《Chosen (Lloyd X Reader)》Pirates Vs Ninja

I stand at the edge of a cliff, staring at the water as it crashes against the cliff's rocky wall. After another minute, I pull out my sword and stare at every part of it before turning back to Sann behind me. "I was chained down to only watch and never do. But, now, I am going to help those who can't help themselves. I was given the power to help and I am not letting it go to waste. I won't be held captive anymore. Not by him. I'm taking a stand now."
"Well don't worry, you're free now and I'm here to help you however way possible."
~
I observe Lloyds as he punches Kai's covered hands quickly and works to perfect his fighting form.
"That's good, Lloyd. Make sure to keep your arms a bit bent though, it's getting a bit sloppy as you get tired but it's still in good form. Keep it up."
Lloyd smiles brightly hearing my feedback and continues on. "Ha! Fists of fury! You can't even see 'em move, I'm so fast! Ha!"
I smile at his antics, making sure to keep mental notes on what he can improve on next and what he needs to keep on doing. But, of course, Kai rolls his eyes playfully. "Save the gloating. It can only be used against you by your enemy."
"Oh, please! I'm ready to face whatever you throw at me!" Lloyd goes to kick Kai but gets pushed down to the ground instead.
"Definitely got ahead of yourself Lloyd."
Kai smiles seeing how his confidence growing over these past few weeks as he helps the young boy up. "Slow down greenie heh. You aren't even ready to face my pinky."
Sensei Wu, who has been watching us train Lloyd from the concern of the room, brightens up seeing how far Lloyd has come and how we've been maturing at the same time. "I see the student has become the teacher. You will learn fast, Lloyd, with lessons from the five ninjas."
"Great, now that lesson is over, how about some target practice...on Kai?" Cole says with a smirk, getting his fists ready.
Though when Kai hears that, his eyes widen in horror and he quickly runs to hide behind me. "Can't hurt me when I'm behind Y/n!"
"Hey!"
Sensei shakes his head with a smile, looking at us and then at Lloyd. "You'll each get your turn, but first, I don't want you to be late for your next lesson with Nya."
"Aww, but when will I learn Spinjitzu?" Lloyd asks with hope and disappointment mixed in his voice.
"Patience. It will only be unlocked when the key is ready to be found. Both of you will find that key soon," Sensei says looking at both of us.
Huh? What does that mean?...
Lloyd groans in disappointment before turning to me. "Can't you teach me Spinjitzu? I know you managed to teach the other four and I know you can teach me!"
I shake my head, waving away the thoughts, and smile at the blonde. "I promise I will after Nya's lesson. I'll teach you Spinjitzu as much as you want. But, for now, it's best you get going before she gets mad at you."
"Fine but please teach me right after! I really want to fight like you!" He smiles brightly before running out of the apartment, leaving me to just process what said. That was sweet... Heh.. I'll do my best to teach him...

Jay notices the growing smile on my face but before he gets to say anything, Cole interrupts him. "Ha, sounds familiar?"
The hot head rolls his eyes, shaking his head. "I wasn't that whiny."
"No, you were worse," Zane responds.
I simply laugh hearing Zane say that to him as I hold my stomach tightly. Kai rolls his eyes, looking away with his pride hurt a bit. "That was great Zane!"
Jay sighs though, bringing attention to him and stopping my laughing parade. "Hehe. Guys, I know we're trying to prepare Lloyd for the future, but it's hard to give him the best training in these conditions."
Cole sighs as he scratches his head and looks at Sensei. "Jay's right. I miss the Bounty. Too bad it's gone."
"Yeah... It's not exactly the best option to train him here. If only that real estate agent let us use that dojo in that fancy apartment... Hmpf I hate how expensive it is here."
"Hmm. I see your point. Perhaps we could find somewhere else to aid his journey. We shall head out once Lloyd comes back from his lesson," Sensei Wu says with a smirk, looking at us all.
~
Lloyd walks over to Nya, seeing her tend to the dragons. She sees him walk up to her and she gives him a warm smile. "Hey Lloyd, I just gave them their medicine. The Ultra Dragon should be able to fly properly soon. But it's important to take care of him because one day, he'll be yours."
His eyes widen in awe and he smiles brightly. "Uh, mine?...Really!?"
"Sure. The Elemental Dragons were loyal to the four ninjas. But the Ultra Dragon, he's meant for the Green Ninja to ride."
"Whoa! I never knew that... What about Mist though? Does she still belong to Y/n?" Lloyd asks turning to the sleeping purple dragon.
"Yeah, she will. You see, Mist isn't like the other dragons. Apparently, Y/n found her while the five were looking for the Golden Weapons. I don't know why she chose to be with her nor does Y/n know, but what we do know is that she's been protecting our Y/n for a while now."
"Huh..." He walks over to Mist, petting her. His eyes glow for a second, creating a connection with the sleeping dragon. Huh?... What was that?...
He shakes his head and looks at Nya with disappointment written on his face. "But, uh, I don't know how to fly."
"Just relax and let your legs guide the dragon. He'll be the fastest and strongest Dragon in all of Ninjago," Nya responds with a smile.
That's when the Ultra Dragon roars loudly, waking up Mist from her nap. She groans at him before flying off to find another place to nap.
Lloyd smiles, seeing them up. "Looks like he's already feeling better."
"Go try to get some air, big boy," Nya says to the white dragon. The dragon opens its wings and flies off, finally feeling better after the medicine hits.
~
We follow Sensei around the city, looking for a place to train Lloyd. My eyes widen seeing so much life happening with all cars honking, people selling stuff on the streets, and just the general busy life of the city. It's strange... and I love it! So much different than the quiet valleys or deserts.
"It's time we search Ninjago City for a more suitable place to train Lloyd," Sensei says to us, snapping me from my trance.

Jay's eyes widened, thinking about all the walking that he might have to do. "Oh, but Sensei, Ninjago City is huge. It'll take us all day to find it on foot! Plus Y/n and Lloyd have short legs!"
"Hey! We're just younger than you all!"
Zane adds to Jay's rambling. "And without our weapons, we have no Spinjitzu vehicles. How are we going to get around town?"
"You'll learn to travel with these," Sensei says as he hands me some coins.
The boys stare at the coins in my hands, trying to figure out what they while I just give Sensei a deadpan face. Bus Tokens. He's playing us like a fool. And Kai said he had no sense of humor.
"What are those?" Coles asks, trying to examine the coins in my hands.
"They can transport you anywhere you want to go in the city," Sensei says giving me a wink to stay silent for a moment. He's really trying to sell it to them... Of course, he would prank them.
"Like a magic portal?"
Jay smiles. "Ooh! Or a Spinjitzu vortex?!"
"They're bus tokens."
Sensei chuckles as the boys' eyes widen in horror and are unamused.
"Yeah think more realistically next time you four."

Meanwhile, Garmadon is angry at the fact that the Megaweapon could not destroy or even hurt the Ultra Dragon. He's below deck frustrated at the lack of success and the fact that his father's old weapon doesn't work for him.
"Aargh! They dare mock me? Aah! How does this weapon work!?" Out of frustration, he slams the weapon against the desk as a secret compartment is opened and revealed to Garmadon. His eyes widen seeing the drawer open as he walks over to it and finds a journal inside of it. He picks it up and reads the cover of it. "Captain Soto. Captain's log."
That's when his eyes widen in realization. "You mean this ship belonged to a pirate crew long before the ninja ever had it?"
He flips through the journal, reading each page at a rapid pace. But, once he finishes reading the journal, he stares at it for a moment sighing. "They were searching for her treasure... So they knew about her legacy... At least someone did... But his crew... Now this crew sounds like they knew how to fly a ship. I wish they were here to show these scaly idiots how it's done."
At that moment, the Megaweapon starts glowing brightly and starts draining his energy. He tries to let go out of panic, but it doesn't happen. "What?! What is happening?! Ugh! The power of the Mega Weapon... It won't let me let go of it! I feel weak..."
He drops to the ground as the Megaweapon stops glowing and voices can be heard above deck. Suddenly, a voice catches Garmadon's attention.
"All hands on deck!"
Garmadon's eyes widen in realization and he looks at his weapon. "What has it done?
He quickly runs to the deck, seeing all of the pirates in front of him, and not believing what he sees. "Captain Soto?..."
~
The bus stops in front of a building and we hop off it. I wave goodbye to the driver and we turn to the building in front of us, confused as to what it is exactly. "This is the place?"
Cole looks at us, figuring out it's a dojo but confused as to why there's so much decoration everywhere. "This is where Lloyd is going to train?"
"Hehe, it's better than our dumpy apartment," Jay says with a smile, trying to be optimistic.
We walk into the building, seeing the Dojo in all of its glory. We smile seeing everything so brand new and somewhat resembling our old training places. Feels nice to be somewhere familiar again. "Woah... this place is actually pretty nice."
Before we get to explore the Dojo, a voice from behind us catches our attention. "Welcome to Grand Sensei Dareth's Mojo Dojo. I am Grand Sensei Dareth, and I Dareth you to join my dojo. Heeya!" He tries to do an attack but fails miserably.
We just sigh, knowing what's to come. I really don't like him already... Just gotta tolerate him and hopefully, he'll let us use this place.
"Face the wall of karate trophies. If you look closely, my name is on all of them. That is because I am a highly skilled karate machine," Dareth says. trying to impress us.
"Look, Dareth, we're wondering if we could share your dojo. You see, we've been put in charge of training this little guy to become the greatest ninja in all of Ninjago." Kai says to him, trying to convince him through his cockiness.
"Not possible, for I am the greatest in the land. How many trophies do you have?"
Something in me just snaps and I go to attack this idiot but Lloyd holds me back. The boys see what's happening, quickly stepping in front of us to not scare Dareth. While I'm fighting against Lloyd's strength to attack Dareth, Jay decides to take the opportunity to try to convince him.
"Look, pal, we're the guys that just saved the city from that Devourer."
"Ha! Am I looking at Lord Garmadon? Because unless I'm stupid, and I'm not, Lord Garmadon destroyed the Devourer."
"We kept the Devourer away from you long enough to keep you alive! I-"
Lloyd interrupts my angry shouts by pulling down my hood as it covers my mouth. I struggle more against his strength, trying to attack Dareth. How strong is Lloyd really?!
Dareth sighs and looks at us. "I'll let you train here but only on one condition. You can defeat me. If you succeed, we will share the dojo. Unh! That's right. I, Grand Sensei Dareth, master of all animal martial arts, challenge one of you to a battle! I know the tiger." He roars at us. "The python." He hisses at us. "Penguin." And, finally, squawks at us.
That's when Lloyd's grip loosens for a split second so I take that opportunity to break free and quickly use Spinjitzu on Dareth. I throw him onto the ground and Kai smirks, patting my head. "How did you—"
"You might know animals, but we know Spinjitzu."
"You can train in my dojo anytime," Dareth says in disbelief.

The Serpentine and the Pirates are at a standoff, trying to figure out what's going on and why each other is on the ship.
Garmadon stares at both groups and mumbles to himself as the gears within his brain start clicking. "When I wished it to destroy the Dragon, it wouldn't. But when I wished for a better crew...The Mega Weapon doesn't have the power to destroy, it only has the power to create! I finally have a crew I can be proud of. Batten down the hatches, fellas!"
But, that's when Captain Soto stands in front of Garmadon glaring at him. "Who are you calling fellas, four arms?"
"Me, Lord Garmadon. I created you, you fool. I am your captain now!"
"Created me? I be Captain Soto, stealer of the seas! Raise your weapon!"
Garmadon tries to raise his weapon against Captain Soto but he fails to do so. The Pirate Captain smirks, knowing that the Serpentine will surrender to him and he would win in a fight against Garmadon at that moment. "Take the weapon from him."
Garmadon's eyes widen as a pirate grabs the weapon and tries to take it from him. "Ugh, no! Don't! It's too powerful! Only I can-" But, before he gets to finish his sentence, the pirate disappears in a golden light and Garmadon collapses to the ground and breathes heavily. "...Only I have the power to wield the Mega Weapon. It may have drained my powers for now, but when my strength returns, I'll deal with you."
Captain Soto rolls his eyes as his pirate crew surrounds the Serpentine and Garmadon. "Then that's too bad for you because we're taking back our ship! Lock him and all his reptilian friends into the brig!"
The pirates forcefully throw all of them into the brig and Captain Soto smirks, finally getting back his ship. He then looks at his pirate crew and smiles, "Off to Ninjago! And, once we're done there, we must find Megami's Treasure!"

The older four ninjas sit on the side of the dojo as Lloyd and I sit in the center of it and they watch us. Cole smiles, remembering going through the same training as Lloyd did when I trained him. "You think Y/n is going to go hard on him as she did with us?"
"I hope so because I still have bruises from that day," Kai says, rubbing his back.
"I remember when she would make us train until we dropped and made sure we understood the basics of Spinjitzu before even getting into it... And when it came to the actual lesson, it was during the time when we were getting the Golden Weapons... She just threw us in like that..." Jay says as he starts getting flashbacks to training.
Zane, though, actually tries to find the positive to the training. "But, they were good lessons in the end though. We did get it in the end and it helped us become better ninjas said."
"Though I do appreciate you all going through memory lane, I do need to teach Lloyd Spinjitzu in quietness please."
They all quickly cover their mouths, but when I turn to face Lloyd, his eyes are widened and almost in tears. "P-Please don't tell me you're gonna train me as you did with them!"
My eyes widen, frantically trying to calm him down. "I promise I won't! I was hard on them because I knew they could handle it! W-We have time and we can take it easy!"
Although Kai and Jay shout out in anger hearing what I say to Lloyd, he simply relaxes hearing my words. "Promise?"
"Promise."
He brightens up hearing that and prepares for what's to come. "Then I'm ready!"
I take a deep breath. "Alright, first off, we need to make sure we are focused when it comes to Spinjitzu, or else you won't be able to form the fighting tornado. Focus is key after all. Secondly, it's just like fighting but the faster you go, the tornado forms, and soon you'll be able to find multiple enemies at once without breaking a sweat. And thirdly, always make sure to keep on practicing your Spinjitzu because the more you practice, the stronger it becomes."
"Woah... that sounds awesome... And I'll definitely make sure to do all of that! Can we try Spinjitzu right now!?"
I smile at his excitement. "Sadly, it's too soon for that. You're gonna need some more training for that but we can try."
He quickly gets up and gets into his fighting stance. I stand up and circle him, making sure his stance is proper while the other four stare at us curiously, wondering if he will actually be able to do it. Once I'm done checking his form, I smile seeing it improving. "Alright good. Now try hitting the air with any attacks you can think of and continue doing that but faster as you go along."
The blonde smiles and does what I say, throwing out attacks quickly and trying desperately to form a glowing tornado. "You're doing good so far! Try to keep it up!"
He tries to keep up, but it's becoming noticeable that he's getting tired. Though, when's about to give up, green glimmers begin to form around him. Our eyes widen seeing him actually starting to form around him.
"He's actually doing it..." Cole says in disbelief.
I simply stare at the blonde in shock. I go to touch the green particles when Lloyd's eyes meet mine and it felt like the world stood still for a moment. That's when he collapses onto the ground out of exhaustion. "Lloyd!"
I quickly help him up and sighs. "Let's take a break and after that, you can start training with Cole."
~
As we stack planks of wood to help build Lloyd's strength with Cole's training session. I look at him with a smile. "Make sure to stay focused because, without it, you won't be able to do any damage."
Jay adds to what I say. "You must be light on your feet."
"When you strike with your fists, concentrate. You may be small, but you're strong," Cole says, finishing our advice to him.
He nods so we stand back allowing Lloyd to get into his fighting stance. Once he becomes ready, he quickly jumps up and strikes down the boards with all of his strength, breaking all of them and causing the floor to shake and split open. Our eyes widen seeing what he just accomplished and we all look at each other. "He did it! He's... His powers are finally manifesting..."
"That was the power of the Staff of Quakes... And you did it without the Golden Weapon!" Jay shouts out with excitement.
That's when Zane realizes something. "That must be why you have the potential to be the greatest ninja. You can harness all of the Elemental Powers!"
Lloyd's eyes widen with awe, running over to me. "I'm gonna have cool powers like all of you!"
I smile hearing that but something in my head just makes me feel sad for him. This just means the time is slowly approaching to fight Garmadon...
Sensei walks over to us and places his hand on his nephew's shoulder. "With this power, you must be careful. You must control it before it controls you."
Lloyd nods, smiling and determined. But, the sweet moment is ruined when Dareth comes walking into the room with his students as they carry planks of wood.
Damn it... He's trying to one-up Lloyd... Of course, he is.
"I have to admit, not bad for a kid. But instead of ten boards, how about fifty? And perhaps if I, Grand Sensei Dareth, can break through them all, you will allow me to join your team and become..." He pulls down a ninja hood that was made by him. "..the Brown Ninja!"

8 186Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
