first time Yiren had explored an area in this city that was still quiet. The other areas of the city were all densely populated.
The car they were traveling in entered the fence of a warehouse complex. After arriving at the yard of the warehouse complex, they could clearly see the place. It turned out to be an enormous warehouse. Not only that, there were a total of three buildings that were used as warehouses. Jingdu Xiumin immediately led them into one of the warehouse buildings.
"All kinds of bags are stored in this warehouse." Jingdu Xiumin said proudly when they were already inside one of the warehouses. Xuande Zhanji's friend called one of his employees right away. Yixiong showed the employee the photo of the bag.
"Bags like this still exist. But the exact blue color looks like it's out of stock," said the clerk at the warehouse.
"Shall we check first?" Xuande Zhanji proposal.
They all then walked to the part of the warehouse where such bags were stored. After unpacking all the bags that were there, they did not find a bag that was exactly like the one in the photo. Just like what the employee said, there were still many bags of the same shape and size as the one in the photo, but in different colors.
Yixiong looked down languidly. Yiren didn't know what to say. It meant they had to go around the city looking for a bag like that.

"Earlier you said that today there will be a shipment of goods," Xuande Zhanji said to Jingdu Xiumin.
"Yes! It's true. According to the schedule, the goods will arrive after half-past twelve."
"Is there a bag like this among those things?" Yixiong asked.
Jingdu Xiumin turned to the warehouse clerk.
"Wait a minute, Sir! I'll check first," said the warehouse employee. He then disappeared outside the warehouse building.
"Where did he go?" Yiren asked.
"We keep records of goods entering and leaving the warehouse in other building," Jingdu Xiumin replied.
Earlier, they saw that apart from the three warehouses, there was a house located some distance away on the right. Yiren suspected they stored the records in the house.
"What if we all just head over there?" Xuande said Zhanji.
Jingdu Xiumin then guided them to the house where the records of goods entering and leaving the warehouse were kept. When they got there, Jingdu Xiumin's employee, who had accompanied them in the warehouse, was still busy collecting the files.
"Ah! Here it is!" The warehouse clerk cheered.
The warehouse clerk brought a piece of paper in front of them. He showed the contents of the sheet of paper.
"That's right, there will be a bag delivery like what you are looking for. There are eight colors in total, including blue as you want."
The warehouse clerk's words really relieved Yiren and Yixiong.
"That means we just have to wait until the goods arrive," said Xuande Zhanji.
"It's just that usually the arrival time of the goods is not exactly the same as in the schedule. It usually arrives between half to an hour late," said Jingdu Xiumin. "In fact, if I remember correctly, at that time, they were up to four hours late." Jingdu Xiumin looked at his clerk.
The clerk nodded.
"It's all right, Sir!" Yixiong said. "We'll wait for them."
Yiren was relieved. Just like yesterday, the handover process for the ransom would take place after dark. So they still had enough time.
"I'm sorry, gentlemen," said Jingdu Xiumin. "Right now, I have to talk to Mr. Xuande for a while about business matters. So I can't accompany you, gentlemen."
"It's all right, Sir!" Yixiong said. We can take a walk around here first."

Yixiong then took Yiren out of the building.
"Where are we going?" Yiren asked.
"This morning I was in a rush, so I only ate a little. After all, we only ate leftover pizza last night. So at this hour I'm hungry again," Yixiong replied.
Yiren laughed at Yixiong's words.
"You know what I mean," Yixiong said.
"Let's find a small shop or restaurant," said Yiren. "The goods will arrive at maybe twelve or even one o'clock. So we can go around the area first."
The two of them then exited the warehouse complex. After walking about three hundred meters, they saw a stall selling food.
"How about we just eat there?" Yiren asked.
"What food do they sell?"
"I don't know. Let's get closer so we can see more clearly," answered Yiren.
It turned out the shop only sold snacks. Yiren and Yixiong had to walk again to find a place to satisfy their hunger. They walk again. This time it was even further, about five hundred meters. Maybe further than that because they met a few turns. They cheered when they found a quite large restaurant. With light steps, the two of them immediately approached the place.
"Do you remember the way back to the warehouse earlier?" Yixiong asked suddenly.
Yiren flinched at the question.
"I don't forget, but maybe not a hundred percent remember," said Yiren. "Does Xiongge not remember either?"
"Well? Then how are we going to get back there?"
"Never mind! That's a matter for later. What's important now is that we eat first," said Yiren.
They then entered the restaurant. They sat down at a table in the corner. Beside them was an immense window. Yiren and Yixiong could see out of the window.
The waiter came and brought them the list of food. At that time, the atmosphere of the restaurant was still quiet. Only the two of them were there. After they finished ordering their food, they waited quietly at the table.
"This area is very quiet. Don't you think they have nothing to lose by opening a restaurant as large as this one here?" Yixiong said.
Yiren agreed with Yixiong. Even at lunchtime, he predicted the place wouldn't be too crowded either.
"But we don't know about this area yet. Maybe there are factories or other places of business around here," said Yiren.
"I don't think factory workers eat in restaurants like this," Yixiong said.
Less than five minutes later, their entire order had arrived. They eat voraciously. Yixiong even ordered another serving of rice. Yiren laughed at seeing Yixiong. Yixiong seemed so starving.
After they finished eating, they didn't go anywhere. It was still early, not even eleven o'clock. Because they were full, they were lazy to walk everywhere. After paying for the food, they decided to sit there for a while.
"I'm sleepy now," Yixiong said. "How about you?"
"I'm also a little sleepy," replied Yiren. "But I don't eat as much as Xiongge, so I'm not as sleepy as Xiongge."
"Then I'll sleep here for a bit. You'll wake me up when it's twelve." After saying that, Yixiong laid his head on the table straight away.
Yiren looked out the window that was right beside him. It was not like before. Now the streets were getting crowded. Yiren did not know what caused it. He observed the people and vehicles that passed that road. Ten minutes later, he was bored. A feeling of drowsiness began to creep over him. But Yiren couldn't sleep. If the two of them slept there until the afternoon, then there would be trouble. So by holding back the drowsiness, Yiren kept trying to observe the scenery outside the window.
Suddenly, Yiren felt like he was electrocuted. There was something out there that he didn't expect at all.
"Xiongge, Xiongge! Let's wake up!" Yiren shouted while shaking Yixiong's body.
Yixiong raised his head. He opened his eyes. "Why are you shouting? Is it twelve o'clock now? It's only been a flash!"
"Look at that!" Yiren said, still in a loud voice. He pointed across the street.
Yixiong directed his gaze in the direction indicated by Yiren. At first, he didn't react. But then he started rubbing his eyes. It was as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"What is Dage doing there?" Yixiong spoke softly.
Across the street stood a figure. A figure that was very similar to Duanmu Shanquan.

Beneath No Sky: Chronicles of the Atmospheric Sector
After bringing themselves back from the brink of annihilation, humanity's future seemed bleak. However, it's remnants, throwing aside the old order and donning a new mantle of progress aimed to rise above their ancient disputes and go forward as one. Once the Earth reached it's natural limit, and colonies around Terra and Luna had shown promising results, humanity finally decided to make the move to the stars. Believing this to be the start of a new age, they eagerly poured across the solar system and further beyond, greeting what space had to offer with hope and optimism. It was misplaced, however, for humanity's traditional quarrels soon resurfaced and engulfed a now interplanetary empire of many races. As the Earth Empire burned and an intense depression overtook the once optimistic people, some held out hope. They theorized that their problems were born of an inherent sense of home and, in order to rid humanity, now comprising of the Terrans as well as all the other known species of the galaxy, of this burden, decided to move far away from civilized space, into uncharted depths, to start anew. Some 200 years have passed since then, and those hopeful ones have finally found a place to settle on. Firmly planting their flag in paradise, they called this untouched land "Eden" and declared the beginning of a true new age, the age of After Eden.Trouble, however, seemed to still be hounding them, as barely three years after its founding, Eden finds itself at war with a seemingly uncommunicative and uncompromising enemy that far outclasses the odd pirates they were used to facing. A new era of peace, marked by an immediate conflict. Time will tell if Eden, the Grand Experiment, truly is as great as it's supposed to be. ---------------------------------------- This is a sci-fi, character driven, military space drama. This is book one. Rick West, a wounded Marine with a very unique past is transported, with a significant portion of Earth's population, to a new universe. One that is shattered and yet to coalesce under a divine law. This is the story of a military man who begins the saga immature, rough, careless of other’s feelings. A young man whose focus is on getting laid, fighting, and winning at every turn, regardless of cost. He gets caught up in a strange occurrence, along with a billion others, and finds himself in an oddly familiar place where life is lived as a timed-event role-playing game. He discovers that within the shattered universe he is a Mystic Player, a Marshal, a figure of power, potential, and probability. If he wins, he may even able to wrestle unto himself the very throne of heaven. Rick starts to build his Pantheon with his most trusted companions, friends, family, and a harem of strong and talented women. He faces challenges within himself and others, and also must lead his faction into battle with men and monsters. As Rick and his companions progress through the adventure games within the pocket universe, he develops a greater understanding of his humanity and the qualities of what makes each of us uniquely valuable. He grows mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, without really noticing how he is leaving his old existence behind. Striving against him for truly ultimate power are a thousand others with the same potential, the same possibilities. All are aligned on the spectrum from the brightest of minds, the lightest of hearts, to the darkest of souls. All Mystic Players, be they Monster or Marshal, share one characteristic. They thrive in chaos. And a shattered universe is a universe in chaos. At the end of the Saga, will the winner be someone worthy of emulation and even, if it were appropriate, of worship as an exemplar of divinity. Will the title granted to the Final Victor be EXEMPLAR, or will the title be DESPOILER? That is the question.

Dungeon Crawler Katia
The aliens killed everyone on Earth...almost. Every structure, from the Taj Mahal to the lowliest lobster trap, vanished into the earth, killing everyone inside. The survivors were given a choice: Endure on the surface without food or shelter or tools, or descend into a world-spanning nightmare dungeon that is also a reality TV show. Katia, an art professor from Iceland who has given up her humanity to transform into a shapeshifting doppelganger, meets up with Carl and his cat, Donut. Together, the three fight to survive in a dungeon filled with Clarketech goblin murderdozers and pyramid-scheme fairy moonshine-makers. The above is, of course, describing Dungeon Crawler Carl. With DoctorHepa's (the author) permission I'm posting some fanfic to expand on Katia, one of the secondary characters who started off not getting as much exploration as I would have preferred. I started off writing chapters that matched up to canon except from her POV instead of Carl's; that lasted a couple of chapters before going off the rails and spinning off into a completely new story, which suggests I should really go back and renumber all the chapters as soon as I find some tuits.
