《Whimsical Invitations》Loser's Anthem

When you're smart,
When you're talented,
When you're beautiful,
When you're insightful,
When you're strategically-minded,
Being successful is easy,
But it doesn’t feel good.
So you were blessed,
And you used those blessings to win?
Congratufuckinglations.
You did what was intented with your blessings.
Congratufuckinglations.
You won a game that was intended for people like you to win.
Congratufuckinglations.
No, that's not how I'd do it.
No, at every step we were meant to fight against the heavens.
At every step we were meant to question.
Life doesn’t stop at winning the game set before you.
After a billion how much more is the money before you?
No, at that point you start preparing for the next game.
And the next game isn’t measured in money,
It isn’t measured by the random beautiful women you’ve fucked.
It’s measured by your worth as a person,
Your value to the world around you.
What good is your talent if it isn’t being guided by the heavens?
What good is being successful if all you have to show for it is safety?
No, at this point you start looking for more fulfilling sustenance.
No, I’d rather be a loser.
With all that talent,
It would at least feel good to waste it.
This food is heaven in hiding.
Even for the talentless,
Even for the slow of mind,
Of the surface level perceptions,
And for the overwhelmed by the complications of life,
There is comfort in being a loser.
Losers are able to experience the grace of god,
Losers are able to value that last sip of soda,
Losers can experience heaven by holding the hand of a tumblrina.
There is comfort in being a loser,
In being away from the chaos of the struggle,
In resting peacefully at home,
In indulging in the most extraneous thoughts.

Are you talented?
Throw it away,
Losers are the real winners in this life.
Money won’t fill that hole in your soul.
In a world where a loser’s cup of coffee is worth more than a million dollar yacht.
Tragic…
Are you smart?
Then simulate in your mind a world where you’re happier,
Devise in your mind,
An extrapolation of your life where you aren’t burdened with misery.
Are you beautiful?
Good for you.
Are you happy?
The losers who can see it,
The blessings they have,
Heaven’s light shining from under the first cookie they’ve had in years,
They’re happy.
Why is it arranged in this way?
Because the truly valuable is worth the tribulation.
The truly valuable shouldn’t rest in the hands of someone who took advantage.
The things of true worth are given by the grace of god.
The best things should be seen by innocent eyes.
Be a loser,
Become capable of good,
Save your own soul.

Windwalker
Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.
